The tribe moved swiftly during the day, but they needed defenders against the dark of night. A few adults volunteered to keep watch over the group, two shifts a night, forgoing the full night of sleep that others needed. Guards the Night was amongst these few, and unlucky enough to be the first defender when a pack of wolves attacked. She kept them at a distance until help arrived and she and her fellow guard were able to drive them off, but she sustained a number of injuries. Fixed! But for future reference, there's no need to post for a database correction after a cert fix since it will automatically happen when the database gets updated. The database gets updated in the order that certs get dropped so there is a time delay since all kin are manually entered.

"It's good," he insisted, irately shoving the still warm corpse up the smooth, flat rock. The caiman had put up a good fight, but he'd won in the end, and now it was time for a ... ritual of sorts. It wasn't for the sake of any sort of belief or spirituality, however; it was simply for a tongue with a certain taste, no matter how grisly it might have seemed.
"It's ... different," he explained to his companion as he arranged it carefully, head of the thing on the lower end of the downward slope. "It makes me feel warm, and it tastes great. You eat meat, don't you? So ... it's not that strange, is it?"
The young totoma hopped down, nosing a darkly stained, roughed out bowl to the bottom of the rock. It was hewn out of a knot of wood, and clearly had seen some good use in its time under his ownership. Soon he was back on the stone, however, tilting his head to grip and rip viciously at his kill's throat. He snorted impatiently as the crimson stream began to rivulet down the surface into his collection receptacle, and tilted his head back with a flick of the ear at his companion.
"It takes a little while, but it's worth it."
