Little Guy soon found that he had been a little too successful with his Bug-piercing attack, his beak now stuck in the Scyther's armor. He also found himself helpless, seeing that his talons were now dangling in the air. His right wing hurt too much to try and push himself out and as soon as he heard Scyther's shriek, he immediately thought against wriggling back and forth. Despite this being a battle, his beak was planted deep, and he feared moving too harshly could damage the Bug more than he'd intended.
Ky couldn't help but find the shriek a signal of pain for the Bug, and it hurt him to feel like he was bringing such pain to it. Nevertheless, he knew he must continue. "Little Guy, Night Shade," Ky said, a solemn look on his face.
Knowing he had no other option, Little Guy obeyed, conjuring the black shade once again around his somewhat dangling body. As soon as he had gathered enough of it, he sent the dark energy surging into the Bug, focusing it towards the wound his beak had created.

The sun was shining brightly through the window, as morning was now upon them. Slowly Kasiya sat up in bed, rubbing her eyes and stretching, and somehow feeling like she hadn't slept at all. Frowning slightly, she slipped out of bed, careful not to wake Seto, who was still sound asleep, and picked up her belongings, heading towards the shower where she went about her early morning routine. She showered, still feeling groggy and tired although refreshed, and she was busy running a brush through her wet hair as she re-entered the dorm to find Seto sitting up on the bed and grooming himself, careful to avoid his bruises. "Oh, I didn't get you three healed last night!" she gasped, suddenly feeling terrible about forgetting. "What kind of a trainer am I, anyways?" Tears of guilt welled up in her eyes as she fumbled to click her belt on, and dropped Seto's Pokeball in her haste to recall him. The Persian let out a bemused sound and jumped down from the bed, nuzzling her leg with his head to let her know it was all right. The girl brushed aside her tears and put her vest on over Keegan's black shirt from yesterday. She was pleased to see that his tending of her wound had helped greatly, as the redness and swelling had gone down significantly. Making a mental note to thank him, she slipped her PokeNav into her pocket, leaving everything else but her Pokemon behind her. "I'll be right back," she called over to Maven, who looked like she hadn't had a good night's sleep either.
The girl quickly exited the gym, and dashed towards the Pokemon Center, feeling faint as she walked, only this time she realized it was because she hadn't eaten anything since yesterday morning. Seto padded along beside her as they stepped through the automatic doors, and Kasiya recalled her Persian before handing the kind nurse his Pokeball, along with Casimir and Ariel's. "Thank you," she said in advance, leaning up against the counter to wait.

Maven watched as Kasiya got herself ready and ran out of the room. Maven got up and started to make the bed. She recalled both Phyra and Vixy and gathered all of her belongings placing them neatly on the newly made bed. She left the room to have her shower and brush her teeth.
As she was in the shower tears overwhelmed her as she let the water splash down on her head as sobs wracked her body. No hello's or good mornings...no friends... Finishing up taking longer in the shower than expected she dressed in her normal travelling clothes and quietly went back in the room and grabbed her stuff. She strapped the backpack on and placed her belt over her pants with her pokeballs close by. She knew she'd let them out when she got out of Saffron city.
She stopped in the gym and looked around remembering the battle a small smile escaped her lips.

"You're totally sure?" Whitney asked. "I was-- ah, I was being really careless and I didn't even, like, watch where the heck I was going." The man smiled. "It's of little consequence, my dear." The man was fairly tall and somewhat elderly, with mostly white hair and a moustache of the same color. He started to walk with Whitney. "So tell me, whereabouts are you headed on such a fine day?"
"I was heading off over to Celadon to like, do some shopping, you know?" He nodded. "Ahh, I see. That's nice, a girl like you having such a hobby." She shrugged a little. "Yeah, I guess, but like... I don't get too much free time, since I'm a Gym Leader. I typically stay at my Gym, but like, a lot of the time that's just wasted, since I don't get a whole bunch of challengers." The man's interest piqued at Whitney's mention of being a Gym Leader. "Ah, I see... You're awfully young to be a Gym Leader. How old are you? You must be about eighteen, right?" She stopped walking, and gave the man a very strange look. "Uhm... I'm seventeen. Why does it matter?" He didn't reply to her question. "So young... It's not safe, you know. There's a killer coming back around. His name's Maorde Menskr, and he kills people with his Pokemon. Have you heard of him?" Whitney was getting nervous. "Uhm... I've like, gotta go. It's been nice talking to you." She turned to walk away from him as fast as she could.
But Maorde grabbed her arm, preventing her from doing so. "What, leaving so soon?" he asked, a dark grin spread upon his complexion. "I can't let you get away, no... I need to see if you're the one!" The girl struggled to break free, on the verge of tears. "No, let me go! Please!!" He shook his head just a tad, clicking his tongue. "I'm afraid I can't. I need to see if you're the one." Tears running down her face, Whitney was getting hysterical. "You keep saying that-- what the hell do you mean?!"
He used his free hand to unclip a Pokeball from his belt. "I need to see if the blood that runs through your veins... is the same that runs through mine!" He released the Nidorina from inside the ball, and nodded towards the screaming girl. "Take down and Bite attack!" Maorde let go of Whitney's arm, causing her to topple backwards, watching the Pokemon come bounding toward her. "No... NO!"
Whitney thrased around in bed before flinging up, letting out a terrible scream. "NO, PLEASE! NOT AGAIN!"

Crenu wandered through the large city looking around at the buildings and all they had to offer. A city this massive was sure to have a gym equally as massive and a leader worthy of such a city. He didn't want to go straight to the gym however, a city this large deserved some exploration and was suer to offer something worth while if he looked hard enough. As he stood amidst the busy people he looked up at the rather large radio tower that seemed to watch over the city. "Hope this leader is more competent than the last. Twice I banged on his door and still no response from Bugsy. Oh well, once I'm done with this one, I'll come back for you Bugsy." he grinned and set off into the city, not sure what he would find.

Having spotted Crenu, a man looking to be in his early 20s walked up with his hands in his pockets and a strange smile on his face. His hair was black and he wore a light blue turtleneck with tan pants. "Hey, kid. What's the matter? Little girl get the best of you?" He laughed again. "That was one heck of a scene in there, but I'd have to say that that little girl's right. You shouldn't be so rude to those who help you out." With that, he took a Pokeball from his belt, holding it a few inches from his own eyes as he sighed. "Guess I should teach you a lesson. Once I send you back to that Pokemon Center again, I think you'll appreciate my girlfriend's skills."

"Heh, is that so?" An odd smile curled Crenu's mouth, it was twisted and misshapen, and was accompanied by a sharpnes sin his eyes. "Heh heh heh heh heh... Heh he he ha ha ha ha...AH HA HA HA HA HA HA! I could care less what you or your girlfriend have to say about my manners. Cross me, and you're the one who will appreciate her skills more than anyone. Now is your chance to back off. Consider yourself lucky, most people don't get a chance to undo a dire mistake like this. AH HA HA HA HA HA HA!" His laugh was defiant and wicked, bellowing out from the very pit of his stomach.

The man could only take a step back, looking in confusion as Crenu laughed. Is this kid insane? With a frown, he cleared his throat. "You seem too sure of yourself kid and it seems you've lost more than just your manners." Trying to size up his opponent, he could see this was going to be a very odd and tense battle. He took a few paces backwards to get himself into position. "Since I challenged you, I will make the first move. Gligar, you're first!" he called, throwing his Pokeball outwards. Out of the Pokeball came a purple bat-like creature, similar to a Zubat. It wavered back and forth in the air, hissing with its tongue sticking out.

"What's that old man? You think I've lost something else? We'll just see about that... Poliwag, it's play time!" Out of the ball came the small blue ball that was poliwag, flailing it's tail around violently as it waiter. Poliwag, Double Slap!" Imediatly the small tadpole pokemon leaped into the air with his back turned to the Gligar, waving his tail around as forcefully as he could.

"Gligar, Harden," the man said in response. As the Poliwag came towards him, the Gligar concentrated on his tough outer skin, causing it to harden before the tadpole reached him. He brought his arms up to protect himself as the slaps did their damage, though they did little to worry his trainer. As soon as the attack stopped, the Gligar glared back down, waiting for the next move.

"Silly man, you won't teach me anything if all you do is block all day. Ty blocking this next one! Water Gun!" Poliwag planted his tail in the ground and shot a blast of high pressurized water directly at Gligar in an attempt to ground the flying bat like pokemon so he could do further damage.

Despite the speed and accuracy of the water, the Gligar managed to dodge a little to the side, using his claws to deflect the water away from his body. A small grunt followed as he rubbed his claws together to ease the pain caused by the water's damage. His trainer smiled.
"A defensive game is no less effective than an offensive one, though you are quick to judge my battle strategy, wouldn't you say? Gligar, Quick Attack!" the man called. After a quick nod, the Gligar sped in a dive towards the Poliwag, a white streak following his blur as he swung his claws in tandem to hit the tadpole.

Keegan dozed on and off for several hours, finally deciding that sleep would not be coming to him this night. He sat up in bed, looking around the dimly lit room. His Pokemon were still sound asleep, save for Althena, who was perched on the end of the bed, and looking out the window in front of her. "Can't sleep either?" he asked the Psyduck, yawning. Althena nodded lightly, tilting her head to the side. "Glad I'm not alone then," he smiled, swinging his legs over the side of the bed and slipping his shoes on. He pulled a simple, clean white t-shirt from his backpack and pulled it on, standing up. He ran a hand through his hair in an attempt to straighten it, but gave up rather quickly. "Maybe we could do some late-night training," he suggested idly, looking to the Psyduck once more. "I doubt the gym will be in use now anyways." Althena seemed to mull it over for a moment before agreeing, her eyes wide in the moonlight. She raised an arm and pointed behind her trainer.
"Hmm?" Keegan turned slowly to find that Morgan was looking at him, still nestled on the blanket she'd been sleeping on. The Ponyta's flames were low, lighting the room like faint, glowing embers. "You want to come too, girl?" he asked, bending down to stroke her muzzle. Mori nodded and clambered to her feet, her flames rising up a bit as she did so. Deciding to let the others continue sleeping, Keegan led his two Pokemon out of the dormitory, Althena's feet making a slapping noise on the floor while Mori's hooves clip-clopped gently. As predicted, the gym was deserted, and the house lights were fairly low as well. After a bit of exploration, Keegan found the lighting panel, and turned on a few lights. He then turned to his two Pokemon, and nodded. "All right you two, let's start by warming up." At their trainer's direction, the two Pokemon complied, and were soon trotting, stretching, and loosening up their bodies to prepare for their training.

Keegan watched Mori prancing around with a critical eye. The pony had great form and a lot of energy, and Keegan was reminded of Flannery's Rapidash back home, who had also come from his parents' breeding facility. As the young fire horse approached Althena and sniffed at her, he couldn't help but wonder if Mori was related to the gym leader's Rapidash.
"Okay ladies, listen up," he called out to them, clapping his hands once. Althena, who'd been trying to touch her toes and failing miserably, looked up, scratching her side and placing her other hand on the side of her head. Mori simply trotted towards the redhead, flicking her flaming tail and happily scattering embers around her. "Althena, I want to work on your psychic abilities a bit, and Mori, we're going to work on the new move you just learned. Sound good?" The two Pokemon nodded, exchanging glances. "First of all, Althena, I want you to start off with a Water Sport. Make the ground around you wet, so that way any flames that do reach you will be pretty much harmless." The Psyduck nodded, realizing that her trainer was right, even though she had absolutely no fear of fire. She opened her mouth, shooting a small stream of water into the air above her head, laughing a bit as it came down on her head, drenching herself in water and soaking the floor around her.
Keegan then placed his hand on Mori's back; gently leading the fire pony away from the water works, stopping when they were about twenty-five feet away. "All right Mori," Keegan said softly, bending down so he was at eye-level with the small pony. "Remember that TM I taught you earlier? It's called Flamethrower, and it allows you to channel your flames into a powerful blast. Understand?" Mori nodded, pawing the gym floor with an impatient hoof. Standing up, Keegan took a few steps back. He wasn't expecting Mori to be perfect with the new move, and as he said "Flamethrower!" in a commanding voice, he came to realize he was right.

The pony's mane and tail flames flared up, and she reared back on her hind legs, bringing down her forelegs hard on the ground. A wild blast of flames went forward, but were scattered over a large area, too large and unruly to be considered an actual Flamethrower. Keegan nodded a bit; for it hadn't been as bad as he thought it would be. She had the right idea about how to use her flames, but she needed to work on controlling them in order to create a steady stream of fire.
Althena had been completely unscathed by the wild fire, although she did feel a bit of the heat on her body as an aftereffect. The Psyduck sprayed a bit more water out, wondering how quickly Mori would grasp the idea of using the move. Then again, the Psyduck had no real clue; after all, she didn't have open flames kicking up from her body.
"Try again, Mori! Try focusing the fire into a smaller, more concentrated burst," he told her. "Althena, shoot a Water Gun to show Mori what kind of a shape she needs to be aiming for." Althena nodded, and turned to the side, not wanting to use the attack in the direction of her trainer and teammate. She opened her mouth and let out a jet of water, putting a bit of force into it to make it wider. While the Water Gun itself was smaller in diameter than a normal Flamethrower, it did get the point across. Mori watched with delight, stamping her hooves in approval. An idea of what she was aiming for in mind, she reared back again, letting the flames swirl about her body before she directed them forward. This time, it looked a lot better. The flames started out in the correct shape, but quickly billowed out of control, and once again came nowhere near Althena.
