OK, what to say, what to say...
Hi everyone, my name's Joy. I love the fishing game, so you might have seen me in a fishing room somewhere. My other favorite Gaian forum hangouts are LD, and LI.
I'm learning right now that it's never too late to come out of the closet. My own sexuality is kind of complicated. I suppose I'm technically 'bi', but that would suggest an equal attraction to males and females, which really isn't the case. I've always been much more attracted to ladies.
Anyhow, due to years of being in severe denial, never-ending self hatred, horrible religious 'guidance', and other really ridiculous circumstances, I somehow managed to make it to age 35 before finally sitting down and saying, "...OK, enough is enough. It's time to admit it." So, a few weekends ago, I came out to my mother. smile This is probably something I should have done as a teenager, but I was too busy pretending to myself I was 'straight like everyone else'. (Note: Denial is a very stupid coping mechanism. Don't try this at home.)
The relief's been incredible. For the first time in my life, I feel...real. I feel free of the burden of pretending. Which is why I'm here. smile Again, hello.
