Masanori enters the academy with a shine of excitment and energy flowing out of his body. He smiles. As he walks casualy through the many corridors, looking for signs for Mokujin-sensei's office or teacher hangout. "Dum-di-di-dum," he diddled to himself. "That was a whole new event in my life. And there's gonna be plenty more of it! Exciting!" his thoughts circled around the recent event that happend just a few moments ago in the housing district with the bullies that Hiru and himself had beaten up. "I had no idea that Hiru was so strong in hand-to-hand combat. I just figured he was another tool, but a powerful one. Great!"

Being in the academy seemed somewhat, strange, to him. Usually, jounin's jobs were more on the field than academic. Mokujin was therefore pretty far from his comfort zone. Also, even though he knew all the basics of ninja training, most of his practice of the last many years was in puppeteering. Still, he had always enjoyed supervising young shinobis and this was simply another aspect of the job.
When Mokujin finally, heard someone entering the academy he slowly made his way to his class. From what he had witnessed, as far ahead as Hiru might have been in ninjutsu, it was obvious that Masanori still hadn't even heard about the basics of molding chakra. He stopped at the library to pick up the book "Hand Seals 101". This did bring back memory, but sadly not very fun ones. Still, he tucked it under his arm and entered the classroom.
"Alright Masanori, you start wit dis.", the wooden sensei said, tossing the book on the desk in front of the student. "I'm telling you right now, dis training is both long and boring, but dere isn't a best way to get started. We've all been through it and survived." He flipped through the pages from a distance, through some chakra threads he had left on it before throwing the book, natural habit for puppet masters, "Memorize de technique for all twelve of de chakra hand seals and practice until you have dem right. Tell me if you have any problems."
Mokujin closed the book, released the chakra strings and sat on a chair facing the window, looking outside to see if the shark kid was coming.

Masanori accepeted the book with a large smile on his lips. "Challenge after challenge Mokujin-sama. Thanks!" he bowed deeply and quickly took a seat near his teacher and started to study the book with intense eyes and mind. The first seal his path crossed was the "ne"(rat) seal. A seal that is assosiated with the month of novemeber and the nara clans jutsus.
He made the ne handseal and repeated the name over and over again. But it seemed that it didin't get stuck in his memory.

"Come on. It's just a gesture that you need to remember. One more time, look carefully" he told himself in his head. Once again he took the posture with his hands and looked intensively at his hands reapeted the name of it in a whispered tone, out loud. "Ne, ne, ne, ne". It stuck and he quickly moved on to the next seal.

The ushi(oxe) seal was he next one on the list and he quickly prepped his hands and combined the fingers with eachother and bending his wrists and elbows until the desired posture of the book was complete. Then he simply, once again started to repeat the name of it in his own head. Unfortetuanly a couple of birds flew across the window, which made Masanori to ponder about love according to an animal. Distracting him from memorizing.

A short amount of time passed but then he came to his senses and started again with his memorizing technique. He easily got the handseal into his longterm memory after just a couple of minutes. "Ha. At this rate, I'll fix the seals until Hiru gets back." he turned the page and faced the tora seal.

"The tora seal, the third in the list of twelve. Used in fire techniques." he read from the description outloud as he studied it. "Hmm.. Okay, so you cross these fingers.. Then you. Point these. And there we go." he held the tora seal, and off and on in a few minutes he reapeted the hand movements and thought of name of the handseal.

"U?.."(hare) the name of the seal was a bit humours to him, but taking this seriously. He quickly made his way into the hand gesture and reapted it's name several times. Memorizing it for each time he made the handseal. "Yes! Got it. 8 more seals to go. Piece of cake"
