She hadn’t been expecting him to jump so whole-heartedly into her suggestions, and as he started with that long second of verbal filler she actually was a little afraid of what was going to follow after it. The list of things that she found at fault in herself was extensive, and with someone as observant as Lavi she highly doubted he had gone without noticing most of them.
“I’m not surprised… but that’s certainly better than what I was expecting,” her voice was a bit of a relieved sigh, resting her forehead against his for just a moment before she gave his bottom lip a soft,gracious kiss. She was simply just thankful he was speaking his mind for once. With Lavi it had always felt like a game of riddles, trying to decode something nonchalant to find the proper meaning behind it and never getting any closer to the truth in the meantime, and Sil hoped they would be able to start changing that dichotomy. “I’m working on it,” she said gently, her voice sincere. “I’ve started cutting down. The extra stress… is just getting to me… so it’s a ‘two steps forward, one step back’ situation. I quit before so I can do it again, it’s just staying away that’s the hard part. When I get upset, cravings hit me like someone is punching me and won’t stop until I give in.” A little sigh slipped past her lips, knowing that excuses didn’t do her any good.
“Thank you, though, for the honesty,” her voice was soft, since they were settled so close together. It felt so amazing to be in such close contact with him and she sorely wished it weren’t such a hardship to find these moments. “I’m not much better at it… but I’ll try to give you the same courtesy. The only thing that I suppose bothers me… is that I want to know you better.” She chewed her lip a little, leaning back so she could gauge his face. “After… the whole Llew experience… I’m starting to realize how little I actually know about you. I know you can’t tell me a lot of things, but… even when you’re just honest about your opinion you’re letting me know you a little bit better.”

“What were you expecting…?” He laughed a little, raising an eyebrow. “I can’t find many things wrong with you, really… But they say love makes blind, so I don’t know if I should be trusted.” He was glad to hear she was already starting to cut down on smoking, at least he hadn’t said anything too bad. A small smile tugged at his lips. “Guess we just shouldn’t let you get upset, then.” The smile stretched in a bit of a grin as he rested a hand on the back of her neck to pull her in for a kiss.
Her own bit of honesty twisted his stomach a bit. This was the first time she’d brought up the time he’d reverted back to his younger self. He remembered that after the Llew business the only thing she had asked him was how many times he had changed his name. He could imagine she was burning with a lot of other questions, but he had always been evasive when asked about his life, so it wasn’t that much of a surprise that she was keeping them in. Even her one question had been answered vaguely. ‘A few times.’ Not only was it not his place to tell her certain things about him, but he also didn’t want her to know everything. Like how he didn’t want her to know that, contrary to her admitting that she thought she might have been in love with him ever since she had met him, he couldn’t have given less about her on their first meeting and some time after that. Indifference was the only thing he had felt back then. She’d just fade away into history, just a pawn. It had been the same for everyone in the Order, and he didn’t want any of them to know he had had those thoughts. What use would that have, anyway? He wasn’t that person anymore.
“I’m sorry I don’t confide in you a lot… It must be… frustrating.” Frowning a little, he sighed and squeezed her against him a little tighter. “It’s true I can’t tell you everything, but I want to try as much as possible… Ask me anything and I’ll try and answer…” He swallowed a little before deciding to tell her something about him no one else knew, figuring an honest answer was better late than never and he wanted to prove he really didn't want to keep her in the dark more than was necessary. She already knew Lavi wasn’t his real name, anyway. “As for the Llew thing… You asked, so…” He paused before looking at her a little uncertainly. “...I changed my name forty-nine times.” He didn't know what she'd do with the information, but he wanted to change his mysteriousness for her just a little bit.

Sil had just been thinking it would be a lot harder to be upset if they could just make a habit out of these moments. She let his question about what she was expecting slide, thoroughly distracted from it as he pulled her in for another kiss. If love was blinding him, she was hoping he wouldn't start seeing any time soon...
“It’s nothing for you to apologize for… I’m happy to take what I can get. I know there are a lot of things I shouldn’t know and I’m better off not knowing them with Noah around to extract information,” she grimaced, the thought of getting herself in a situation where she could know something detrimental and possibly dangerous to Lavi. Even if Lavi didn’t have enemies any different than her own, the idea of being a pawn to be used and sacrificed against him honestly scared her. It was better to live in the dark on a plethora of subjects than to create a risky situation. “I won’t bombard you now, just… maybe a question every so often… The same offer is open to you too, of course. I talk a lot but never about the things I should.”
For a moment, Sil was confused when he mentioned that she had asked a question of him when she had been fairly sure she hadn’t. It was still taking some getting used to that Lavi remembered things that she had long since forgotten or pushed to the back of her mind. However, when the subject was re-awaken she did remember the vague answer she had received from him, and the even vaguer answers she had received when he had placed that offer on the table before. After briefly meeting his younger self, she had suspected he had changed his name a few times, probably when he changed locations with Bookman. The actual staggering number left her reeling for a moment, her lips parting in a moment of shock. “Forty-nine? Holy s**t…” No matter how hard she tried, she wasn’t sure she could imagine him using any other name than Lavi even with the new information, and she wondered how he could have changed his name so many times in such a short life. “That’s… A lot of names,” she said a little numbly, trying to get her head wrapped around the information, and after a moment Sil seemed to have regained her senses.
“Well… even if there are forty-eight other versions of you… I’m sure that ‘Lavi’ is my favorite…” A gentle smile curled her lips, tightening her hold with her uninjured arm, as if holding onto him might keep him anchored to his current place in the world longer. She continued on as if having forty-nine names wasn't that odd-- after all, the entire world was always in transition, they just didn't change names while they did so. “This particular version of me is quite fond of him. "
