Aww. It isn't very fun when noone plays by the rules or don't follow them very well. Hopefully they'll shape up their game and you can have fun again. RPing is great when you have creative minds.
Characters that are invincible always kinda suck. They never die so there is not reason to keep watching. Like Superman VS Batman. Batsy is way cooler since he has several weakness while Superman is weak to a nonexistant glowing green rock. rolleyes

Well they do follow the rules, they just bend them to suit their needs. stare Although if you ask me, it's the same as cheating.
I mean, in D&D terms, no first level character should be able to do 30+points of damage in one hit. That's freaking ridiculous! gonk

Wow. That is some pretty huge bending. How could you even do that? Equip super weapons or something? That is ridiculus. They should hit like 1-10 or something like that.

You roll dice to see how much damage you do. At least thats the gist of the damage system.

Not really an online gamer myself. whee
I thought about it during our gaming session last night, and my DM has a great way of balancing out overpowered Player Characters. Since he is, in fact, my husband, he does occaisionally share some 'laughable' info with me, (which of course I keep to myself). Like for instance, when other characters recieve cursed items, or what things not to touch in an upcoming room. rofl Good times, those. blaugh

Melphaligal the Challama You roll dice to see how much damage you do. At least thats the gist of the damage system. Correction. You roll dice for everything. The point of the system is to get high enough rolls to beat whatever challenge you are facing. Example: Let's say an orc has 17 AC. AC stands for Armor Class, meaning how high of a roll you need to actually hit it. You will use a D20 to figure if you hit it. At first glance getting a 17 or above would seem way too unlikely right? Well, you have attack modifiers that weapons and natural levels give you. Pertend you're base attack bonus is +5 and you have a sword that grants you +4. That 17 is looking alot more obtainable now isn't it? You roll, then, if you hit it, roll whatever type of die for that specific weapon.
