"All set on this end, cargo secured. Over." One man said into his walkie talkie as he walked down the cargo ramp near the bottom of the ship.

"Roger. All other preparations are done, ready to set underway in five. Over." A voice chimed in through the other end.

The lines were cast off he bollards and brought up the side of the ship, the anchor chain loudly scraped the metal as it was pulled in rapidly through the windlass and the ship rocked slightly as it started to drift a little more freely from the pier. The horn blew loudly as the pier workers cleared the area, the sailors on deck scurried about as the final preparations were put in place and everything was secured. Just like that it was all over, and the ship lurched to life as it crawled forward away from land and out towards the open sea. So very slowly at first, but soon it would gain speed and head for it's destination in full force. It was too late now, no one was getting on the ship, and no one was getting off. The cargo hold was quiet, a few workers walked around documenting every serial number on every box and crate, making sure that everything was accounted for. Not that it mattered, if they had forgotten something they wouldn't have been able to go back to get it. But triple checking what has already been triple checked must have been one of the only things to do aboard a ship. Soon the workers were gone, and there was nothing but silence and darkness in the depths of the ship. Creaked and groaned as it rocked back and fourth, the constant whir of the engines the only sound to drown it out somewhat. Up above where the guests were, it was probably a lot nicer and more hospitable. Music shows and all sorts of things to contain the noise, anything to make people forget that they were in fact on a vessel reminded only by the view of the ocean. But down in the pits of a ship where the glamour was not needed, the true identity of the vessel was without a mask, but it had it's own wonderment if one were into the art of industry. In the midst of all the clockwork and steam though there was a sound that shouldn't have been. In the corner of one of the piles of crates sat one in articular, that while accounted for and in it's proper place, it carried improper cargo. The wood complained as it was strained from the inside, and one of the panels bulged out with every odd thump from within. It was a wonder what a couple of neglected crates and a set of tools could do for a man with the determination to use them properly, or rather improperly. One thump, two thumps, three, until finally the side of the crate popped open and a mini sea of packing peanuts came pouring out, along with it a tall blond young man who was coughing up a storm. Packing peanuts did not make for good breathing, and the blond male was so very thankful that the crate h chose to hide in didn't get put into the center of the cluster, otherwise he'd never have gotten out. He brushed himself off, getting to work on pushing all the spilled out contents back into the crate. Sure it was a pain in the a** and he'd rather leave it a it was. But secrecy was key, sneaking onto a cruise ship would do no good if they discovered there was an intruder. He'd be found out eventually once they did a full sweep, so erasing every trace was necessary. Once he cleaned up his mess, the next step would be to get up on deck and blend in with the rest of the cruise guests. He was a man determined, and he would not fail now. Escape, that was all that mattered right now. Self preservation. And yet, his thought could only go back to the raven haired girl he'd left behind.

The entire Pokémon Center was dark save for a few lights here and there, which was to be expected. Just because it was normal, however, didn't mean that Lottie had to like it. The Riolu crept along the darkened halls silently, stopping with every slight noise she heard and trying hard to pretend like she wasn't scared of the dark at all – she was a tough Fighting-type, after all! It did help that she could simply close her eyes and use her other senses to guide her, and the Riolu felt a little more at ease after her repeated scanning of the immediate area around her showed that she was alone. The darkness didn't last too long, however, as the Riolu turned a corner and found herself blinking into the dim, yet seemingly harsh light from the Pokémon Center lobby. She could see that a nurse was seated behind the desk, apparently reading something on a small, back-lit screen. Lottie raised a paw, once again reaching out with her senses and she quickly realized it was a different nurse than the one that had taken care of her before. The little Fighting-type was relieved to see that this new nurse seemed to be just as nice as the first one.

The Riolu gave a great yawn as she continued to tiptoe down the hall. This Pokémon Center was laid out much like the one they'd stayed in when they stopped at Castelia City for the night, and after a bit of remembering, Charlotte picked out what was most likely the right way to where the Trainer's quarters were located. As it turned out, she was correct – soon she was able to hear the sounds of light snoring from the various rooms up ahead. With a quiet sigh, the Riolu once again raised her tiny paw and began to sense the Auras around her. None of them were familiar and for a moment, Lottie started to panic. It didn't last long; however, as soon the frightened Riolu had reached the last room and was delighted to find herself greeted with Juliet's familiar Aura. She'd know her trainer's Aura anywhere – it shone a lovely light purple and always felt warm and inviting. Lottie gave a little cry of relief as she reached the door. It was open just a crack, but a crack was all the stealthy Riolu needed to gain entry into the room.

Juliet's rhythmic breathing was music to the Emanation Pokémon's ears as she crept silently across the floor to the only occupied bed in the room. The girl was sound asleep but that was okay – she'd wake up to a nice sight the next morning! Using her strong little legs, Lottie hopped up onto the bed and studied her Trainer for a moment. She could sense Juliet's worry even in her sleep. Lottie sighed and patted her human's cheek before finding her way under the covers. Now warm and comfy, it didn't take long for the little Fighting-type to fall asleep again.

The pinsir was truly a scary opponent and it mad Kressen very happy he had the type advantage. Otherwise the battle would be going south really fast. Gigas was barely dodging a barrage of vice grip attacks, that if they hit they'd clearly leave a mark. At one point Gigas had dodged and the Pinsir had crushed a small tree. "Keep dodging Gigas!" Yelled Kressen as Gigas ran around basically screaming in terror from the big bug type. They didn't have the time to counter attack.

"Now you see the true power of bug types. Muhahahaha!" The bug catcher was having a grand time seeing the battle go in his favor for once. It was only a matter of time before they caught the little fire type. Kressen gulped as the clamping pincers kept getting closer and closer to Gigas who seemed to be tiring out. They were at a full sprint around the forest floor now and the battle would end soon.

Kressen suddenly thought of a risky idea. "Gigas drop down now!" Gigas obeyed without a second thought and the bug type tripped right over his form and its pincers slammed into the ground getting caught. The bug catchers laughter turned to a cry of dismay. "Now Gigas use Ember again and again!" Gigas jumped back up onto his feet and gave a little roar and shot three barrages of ember at the struggling Pinsir before it stopped struggling and simply fell limp as it passed out.

"We did it Gigas! Great job!" The bug catcher couldn't take the loss of a clean sweep and ran off after recalling his pokemon. Chasing after him to apologize would be a bad idea so Kressen simply gave Gigas a low five. "I think we're ready for the Gym now buddy. Let's go!"

Kasiya was a little disappointed by the fact that the remainder of the trip to Violet City went by without incident, but at the same time, it was also a little bit relieving to get back to normal trainer stuff. She also couldn't help but notice that she actually felt more than a little bit tired from the trek and she wondered if it was from all the flying from place to place rather than biking and walking, like she used to do when she was first starting out. She was oblivious to Ben's unease, nodding along almost mindlessly as the younger trainer mentioned the points of interest in the city. She gazed up at the tower, wondering if it would be a good place to train with Wednesday since other Ghost-types lived there, but at the same time all she wanted to do was get to the gym and get another badge under her belt. The thought of Mike having more badges than she did weighed heavily on her mind. Sure, they weren't exactly in direct competition with each other, but knowing she was behind was more than enough fuel to make her want to work harder than ever.

"If it's all the same to you, I wouldn't mind heading straight for the gym," Kasiya said finally, almost sure she could feel the Pokeballs on her belt shaking with excitement, particularly Alphonse's. The little Piplup needed a boost to his confidence, and Kasiya was sure that a gym battle (even if it was the first leader in the region) was just the thing to do it.

"I... I remember," Jaeshan said quietly, letting out a shaky breath.

"What?" a still-panicked Lisa asked, looking at the blond boy with wide, frightened eyes.

"I remember... everything," he repeated, opening his eyes. The calm expression he wore was both relieving and unnerving at the same time. He inhaled deeply and shifted his position on the ground, as his legs were beginning to feel weak and tingly from all of his weight being on them. "My parents' yacht... it was... we came across..." He sighed and closed his eyes briefly as he tried to put his racing thoughts into words. "We came across Gyarados," he said, nodding to the blue-haired girl. "Two of them. They were fighting. They caused a massive wave of water and I was knocked overboard. I remember thinking I was going to drown, and feeling helpless, and then after that, Professor Rowan had found me on the shores of Sandgem Town. I guess I hit my head or something, but I remember everything now. Seeing your Gyarados brought it all rushing back to me."

Unsure of what to say, Lisa just nodded along as Jaeshan spoke. She'd gone a bit pale as he recounted his near-drowning experience, and she too couldn't help but wonder how he'd gotten from Kanto to Sinnoh, and so fast, at that. "I, uh, I don't know what to say," she said finally, voicing her only real thought on the matter. "I'm just glad you're okay."

"It's okay. You don't have to say anything," Jaeshan said, placing his hand on Grotle's head. "I'm honestly not sure what to say myself." He forced a laugh, and then the three were left in an awkward sort of silence.

"So... what are you going to do now?" Lisa asked once about five minutes have passed. "Are you going to go back to Hoenn? Or Kanto? You were working on the league badges there, weren't you?"

"I... I honestly don't know," Jaeshan said, having taken his time to give Lisa an answer. The two had since recalled any lingering Pokemon to their proper Pokeballs and were en route back to the Pokemon Center. It was a very overwhelming feeling, to go from having no memories to most of them in a matter of moments, and right now, all Jaeshan wanted to do was go and find a quiet room to lie down in as his head felt as though it had been on the wrong end of a Mega Punch.

Lisa, meanwhile, followed alongside her friend in an odd mixture of glee and worry and curiosity. Countless questions filled her mind but she kept them to herself, as she knew that Jae was still in a very delicate state and she didn't want to upset him. For now, she'd just have to be thankful that he was mostly himself again. The Pokemon Center itself wasn't overly busy and they only had to wait about ten minutes before they could turn in their Pokemon for treatment. "Well," she said finally, smiling brightly at the tall blond. "Whatever it is you decide, I'm sure it will all work out. And I'm here for you, one-hundred and fifty percent."

Jaeshan returned the girl's smile. "Thanks, Lisa. That means a lot." He motioned for her to find them a place to wait for the return of their Pokemon and he headed to the small row of vending machines, returning several minutes later with bottles of water as well as an armful of snacks. A bit later after they'd stuffed themselves silly with junk food and talked some, mostly Lisa prompting the conversation by talking about the battles they'd had before today - Jaeshan admittedly did not remember them at first, but as the blue-haired girl described the matches, the memories came drifting back to him in pieces until he too was smiling and laughing and adding his own bits to the stories. "I know I need to go home, and see my parents," he said finally, his voice undertaking a somber tone as he thought of the faces of his parents; the freshest recollection of them being the photographs he'd seen on the computer screen when he and Jade had 'Googled' him (the word still and would continue to make him snicker from now until his end of days). As much as he was excited for this reunion, a much larger, and impressively more selfish part of him didn't want to make the return trip to Hoenn without Jade at his side. And what if, by some miracle or heavenly intervention or sheer dumb luck, Jade was able to escape her captors and come looking for him, and he wasn't in Eterna - or even in Sinnoh, for that matter. What then? Of course, the smarter, more-logical part of his brain was well aware of the fact that Jade knew his hometown as well as he did, and that she was more than clever enough to track him down if she tried hard enough. Even still, the painful, guilt-eaten hole he felt in his stomach wouldn't give him any peace, and he knew he couldn't return to Littleroot Town. Not just yet.

Yet again, Lisa was unable to think of anything essential to say so she just nodded, carefully collecting the wrappers and baggies from their unhealthy mid-afternoon snack to throw out while the blond boy seemed to be temporarily lost in his thoughts. It easily occurred to her that he was thinking about Jade - where she was, who had taken her, if she was alright - and as much as she'd wanted to reassure him, she didn't think it would help any. After dumping the trash (and also returning with two trays of Pokeballs, as their Pokemon were long-since healed) she placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. "I know, Jae, I know. Jade's a smart girl... a bit on the snippy side but definitely smart. And strong. And did I mention snippy? She'll find a way to contact you, when she can." Lisa couldn't begin to imagine how Jaeshan must be feeling, as he'd been given an awful lot to deal with in such a short time and she really didn't know how to help him, other than just being there for him. "Is there, um. Is there anything I can do, Jae? I want to help, but I don't know how."

A short time and some good directions from Ben later, Kasiya found herself standing outside what must have been the tallest gym she'd seen thus far. After a brief stop at the Pokemon Center, Ben had decided to remain behind, which Kasiya believed to be due to his nerves. He had urged her to go on ahead, and Kasiya had replied by telling him he was welcome to follow if he changed his mind, and as she stared up at the building, she couldn't help but feel a slight twinge of nervousness herself.

She shook it off rather quickly, however, and soon was hauling open the doors with her usual confidence. "This is it, Alphonse," she said quietly, patting the little Penguin Pokemon's Pokeball. "This is gonna be your day to shine." She wasn't quite sure what to expect when she entered the main room, but there wasn't a whole lot of anything, except for a small platform with a lever. "I guess we go up," she murmured, stepping onto the platform and bracing herself before she gave the lever a pull. As expected, the platform began to ascend, faster and faster until it reached a stop, with its lone passenger giggling from the intense vertigo the short trip had caused. After having so many exciting flights with a slightly deranged Crobat, Kasiya felt she was fairly desensitized to the whole heights-thing now.

The upper area of the gym featured a fairly narrow walkway, beyond which Kasiya could see the battlefield and the area where this Falkner fellow presumably was. She could also see a few trainers blocking the path to him, and she smiled, realizing that this could also be a good time to give Pepper her battling debut. Plus, if things get hairy, I can always send out Nova to end things quickly, she thought, carefully making her way along the walkway.
=-=-=-=-=

Jaeshan had definitely smirked when Lisa called Jade snippy - that was one of the biggest understatements he'd heard recently, and hearing her continued want to help him was heartwarming, to say the least. He didn't know what to tell her, as he didn't really know how to help himself, either. One thing did cross her mind, however, and he thought back to all of the training he'd been doing over the past few days, both with and without Jade. "Actually, there is one thing," he said, standing up purposefully. "The whole reason I - we even came to Eterna City in the first place was to take on the gym. I didn't feel ready before, but I am now. And as much as it hurts me to go on without her, Jade would want me to. In fact, I can almost hear her yelling at me for being stupid and sentimental right now." He chuckled a bit, but it did a poor job of covering up his sadness.

Lisa's expression brightened at the mention of the gym. Not too long ago, she'd been there herself and the thought of watching Jaeshan wreck a gym leader in battle was quite exciting. "Sounds like a solid plan to me," she said, nodding enthusiastically. "I think a gym battle is just what you need, y'know? Work off a bit of stress, get your Pokemon some experience, and a nifty new badge isn't such a bad thing, either!" She reached into her pocket and produced her very own Sinnoh-region badge case, and clicked it open to reveal four perfectly polished badges. "Besides, you've got some catching up to do, Jae!"

The sight of Lisa's badges almost made Jaeshan's jaw drop and he only just managed a somewhat meek smirk in response. "Is that a challenge?" he asked with a chuckle, and once Lisa had put her badge case away and the two trainers had gathered up all of their belongings, they headed back outside and started to make their way toward the gym. Jaeshan also couldn't help but wonder what had happened to his badges: had they been lost when he'd fallen overboard? Would the Pokemon League give him replacements if that were the case? His thoughts were still swirling when they reached the front doors, and the pair paused as the blond boy studied the signs posted outside.

"What, are you nervous?" Lisa asked, her tone a little teasing. Jae didn't answer her; he appeared to be lost in thought again. The blue-haired girl smiled and waited, unable to stop herself from wondering what might be going through his mind right now. He seemed to find his courage, however, and grinned at her as he pushed open the front doors.

Kasiya wasn't naive enough to assume that her entrance to the gym and ascension to the upper floor had gone unnoticed, and she wasn't surprised to see a boy wearing a blue uniform with thick sleeves start to approach her as she reached a wider, sort-of makeshift mini-arena on the walkway. "If you're here to see Falkner, first you'll have to beat me," he said, holding up a Pokeball.

Kasiya smiled at this - business as usual - and she held up the gold-decorated Luxury Ball. "I wasn't expecting anything less," she said, her tone confident, but not cocky.

The bird-keeper returned her smile. "Good. My name's Abe, and this'll be a one on one!" He flicked his wrist and a second later the red and white sphere burst open to reveal a Spearow. It hopped up and down a few times before scratching at the floorboards with its sharp talons.

"Kasiya," the blonde replied, hoping that she wasn't making a mistake in sending out her young Minccino. The fluffy grey Chinchilla Pokemon appeared in a flash of light, looking happy and energetic, as usual - at least until she noticed the dusty state of the floor around her and she flew into a frenzied fit of sweeping. "Pepper!" the girl sighed, shaking her head. "The floor isn't important right now! You're in a battle!" The Minccino looked up at her trainer and then over at the impatient-looking bird, and then down at the floor again before offering a single whine in response. Kasiya sighed again. Couldn't anything be simple?

"Well, if they're just gonna goof around, we might as well make the first attack," Abe muttered, scratching his head at the sight of the Minccino furiously trying to clean the floor. "Spearow, get in there and give 'em a taste of your Peck attack!" The small bird ruffled its feathers and darted across the floor, giving the Minccino only enough time to register that it had invaded her personal space before delivering a sharp and painful jab of its beak to the top of her head.

It's like a forest in here, Jaeshan thought, feeling as though he hadn't just entered a building at all. Something about the indoor forest was so very familiar to him and it gave him pause as he stopped to study a tree that probably had no business growing so tall inside of a building. "I feel like I've been here before," he said, placing a hand on the bark. "Or not, here-here, but someplace like this."

Jaeshan's abrupt stop nearly caused Lisa to run smack into him but she managed to stop herself, glaring at the tree that he seemed to find so interesting. She'd huffed and puffed out her cheeks in annoyance and impatience, but his comment made her stop and think. "An indoor forest... you must be thinking of the gym in Celadon City," she said brightly. "The gym leader there is named Erika, and she uses Grass-types, too. I'd bet half of my badges that you've been there, and probably even beaten her, too!"

The tall blond made a face as he wracked his brains for the wayward memory yet again, and for a moment, his mind's eye caught a glimpse of a pretty girl, with short, well-kept dark hair and a colourful garment he couldn't quite put a name to - it started with the letter K, didn't it? He also remembered a very green, very flowery area, and some quick flashes from what must have been a gym battle, but that was about it. "I... I don't know," he sighed, rubbing his temples with his thumb and index finger and looking both exhausted and irritated. "I really can't stand this not-remembering thing."

Lisa smiled warmly. "It's okay, Jaeshan. It'll come back to you, I'm sure of it. Your brain is probably just protecting itself from getting overloaded with all sorts of new information. You just need time to process, is all. If you're not ready for this-"

"I'm ready," Jaeshan interrupted, stepping back from the tree. He breathed slowly for a few moments before nodding at the blue-haired girl. "I'm ready." And with that, the pair ventured into the impressive indoor forest.

Aaaannndd-
"Aaaaannnnd-" Boom. The improvised Rock Tomb did its job. Pumpkin slowly floated down to the ground, unable to take any more punishment. Mike giggled, but not out of malice. "Excellent! Well done! Such resilience from such a cute little candle!" Mike raised the Litwick's Pokeball to recall it, but the rocks made that difficult. "One moment, Brock." Dancing over the wreckage, Mike knelt down and scooped up his little ghost. "Lucky the intangibility thing requires consciousness, hm?" he said mostly to himself. Returning to his side with similar flair, the boy gave Pumpkin a kiss, then returned him to the ball. Mike stood there, rocking back and forth on his feet, a proud and dopey grin on his face.

You have another one, you know.
"Hm?"
You're in a gym battle, and you have another Pokemon to send out.
"...right!" He turned to Brock. "Whoops! Got a little lost there. Heh, you know how it is."
He likely doesn't. Mike rummaged through his brain as he thought of his next combatant.
"Uh...."
Camerae. You wanted to send out Camerae.
"I did! Yes, yes." He took out the fossil's Pokeball. "Funny thing, this Pokemon." Mike said to the Gym Leader. "Kind of my weakness, you see. Both types I'm not very good with. Neither of them very flammable, but goodness is he cute!" He let the Pokeball fly. In a flash, the Spiral Pokemon was released, and looked around the gym with his large, curious eyes.

"At least, I think he's a he."
The phantoms collectively shrugged.

"I'm sorry!" Cindy wailed.
"Don't be sorry, silly. Attack!" Sasha balled her fists. "Z'his is war! You must seize every opportunity! Take every advantage! So, oui, kick my sleeping mouse while its down." Though not exactly thrilled with the idea, Cindy ordered Adkins to do just that. One Pound attack. Two Pound attacks. Three Pou-okay that's quite enough of that. The second having jolted him, awake, Omelette returned the favor by blowing bubbles in the Jigglypuff's face, then quickly standing while it fluttered away. He really needed to learn a more 'punch you in the face' attack. Thankfully, his increased defenses, tough hide, and Jigglypuff's tendency to hit like with the same force as a wet paper bag, really softened those last two blows.

"Rise and shine, Omelette! It's Roulade time again!" Adkins and Cindy both frowned as the entirely eager Marill once again made impromptu roadkill of his opponent. This time, the Jigglypuff wasn't getting back up. Cindy pouted, recalling her Pokemon. Sasha stood expectantly, but no other Pokemon was released. Oh. Oh, z'hat must be her only one.

"You win, Sasha!" Cindy said, letting out a deep breath she seemed to be holding in from the start. "I was hardly a challenge, huh?"
"Oh, non non, ma cherie!" Sasha hurried over to her friend. "You and Adkins did wonderful, Trés manifique! Omelette was on h'ees last leg, oui?" She looked over at her Marril, who raised an eyebrow.

What? No he wasn't. He was doing totally fin-oh. The murderous glare he received from his trainer clued him in. Omelette let out a weak cry and flopped over to the ground. He felt like a total fool, but it was sure better than being dead.

"That's okay, I'm not disappointed," Eva said in her continually cheerful voice as she recalled her Staraptor. Riza wasn't surprised, but a little relieved. "Your Fearow looks tough, this should be fun! First up, I choose you, Swellow!" Eva threw her poke ball high into the air and a blue and red bird, smaller than Plua emerged, giving a loud cry as she flapped her wings.

"So does your, um..." Riza paused, giving her pokedex a quick check. "Swellow. This should be a good battle," she agreed. "You can have the first move," she added, watching her own flying-type. Plua seemed to be particularly grumpy today, probably from spending so much time confined to her poke ball recently but that was the least of Riza's worries right now. She felt a bit of regret as she watched the Beak Pokemon ruffle her feathers to try and intimidate her opponent, but Eva's Swellow didn't appear to care at all.

"Alrighty! You might regret that though!" Eva also didn't seem to care (or notice) Riza's Fearow's bad attitude. "Swellow, it's time to get psyched! Use Focus Energy!" The blue and red bird gave a loud cry and flapped its wings, a bright, energetic red glow covering its whole body as it flew up and returning Plua's grouchy look with a determined one of her own.

"I seriously doubt that," Riza said, finally allowing herself to smirk. "Plua, use Mirror Move." The Fearow gave a nasty sounding squawk and ruffled her feathers again as she followed the Swellow into the sky, the same red energy engulfing her body as she continued to glare daggers at her opponent.

Seraphim's Leech Seeds spiraled through the air and planted themselves firmly onto the machoke's muscle bound body, causing the large, greyish Pokemon to wince. It only lasted a second and soon it was glaring at the small, flowery Pokemon with a murderous intent in its eyes. "Machoke, Karate Chop," the martial artist commanded, undeterred by the vines that had sprouted from the seeds. Giving a roar, the large fighting-type charged forward, swinging downward with a quick, sharp chop that caught both Katie and the Roselia by surprise. The Thorn Pokemon cried out and stumbled back, though she looked more offended than hurt by the strike.

"Time to slow that big lug down," the orange haired girl called, quite thankful for all the time she'd invested in trainer's school. She knew that Seraphim's poison-typing made her resist the Machoke's fighting-type attacks, so they had an advantage there. She just hoped it didn't know something like Fire or Ice Punch. "Give 'em a taste of your Stun Spore!" Seraphim nodded, still looking a bit intimidated by the larger fighting-type and she did a twirl, her rose hands once again glowing as this time they released a glimmering, golden powder. 'Wow,' Katie thought. 'Seraph's so pretty when she uses her spore attacks. I bet she'd do well in a contest.'

The Stun Spore carried through the air and settled itself around the Machoke, who tried uselessly to punch it away. Right away the muscular Pokemon could feel his body locking up on him and he shivered as he was brought down to his knees. The martial artist narrowed his eyes. "Focus Energy, Machoke! Remember our training!" The Superpower Pokemon gave a nod and closed his eyes and began to focus. They wouldn't be done in by this dainty little flower!
* * * * *
Brock gave a respectful nod as the Litwick was collected and returned to its poke ball. Meanwhile, Geodude drifted back toward his master, no expression on its rocky face. After a few moments passed and Mike had not sent out a second Pokemon, Brock raised an eyebrow. 'No, seriously, what is going on with this kid?' he thought, watching with a sort of confused amusement as his challenger seemed to remember he was supposed to send out his next Pokemon. Not sure of what else to say, he gave a nod. "Take your time."

The sight of the Omanyte was surprising, but Brock couldn't help but grin as he was in complete agreement with Mike's assessment of the Pokemon being cute. After all, he had raised a proud and well, not exactly noble Omastar as well as its fossil cousin, the deadly Kabutops. Come to think of it, neither of those Pokemon had seen the light of day recently and he decided to correct that later. At the very least, he knew what to expect from the small Pokemon, and he always loved to see his challengers using rock-types.

"Magnitude," the gym leader called, since Mike appeared to not be making a move. Geodude gave a hearty grunt and pounded his strong fists against the floor, causing it to rumble and shake. Time would tell what power the Magnitude would be, but the experienced gym leader already knew that it wasn't nearly as powerful as he would have liked it to be.

"Hmmm. Take the hit, Camerae! It shouldn't do too much, anyway." The ground beneath the Omanyte rattled and rolled. While it was not very damaging, the shellfish's top-heavy shell won out in the end, and Camerae flopped to the ground. Mike chuckled. What a cutie.
How mean are you feeling?
He paused. "At the moment? Not exceedingly. Brock seems like a cool guy. No need to be excessive."
Despite that being pretty much your middle name.
"It's Gian, thank you very much." Mike waited until Camerae had righted himself before commanding a Water Gun. No Surf this time. After all, no need to be mean about it.

The Omanyte took aim and raised its many, stubby tentacles, shooting a stream of water at the Geodude.

"That outta do it."

Cindy smiled at Sasha's sweet, but rather obvious attempt at being modest. "It's okay. I'm not upset or anything. I only just started, and you've been at this a while."
"Sometimes I feel like I've been at z'his too long." Oh look at her go, now. She was starting to sound like Bishop.
"You must have had plenty of fun adventures, though!"
"One or two."
"I can only do this in my free time. Work eats up the rest. You know how it is." Sasha blinked. Having never had to work a day in her life, it took a moment for her brain to process an actual need for employment, and that it could cut into other things.
"Uh, oui!" She waved her hand. "Oui. Je sais. Je sais." Cindy once again grinned at Sasha's transparency.
"No need to pretend, Sasha." Cindy sighed. "Must be nice. Never having to worry about money. Being able to do whatever you want."
"It's not z'hat simple, sadly." Sasha replied. "It's nice, but it does have some drawbacks."
"Oh? Like what?"

"Ah, there you are, mademoiselle!" a familiar voice called out.

c**k-blocking butlers for starters. Sasha thought, lightly gritting her teeth.

The shriek of pain that followed was enough to send a nearby flock of Pidgey scattering to the winds yet for reasons unknown, the Venonat still did not flee. The sound of her trainer's pained cries and the thud of his body hitting the grass did succeed in getting Croconaw's attention, however; the half-chewed stick falling from her jaws as she looked over at Jasper. Okay, sure, she liked giving the stupid human a hard time - he was an easy mark, for one, and two, well, she knew he could take it. But this... this fuzzy purple thing had hurt him (even if he'd tried to hurt it first) and that just wouldn't fly with this particular gator. One feral growl later, the water type was on the attack, claws and fangs flashing as she prompted what was probably the first real emotion shown by the insect Pokemon since meeting it - utter terror.

Meanwhile, a slightly-dazed Jasper slowly brought himself to a sitting position, groaning as he gingerly touched his forehead - there was definitely a small bump forming, but no cut. "Right," he sighed, blinking a few times to try and right his vision. "Don't throw rocks at telekinetic insects, got it." He was quickly alerted to Croconaw's snarls and the Venonat's shrieks of pain and terror and he got to his feet, almost afraid to look. Despite those fears, he looked anyway, and actually laughed out loud when he saw his Pokemon trying to fit the Venonat's entire head inside her mouth. "Croconaw, that's enough," the boy managed between snorts of laughter, which wasn't at all helping with the painful throbbing of his forehead. Regardless, his desire to capture this intriguing insect was still strong and he readied yet another Park Ball - just how many did he have left, anyway. Croconaw hesitantly released her prey, but not before blasting in the face with a point-blank Water Gun.

"Third time or whatever's the charm," Jasper muttered, gritting his teeth as he threw the sphere at the debilitated Pokemon. He flinched almost immediately, fully expecting the ball to be sent on a return course for his face, but Croconaw's attacks(?) had been sufficient enough to weaken it. The purple Venonat disappeared with the trademark flash of light and the ball landed silently in the grass, shaking. Still checking his forehead, as he was certain it was going to start spurting blood at any minute, Jasper carefully crept toward it, realizing then that he was actually feeling both nervous and excited about this potential capture.

Some time and the memory of owning a bicycle later, Hayley rolled into Vermilion City - not quite literally, though she was quite taken in with the sight of the ocean twinkling on the horizon and nearly crashed her bike into the side of a building. The crisis was averted, however, and after a bit of sightseeing Hayley found her way to the Pokemon Center (it was generally the first stop for most trainers upon arriving in a new city) where she turned over her party for treatment - after all, Cynder might have scraped his knee when he fell, the poor dear. Hayley quickly noticed that Vermilion City seemed to be quite bustling and full of life, as even the Center had quite a few trainers presently in need of its services. She also couldn't help but notice that most of said trainers were talking about a fellow by the name of Lt. Surge.

"I'm tellin' you, Kaleb! The guy is frickin HUGE! And SCARY! I could hardly focus on the gym battle, what with him yellin' at me all the time. He was mean!" a boy with loud, red hair was currently speaking the loudest, and judging by the tone of his voice, had worked himself into a tizzy at the same time, much to the amusement of his friends.

"Then, is that why you lost, Brayden?" sneered a girl with a vibrant purple ponytail. "Cuz Lt. Surge is mean?"

The boy's face quickly turned to match his hair. "No Aria," he growled, clenching his fists. "Not because he's mean, it's his Raichu! That thing shoots off some wicked Thunderbolts!"

The kids all began chattering and trying to talk over each other at once, which was both amusing an annoying to Hayley. Her retrieval of her party from the nurse was interrupted by the latter hollering something fierce at the kids to quiet down or take it outside, which they did rather reluctantly. "Who's Lt. Surge?" the brunette asked curiously once the noise had relocated itself outside of the Pokemon Center.

The nurse made a little sound as she looked up from her computer screen. "Who's Lt. Surge?" she repeated with a scoff. "Missy, you must be new in town."

While most of the time Dante could keep a poker face that even put Keegan's to shame the fact that he also wasn't entirely sober caused him to quickly bite his bottom lip to keep from laughing. Dante was sure that laughing would earn him Keegan leaping across the table to beat him up, as it was he was still ending up with a bruised shin, if the night continued this way he would look like a life time original tv movie star. It was worth it of course as he watched Keegan fumble for for a second before the tables were turned on him. Clever boy Dante thought to himself as he was suddenly part of the prank in a way he had no intention of being in.

Dante didn't like being touched on the best of days, most of the time he tolerated this kind of thing with and slipped out of it as soon as he could. Ever since he was a kid he had never enjoyed the attention his mom shoved him into or strangers getting a little to grabby with him so when the stranger, well at least he knew his name Travis or something, when he grabbed his hair like that Dante felt his body stiffen up like a board for a moment before he turned a dark glare at the man who didn't seem to take the hint to back off. The auburn haired teen was about to turn violent on the man, not his usual M.O. but the redhead had a sometimes good, mostly bad influence on him, when the was startled by another hand touching him. Wiping his head around he looked down at Keegans rough hand covering his own and the nervous look on the others face.

Wait, hold on rewind for a moment.

What did Keegan just say. Worrying his bottom lip he gave Keegan a skeptical look as his mind tried to remember what exactly Keegan had said to him. When he finally worked it out a slight flush appeared on his checks he would blame the alcohol six ways to Sunday. Sure he had his fair share of strangers confess to him weird things but that was just it, they were strangers, it was odd when his friend, hell Keegan was probably the only person he would call a friend and wasn't that just sad? Fighting the urge to shake his head Dante cast a small glance at the two who were watching him with mild interest and mounting disbelief as he his silence continued. Well, as good of a liar as he was Dante's mind was drawing a bit of a blank here and he definitely wanted these guys gone. When all else failed Dante nothing got rid of people faster then awkward emotional stories that might have more truth in them then Dante was willing to admit.

Letting out a small nervous sound he carefully kept his dark eyes from the gazes of the others as he ran a free hand through his hair, skillfully knocking the others hand out of it, before looking up at Keegan. "Keegan... I, well. geeze... Well this is hard for me to say I mean. Your probably the only real friend I have and I dunno. I mean..." He paused for a second and frowned slightly trying to think of the best way to phrase this so it didn't become to close even for him. "You know I have relationship problems. All those people my Mom hooked up while I grew up. I just... I don't think I can deal with being close like that to anyone." stopping again he ran a hand through his hair again. The two guys who had come up to the table were starting to look very uncomfortable with the direction this conversation was going. "You have to understand I just, I... some of those guys weren't dating my Mom for her. I just don't really have any faith in relationships. It would be unfair to you, and even if I can't be with you the way you want I could never lose you as my best friend." Worrying his lip again he looked away and had to bite down pretty hard to suppress his smile as Travis and Carl made hasty excuses, no one wanted to hear about that kind of s**t when they were looking to get laid.

Just as the two escaped a waitress stopped by the table and laid down three shots for each of them. "Thank Arceus." Dante muttered and half giggled as he slipped a tip into the waitresses pocket and freeing his hand from Keegan's he picked up one of the shots and quickly poured down his throat. Smirking slightly he cast Keegan a slightly shaky grin. "Heh, sorry to get so depressing on you. The drinks did come in time though." He leaned back in the booth casting a the horrible singer a glance mostly for something to look at that wasn't his friend. "Hope you aren't to upset about that little prank. Went a little to far that time." He muttered before reaching for the second shot of mind numbing alcoholic liquid and after staring at it for a moment swallowed that down as well. "Bet you weren't expecting to get dumped tonight were you? Ah ******** it. You want to sing? Bet even with our horrible voices we will be the best performance of the night." Shrugging off his greatcoat he pulled the scarf off and left them both resting haphazardly on the chair before going dumping his last shot down his throat and headed over to the karaoke DJ. He had no idea on what song to pick, he figured the redhead would pick that whenever he decided to wonder over.

~~~~~~~~~
The two pokemon stared at each other through narrowed eyes. The water type had a toothy grin as it stared at the cool and somewhat standoffish Monferno. Black*Star felt like he had the field advantage with the muddy grass courtesy of the still battling Yanmega and Slowpoke. Not waiting a moment longer, Black*Star was ready to pummel this upstart up, he was on this team first and he was the better starter. Scrapping his claws on the ground in a sort of dance the mud at his feet now decorated with a star he felt his power gather through him as his Dragon Dance boosted him up all that much more.
It seemed like that was just what the Monferno was waiting for as the bright blue eyes brightened up like a fire was behind them and he let out a loud yawn and turned around showing his disinterest. Ok so Ace had secretly been practicing his Taunts ever since he had humiliated himself in Gardenia's gym. He grinned as he felt a wave of frustration and anger roll off of the aggressive Croconaw. The fire type knew how to play his cards right, despite how he generally looked disinterested in almost anything around him he had paid attention. He knew that this Pokemon followed his trainers so called battle style more so then him and just wanted nothing more then to just go on an all out aggressive assault. Well to bad for him.
Frustrated was one thing to say Black*Star was, grinding his razor sharp fangs together he was left somewhat floundering for a second, he mostly just attacked right away and now he felt physically in able to do exactly what he wanted. Suddenly a somewhat inspired idea came to him. The fire Pokemon was fast, he relied on his speed all the time, it probably couldn't even take one hit from a real Pokemon like Black*Star, all he had to do was take away his speed! Using a move he was pretty sure he had never used before Black*Star did his best to take advantage of his huge jaw and scary looking appearance to give a formidable Scary Face. The water type was delighted when a ghostly face appeared in front of him and went sailing right at the elusive fire type. The Monferno didn't seem to be too happy about that and let out an unhappy shriek as the face hit him and he glowed blue his speed successfully reduced.
Cindy grinned at Sasha's look of frustration, unaware to the entire reason behind it. "Well I better go. Celeste would hate to miss a call, similarly as I would hate to be thrown out on my butt." Sasha grimaced at the thought, playfully shooing the receptionist away.
"Let me know if you want to battle again!"
"I'll have to work really hard if I'm gonna stand a chance against you, Sasha, but expect a rematch from me soon!" Cindy waved, then hurried off.
"Au revoir, ma cherie!"
"(It appears a missed a decisive victory. How unfortunate.)" Bishop said, stepping forward. The butler glanced in Cindy's direction. "(Friend of yours?)"
"(Yeah, from the agency. She asked me to battle her when I was done with my shoot.)"
"(I'm sorry I missed it. I would have loved to see you battle.)"
"(Yeah...it was pretty cool.)" Sasha trailed off. "(Omelette did...really well.)"
"(Something the matter?)"
"(Nothing.)" she said, shaking her head. "(It's just that I spend so much time with my friends who could crush me with half their teams. I've seen them do all of these amazing things with their Pokemon and I always feel so outclassed. I guess I forgot that I've become kinda strong myself.)"
"(You have so much more power than you realize, Sasha.)" Bishop said, gently placing his hand on her shoulder.
Sasha chuckled. "(At least when I'm not compared to gym leaders, kids of gym leaders, boyfriends and ex-boyfriends of kids of gym leaders.)"
"(You mean other than Miss Erika?)"
"(Oh yeah. Lots!)" It then occurred to her that she had never really told Bishop about the friends she'd made since leaving home. Speaking of, her phone chimed. Probably best that she wait until she was by herself before answering, she thought to herself. Sasha recalled Omelette and the two began walking towards the Pokemon Center. Despite her best efforts, she shivered as a chill ran up her spine. Bishop smirked.
"(Artikodin is rather unhappy tonight, isn't it?)"
"(Shush you.)" Sasha pouted. Bishop allowed himself a slight chuckle. "(So anyway, there's Kasiya...)"
Every second that ticked by felt like a thousand as Keegan stared wide-eyed across the table at Dante. He could feel a cold sweat running down the back of his neck and his stomach had twisted itself into what must have been a noose, so all he'd have to do was reach down his own throat and he'd be able to hang himself when Dante threw him under the proverbial bus yet again. This time, however, the younger teen seemed to realize the severity of the situation and finally spoke up, rebuffing Keegan's affections somewhat politely. The latter only had to remove Carl's hand from his inner thigh not twice, but three times before the message started to sink in to all of them, and the two guys muttered what must have been lame excuses before scurrying away from the table with their tails between their legs as all this touchy-feely crap proved to be too much for them. Keegan let out a sigh of relief as the waitress finally brought them their drinks, and his head thunked against the cool surface of the table. "A little far?" he asked incredulously. "You think? ******** hell, Dante, that was awful. If you ever pull something like that again, I'll rip off your arm and beat you to death with it, understood?" he grumbled, though he probably would have sounded a lot more threatening had his voice not been muffled by the table.
The telltale sound of Dante setting down his first empty shot glass caused the redhead to jerk back up into a sitting position, and he grinned, rubbing his hands together before sliding his share of the drinks closer to him. He picked up the closest one, but he froze up completely when Dante mentioned getting dumped. His heart started to pound angrily in his chest and he was met with the sudden urge to flip the table, but he stopped himself as he wasn't in the mood to start a second bar fight in less than twenty minutes. The anger, aided by the alcohol already coursing through his blood stream, shifted to a sort of sarcastic amusement. "Don't worry about it," he scoffed, carefully swirling the liquid in the tiny glass. "It's not like-" he interrupted himself with a short fit of high-pitched giggles - "it's not like you went and picked a fire-breathing, mutant zombie over-" another shriek of laughter -"me!" It took a few tries for him to stifle his giggling, and when he did, he downed all three shots, one after another, and slammed their corresponding glasses back into place on the table.
"You really wanna sing?" he snickered, looking longingly at the empty shot glasses now lining their table and then over at the stage, as the latest performer was wrapping up their atrocity of a song. "Ffffffiiiiinnnnnnne. But you challenged me so I'm gonna go first." Taking a cue from Dante, and also by the fact that it felt like someone had moved the sun into this place (it was bright and hot enough, after all), Keegan managed to remove his own jacket, after several technical difficulties (oh right, this one had buttons!) he slung it over the chair (actually he missed by three feet and threw it straight onto the floor) and half walked, half staggered after his friend to where the DJ was taking requests.
"Excuuuuuuuuuuse me, Princess," he said, grabbing the songbook right out of Dante's hands. "I'll take that thank YOU." Keegan was completely oblivious to the strange looks they were receiving from the DJ, who was probably currently wondering if these two were even old enough to be in here, let alone drunkenly singing bad karaoke. "No, no, no, ooh, no, hell no, no, maybe..." the redhead muttered as he flipped through the pages, and too fast for him to even fully register half the songs written down. One in particular caught his eye and he gave a wide grin, pointing it out to Dante. "Okay, how do you feel about duets?" he asked, giving the other a moment to mull it over. When Dante agreed, Keegan gave a little cheer and ruffled Dante's hair a bit roughly. "That's the spirit!"
Again, they both missed the incredulous look given to them by the DJ as he wordlessly prepared their song and pointed the hapless duo out to their marks. Keegan snatched up a microphone with more eagerness than he'd ever shown for anything in his entire life, peering out into the crowd as Dante joined him on stage. Moments later, Keegan and Dante were belting out what they believed to be the world's worst rendition of Queen's "We Are the Champions" that all of the Hoenn Region had the unfortunate luck to bear witness too, though unbeknownst to them, their captive-audience watched, mouths gaping wide open in pure shock before bursting into uproarious applause and cheering when the song was through.
Time seemed to stand still as Miharu and Emile rested on the grassy hilltop. Countless clouds drifted by overhead and a light breeze ruffled the girl's long hair while the blue and white Pokemon poked around in the grass nearby. Needless to say, the Oshawott was completely bored out of his mind, having already done several laps of their hillside resting place. A few times he was certain his new trainer had fallen asleep on him, and he'd stand there and watch her, as each time she'd startle herself awake and need several moments to calm down. Finally, she pulled herself into a sitting position and rested her chin on her knees as she stared out over the horizon, trying to decide what she should do now. She'd wasted the better part of the day already, and though she knew she had to do something, she still didn't know what.
It's getting late, I - we should head back to Nuvema, she thought, touching the top of her head as she realized her beret was missing. A small flare of panic shot through her chest as she began a frantic search, quickly finding the missing item in the 'hands' of her new Pokemon Partner, Emile the Oshawott. He was currently examining the lovely pink flower clip attached to the side, and as he raised his little paw to poke it, the green-haired girl tensed up. "Emile!" she nearly screeched. "Don't touch that! It's very fragile! If anything were to happen to it..." However, her shrill voice trailed off as she saw the hurt expression on the otter's face, and he quickly sat the hat down, looking quite shameful.
"Oh, Emile..." Miharu sighed, immediately feeling guilty for shouting at the Water-type. "I'm sorry, it's just that..." She scooted a bit closer to the Pokemon and picked up her beret. "This flower pin... it belonged to my mother," she explained, holding it out for the Oshawott to see. "It's the only thing I have left of her." Emile nodded slowly, keeping his arms down at his sides to avoid temptation to touch it. He completely understood what she meant, looking down at the scalchop on his belly and then back up at the girl again. He wasn't overly fond of people touching his scalchop, so he could understand his new trainer's protectiveness over her belongings.
Damien's sleep was deep, yet troubled as he never had been able to find a happy medium ((get it get it hah)) between a dark dreamless, cold sleep and vivid, energy-draining dreams. This time was no different as he found himself walking through a bright, autumnal forest, leaves of red, orange and yellow falling all around him. "Where am I? What the hell is this?" the dark-haired youth murmured, catching an orange leaf on his hand and studying it. After a moment or so, he realized it wasn't a leaf at all, but a monarch butterfly. It unfurled its wings and flittered away. Though most would have found it to be a very pretty sight, Damien scowled. He didn't have time for butterflies; he needed to get out of this strange place. The sun had set and darkness was closing in on him.
He began to walk forward, as he could see a faint glimmer of light ahead of him. Perhaps that was the way out of this godforsaken forest. Muttering to himself, Damien reached up to push his glasses back up the bridge of his nose, but he quickly realized they weren't there. Yet, his vision was perfect, as he could clearly make out the details of the bark of the trees from where he stood. "Okay, that's normal," he grumbled, realizing then that he was most likely in some sort of dream state. As he continued walking, he noticed several pale and alarmingly-transparent figures watching him from just beyond the treeline and he avoided making eye contact with them as best he could. He dealt enough with the dead while he was awake; he didn't exactly feel like interacting with them when he was supposed to be sleeping.
The problem with dreams was they never followed reason or logic, as no matter how much Damien walked, he couldn't seem to get any closer to the exit, not even when he broke into a flat out run. "You have got to be kidding me," he sighed, slowing to a stop. "I hate these kinds of dreams." He jammed his hands down deep into his pockets and pivoted around, figuring he'd try and out-logic the dream world. Of course, the spirits in this place had other ideas, and as soon as he looked up, he found himself staring into the pale, ghostly face of the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.
"Ooh, that's Mirror Move," Eva commented excitedly, nodding. "Clever tactic, we'll have to be careful! Swellow, use Wing Attack!" The blue bird gave a loud cry and twisted through the air, the wind whistling through its wings as it closed in on Plua.
"Fight back with Aerial Ace," Riza countered, her teeth grit. Eva's cheerfulness was really starting to get to her, and she quickly realized that this would not be a trainer she could easily get to, or put off guard. 'Guess we gotta do things the hard way, then,' she thought, watching as her Fearow took the hit from the Swellow's Wing Attack. All that seemed to do was make the Beak Pokemon even angrier and she struck right back with her own attack. Both Riza and Plua smiled a bit in satisfaction as the Swellow cried out, but its determined look was enough to show that it wasn't ready to quit just yet.
By this point, Eva would have had her Swellow use Double Team to try and confuse their opponent, but Plua's Aerial Ace would make that strategy useless. "Oh well they say offense is the best defense!" she called out, pointing at Riza's Fearow. "Swellow, Quick Attack!"
Riza raised an eyebrow. "Just who is 'they'?" she asked, but of course got no answer. Eva's Swellow was speeding toward Plua, and both the raven haired girl and her Pokemon knew that the Swellow was easily the faster of the two Pokemon, which was saying something because Fearow weren't exactly Slowpokes, either.
"Focus Energy," Katie repeated, watching the Machoke carefully. Even though her Roselia resisted fighting-type attacks, she was still relatively frail and a critical hit would do a lot of damage. "Keep your distance, Seraphim! Use Growth!" the orange haired girl commanded. She was fairly certain that Machoke didn't have any long range attacks and if it wanted to do damage it would have to get up close and personal with the Roselia. Seraphim took several quick steps backward, keeping her gaze fixed on her opponent. When she felt she was far enough away she relaxed her body, giving the illusion that she was shrinking then growing to twice her normal size. She felt stronger for it and continued to watch her opponent.
The martial artist seemed to realize the problem with paralysis and distance from their opponents. He knew if they were going to hit the grass-type they would have to hit hard. "Machoke, Leer," he commanded, and the muscular Pokemon forced itself to its feet, putting on a terribly scary expression that caused Seraphim to tremble in fear even from back where she was standing. It took a menacing step forward as well, and for a moment even Katie felt a bit uneasy. Paralysis didn't always stop its victims from moving, it was more of a luck thing than anything else.
"Stay back, Seraph! Growth again!" the orange haired girl called, her hands balled up into fists. She watched her Pokemon repeat the move, not sure she was going about this the right way. Would it be smarter to just attack, or was playing it safe and defensive the better option for now? Recalling that Mai had said she'd be along to watch the match, Katie looked around quickly for signs of her purple suited mentor, but the Rocket admin wasn't around, at least that she knew of. 'Can't play defensive forever,' she thought, watching as the Machoke was commanded to use another Karate Chop but was held back by paralysis. "Seraphim, time to attack! Magical Leaf!"
From his end of the arena, Brock still wasn't quite sure if Mike was talking to him, himself, his Pokemon, or perhaps maybe some of the rocks that "decorated" the gym. That aside, even with his Geodude's boosted speed he couldn't outrun the Omanyte's well aimed Water Gun and the rock-type fell to the ground, leaving a Geodude sized skid mark in its wake.
"No surprise there," Brock chuckled, returning his fainted Pokemon to its poke ball. "You did well out there Geodude, now take a good rest." The gym leader glanced over at his challenger and Pokemon. Having raised an Omanyte himself, he had a basic idea of how strong it was, and that Mike still had a ways to go before the little guy up and evolved into an Omastar. He held up his last poke ball, still smiling. "All right Onix, time to rock and roll!" He knew the saying was really quite lame and probably completely overused by now but he liked it anyway, and though he also knew that his trusty Onix probably wouldn't win this fight, he still felt proud to be battling alongside his old friend.
