Oh.
I'm building together an entire Army, with tanks and everything. I have a Leman Russ, the ordinary one, not the one with Plasma Side Sponsers and I'm wondering what tank to get next. I'm thinking either Basilisk or Chimera.
Plus, if possible I'll post up some pictures of my Standard Bearer on the Painting Forum. Crazy. I've been playing this game for 2 and a bit years and already I paint top notch models. xp

Seeing as you cannot see the difference between a Leman Russ and a Demolisher ("the one with Plasma Side Sponsons"), it's best to read up first.

Lt. Brookman You sir need to be more careful with your replies. The Imperial Guard can thrive without tanks, it can. Not a Midevil themed army with warrior weapons. Quote: Be effing constructive instead of downright beating it down like that. If the guy wants to make a midevil themed army I'll support him and give a few ideas for what I think are neat ways to work some kind of midevil weapondry into his army to replace the tanks he can't have since he already said he had gotten rid of the normal ranged weapondry. But if he wants to get hung up on the fact that a catapult can't take a hit from a lascannon that is where my support ends. I mean no s**t a real catapult can't take a missle hit like a tank!!!! That's why catapults aren't on the battlefield but tanks still are. So he has the 3 options that I laid out which are 1. Make a different theme for the army whic would allow him to make an army that isn't constrained by the theme he picked out 2. Mantain internal consistancy. This would make his army more "realistic" but it would also leave him with an army made completly of WS 4 SV 4+ guardsmen with 2 close combat weapons. Not exactly the most fearsome force on the field 3. Realize that there are rules for the game that assume that these armies are fighting in the 41st millenium on some nameless rock not in 10th century Italy. And that compromises must be made because plausability went out the window the second he said midevil themed. I wasn't being a d**k because he decided to play a theme army (A move that I support cause it can be a ton of fun and really add allot to your army) but because he refused to make a compromise with the basic rules of the game.

Yea you do. Unless he's fielding an all tank army which is something I do not think is wise judging from his lack of experience...

I'm not actually sure how to beat an AC army. Or an Iron Warriors one. The overuse of tanks is what I would consider beardy. But that's just me.
To play AC, they need my permission. I'd not give it unless I felt I could beat it.

-Mykal Well some armies can and some can't cope for example my AC lost to tau because of all of their heavy weapons. I lost to death guard two because of a flying daemon prince. I lost to speed freaks because well I lost first turn and they were on top of me by then... AC can win but there are quite a few list that are quite good at ripping them apart.

I do not have a lack of experience!!! scream
Jesus Tapdancing Christ! You forget ONE tank name and suddenly your the kid! gonk
Well as you can see, the only thing I have in short supply is anger management.
I have a Core Army! And I'm getting tanks as a support element!
And I can see the difference between a Leman Russ and a Leman Russ: Demolisher. One of them has a heavier cannon than the other. Guess which one.
Now shut the hell up.
Back to my last question: Basilisk or Chimera!?

Yeah, they seem shitting hard to beat.
