Danny falls to the ground and lands on his butt, he takes his mask off, revealing his bad scar and his white eye.
I'm Danny, and it looks like I just got dumped, I guess....I can never do anything right... says Danny sadly.

The whole 'smacking me, hissing at me, and running off' thing was a hint..... says Danny, who was still of the impression that all members of the opposite sex hated him.

Elke stared quietly at Danny and Makayla. She'd fallen asleep in the park, but Danny's shouts had awaken her. She sat up, smoothing wrinkles in her skirt while she tried to make sense of what was happening. Dump? Makayla? Uhm, let's go Elke. She was frozen where she sat, a confused expression on her face.
