My first anime was either Ranma 1/2, or Tenchi Muyo.. I dont quite remember. But, as anime went, I dont think that was the best to be showing you, probably at the time, 3-5 year old. What can I say? I grew up quickly sweatdrop A couple of years later, with Thundercats, He man, Gundams, and other random shows in between, I began staying up late for the Adult Swim shows. FLCL, Big O, Inuyasha, and many more were added to my pallet. At that time I also watched Toonami, and DBZ and all the little others of the series was added to my brain. I have some friends who LOVE dbz, one who especially likes Zarbon (she was him for haloween. With the 'Roy Mustang', and a guy from Yu Yu Hakusho, it was quite comical). As well as television, an aqquirement of friends has also helped me add to my selection, especially my friend Alex, who has me borrow and read random selections she buys with her vast amounts of money she receives (so not fair), so thus Alice 19th, and Marmalade Boy, as well as several others have been added then. Gravitation was added by a friend who had received the 1st dvd for x-mas, and he happened to be watching it when mom and I went over to their house for a bit... With the reuniting of a childhood friend comes Full Metal Alchemist, and Naruto, and a few others.... Which brings me to now. The anime-obsessed, crazy fangirl.
What was that about a life? I think they just sold the last one down at the ramen shop... rofl

Gosh... seems like I've watched somewhat different shows than you guys. I've never really been a big anime fan, though I used to be obsessed with manga... that has kind of changed too.
My first anime must have been Kare Kano, very cute but way too sappy for me. From that I moved on to watching Furuba, a series which I loved. Then Kenshin, still one of my favorites. Gravitation was just sex, as was Yami no Matsuei (hope I got the name right), those two got me into shounen-ai and later yaoi. Next one was Evangelion which completely got me into the horror kind of mangas, still my favorite anime ever. Continuing with Berserk, loved that one. Escaflowne was cool too, but stay away from those french dubs xD And the last complete anime I ever watched was Serial Experiments Lain, an anime that has one of the most amazing moods ever. I watched a few episodes of Naruto, but as I found scanslations of the manga I completely forgot about the anime.
I bet I forgot something... but ohwell.

Well, if you discount the fact that I didn't think too much of Voltron, I attribute my first anime as Robotech. Ooooooh yeah, old school, baby! I also remember Moltar. In fact, I remember the opening to Sailor Moon: "this one's going out to all the ladies!" rofl
Gods, Sailor Moon . . . I had a roomie that was obcessed with the show, and such was the first example of how bad dubbing can be. Horrid voices, and terrible rewrites. Uranus and Neptune are lesbian lovers in Japan- in America they are sisters that live together. Ugh. Ruined so many good comments! On the team of five vein, though, BIG fan of the Ronin Warriors . . . just love the concept, even if it is cheesy. Never got enough of that group. heart
Still, at this point I have seen more than my fair share of anime . . collected it too. pirate Big props to Kyosuke for helping me set up emule. Now I probably need to reconfigure it to the new computer. sweatdrop *terrified of screwing it up and losing his favoured downloading program*

Yoder Tenchi Muyo was probably the first Anime series that I ever watched (besides the accursed Thundercats). The first anime movie I ever saw was either KiKi's Delivery Service or My Friend Totoro. I saw them both way back when they had them in blockbuster when I was around 5 years old, and the movies were new. That was around the same time I saw Thundercats and Tenchi Muyo. After that I saw Gundam Wing, which, as all of you well agree, was wicked awesome. I don't remember when DBZ started in the US, but I watched each and every single episode. Now I've seen every episode around 3 times each. I hated GT and plain Dragon Ball was kind of weird. Much later, I recall seeing the original Zoids (the only good one) with Bit Cloud. All of these things were shown on the original Toonami of Cartoon Network back when it was cool. I vaguely recall the first host beinga 3D Moltar from Space Ghost. I love those old shows like Shazam, Wonder Twins, Space Ghost, Johnny Quest, and other that I can picture in my head, but can't think of the names for. there was also one that had all of the classic bad guys banded together in some axis of evil in a random board-type room. A Pup Named Scooby-Doo was always so funny when I was a kid. After a while, Toonami switched their host to Disco Bob v1, which was short and fat. After 2 upgrades after being eaten by aliens twice through random online events, he is as he now is, with a random hologram of Sara by his side. Ah, those were the days of 3D Moltar and Disco Bob v1. I think Toonami started out at first with Voltron (the first anime to come to America) and Sailor Moon as well, which, I regrettably admit, that I watched for a LONG while. I never really watched Voltron, in favor of Thundercats(heavens knows why). Anopther old show that started off most of the Sentai 5 team cliches was Ronin Warriors, also known as Samuri Troopers. If that doesn't ring a bell, Leegndary Elemntal Armor heros might help some. They were cheesy, but so cool at first. Gosh, I need a life... Gasp!your right originally it was Moltar!-huggles moltar-lol your right Talon he did.OMG remembering old school days!^-^ Vs. 1 was my favorite, he was all chibi and stuff. i used to have a wallpaper of him sitting but i lost itx.x I started watchign DBZ whne I was young before the start of toonami on PBS, they played it on Sun's at like 3amo.o, but it was so. Awesome!>. Then i saw kiki's delivery service(still one of my FAVORITE anime movies ever sweatdrop ^-^cute witch girls yay!) I have voltron toys! And Robotech models!(but my cousin broke the one I have crying I wanna use Emule!-glomps aqnd tackles sama-san show me how to set it up:p!^-^ My first anime actually was Robotech not Dbz I remember my friend's older brother gave me a tape once(VHS, reallly old one too), and said he didnt like it but I might. it was the first episode of Robotech the series, and was so.Awesome!O.O Giant robots that change into jet planes and a giant battleship that becomes a huge super robot with rollerball shield defense system!-drool- My friends all looka t me strange when I say I like sailor moon(like talon saysthe japanese version is better, less censoredx.x), but Ive actually watched it and my friends havent. Friends:why do you like sailor moon?its like this cheesy girls anime right? Me: It's 5 smexy anime girls running around in skimpy outfits with long transformation scenes that cause them to become as close to naked as to nto be censored by the FCC friends: O.O!!!! I've only ever read the first Ranma 1/2 manga-sigh-I want more!>. My friends have so much anime, but they wont burn me any daqmnit!>.,< so ebil to me:p

because Im bored:
ee image stretched the page, will shorten it when Im homex.x
Kawaii TOM
Actualyl the toonami hsot is TOM-forgot-
He was commisioned by moltar to run the Absolution, the toonami spaceship
originally Toonami was run by Moltar who used a tiny sattelite robot called CLyde49 who would run around and observe things that are itneresting for Moltar, which is wher ethey found their new animes:p
Clyde was phased out slowly, and become a more group set of thigns, with teh newest incarnations of Clyde's being the blue insecty guys^_^
The Absolutions(the shipw ith the Ai in it), were destroyed once or twice, with TOM jhimself being eaten by aliens and melted the second time. In the pod room new TOMS come from tehre was 5 capsules, so amybe more changes soon:p
(also Moltar in original Toonami was on the verge of having Toonami removed completly from Cartoon network until '99, when they introduced TOM^-^
TOM also stands for: Toonami Operations Module, the Absolution's maintenance AI unit.
Also other countries who get Toonami do not know Moltar, only TOM^_^
Facts Behind The Scenes: - The voice artists for TOM are also popular voice artists. Sonny Strait is the current voice of Krillan on all of the Dragon Ball series and the voice of Lupin III in FUNimation's dubs of the movies. The current voice of TOM, Steven Jay Blum, who's also a series writer and director, is the voice of Goku in the Midnight Eye Goku, Jamie in both Megas XLR and its pilot Low Brow, and can be heard in numerous series, including Digimon, Transformers: Energon, What's New Scooby-Doo?, Rurouni Kenshin, Naruto, and IGPX: The Series. He also officially contributed his vocals of Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' On Heaven's Door and Roger Smith in the second season of The Big O, two roles originated by David Lucas, one of many aliases Blum performed under. - Strait is also an independent comic artist and does a lot of regional theater in Texas.
- Blum didn't do promos for The Big O during Toonami, probably because TOM and Roger Smith sounded so much alike.
- Imagine TOM sounding very monotone and flat. Strait (who was one of many FUNimation voice actors who were in the running for the voice of the new robotic host of Toonami) did a flat robotic voice as opposed to the cool, sardonic voice that became the signature tone of the popular host.
- In an interview at Anime Adrenaline, the Toonami producers admitted that there was always going to be three incarnations of TOM. The first TOM represented childhood, the second represented teenagedom, and the final incarnation represents adulthood.
- Blum has gotten into the character of TOM by clearly accentuating the "cynical b*****d" side of the character by silently saying a rude remark that can't be repeated here.
-Found online, yay Google!random facts^_^

I started to watch DBZ off and on just at it's beginning- it was on right after . . . wait for it . . . Reboot! ninja I hope that I'm not the only mug that remembers that show. sweatdrop "This one's going out to all the ladies . . ." one of my fave phrases! rofl
As for other anime's, I remember hearing about Ranma 1/2 I decided to research it on the net. For a week I spent a lot of free time looking up the series on the net, and finding out some sort of sense of the series. All that came of it was a migrane. In the end, it was as simple as buying a single tape and giving it a try- at the worst I would eat the cost of a tape. I literally laughed so hard I thought I would mess myself. The next day I went back into town and bought the rest of season one. blaugh
Pure and simple, Sailor Moon is on crack. I mean, not only are there the lesbian outer senshi, but the Sailor Starlights (a team of three) are guys in normal form and women in their Senshi form! eek A rock team that goes transgender!!! Then there is the loli influence of Chibi-moon. The main charecter's daughter comes back through time and hooks up with the main group. What she seems to not know is that she is living with her future mom and competing for the affection of her future dad! And I don't mean for some time to buy ice cream . . . neutral
Robotech took my favourite idea and made it into tools. Transformers that are little more than powered suits! Oooooooooh yeah! I can't believe that somebody remembers the point defense system used rollerballs! rofl
The only complaint I have about the voice acting is that the same 7 people seem to work on EVERYTHING!!! I mean within half an hour of watching a movie or ten mintues of a show already I recognize the voices of half the cast (or more). Gets really old . . . crying

Seriously, for about ten minutes I was almost shivering from the adrenaline rush of finally being out of that room XD.
Much much later edit: My first anime was Yu Yu Hakusho. I happened on it by chance one day after school got hooked on its strangeness... Or at least it seemed very strange to me then, as I'd never seen any anime before. ^^
