Alassëa clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth, apparently frustrated by their lack of understanding, and an irritated expression crossed her face. Her lips moved again as she carefully thought through what she was trying to say, and finally she reached with one hand and touched her opposite shoulder.

"Arm," she said again, more certainly now that she had heard the correct pronunciation from Alena and Lin. "Arm ... hh ... l ..."

Her expression grew darker as she fought with her memory, trying to force herself to figure out how to say what she was trying to get across. "Beh ... r ..."

Lin blinked, was she hearing what she thought she was hearing or was it wishful thinking on her part? It was hard to tell at this point.

"You have the healing gift? You can heal?"

"Well that would explain why after decades of living out here on her own, she hasn't a single scar," Alena murmured in wonder.

Alassëa was visibly excited that she had made herself understood, though she was fidgeting so much now that her falcon was fluttering its wings and looking about in alarm. "Arm ... cccan hh-heal!" she said again, her expression bright now.

"It does," Lin murmured bemused at that.

Since, as long as it's healed early and not too deep there wouldn't be any scaring.

She smiled softly, "Thank you for offering," she paused and then asked though it was directed to both women, "Do you think I should bring Earendil here? It might be easier?"

Alena tilted her head slightly. "I would think it would be easier to bring her to Earendil," she replied. "She's more mobile than him at the moment, and it's not like you would need me for anything."

Alassëa reached down and groped around on the ground until she found her cloak, which she pulled over her shoulders, and then reached for her staff and stood up. She tapped it a bit on the ground, feeling for the sides of the tent, then pointed with it at the flap of the tent, as if asking Lin to lead her forward.

"See you later then," Lin nodded at Alena before heading to the tent flap.

Holding Andarien with one arm, she held the flap open with her free hand.

"This way," she spoke out to Alassea so the lady would know where she was.

Alassëa stepped towards Lin's voice, feeling with her staff to make sure the flap was open before she stepped out into the rain.

Andarien flinched when the rain began spattering his face once more. It was raining more heavily now than it had been before, and it didn't feel nice or novel to him anymore. He buried his face in Lin's shoulder, hunching into a ball to make himself as small as possible.

The moment they were out in the open (and wet) air, the falcon took flight, heading for the trees. Alassëa didn't react, but simply waited for Lin to lead the way to her and Earendil's tent.

"This way," Lin called out and began to walk at a steady pace towards their tent.

There were nice things about not being able to walk like an elf, she knew she was making noise as she did so. She covered Andarien the best she could with her other arm to keep the rain off of him.

It made her wish she had brought her umbrella along.

Actually it wasn't her umbrella, it was Miyuki's because Miyuki thought it was cute.

Alassëa followed Lin silently, only her staff making the odd sound as she set it on the ground as if it were a regular walking stick. There was no hesitation in her steps, but every confidence as she walked behind Lin, keeping the distance between them consistent.

The rain didn't bother her one bit, despite the fact that her hood was down. Of course, she didn't have eyesight for the raindrops to hamper, so that would make a difference as well.

With the additional rain it seemed to be taking far too long to get to the next tent, even though Lin knew that wasn't the case. Still, she was grateful for getting there in one piece.

"We're here," she called out again as she opened the flap and held it open for Alassea.

"You're back quickly," Earendil called out from inside the tent, not yet realizing that Lin wasn't going to be the first one inside, or that she wasn't alone. "Andarien not hungry after all?"

Alassëa stepped into the tent, keeping her staff close to her body so as not to hit anyone with it. She tilted her head one way, then the other, and then moved between Miyuki and Earendil to sit just on the other side of Earendil, right beside him.

Earendil stared at her. "Um ... hello ..."

She seemed a bit close to him ... he supposed that since she was blind, he could excuse it, but his instinct was to shuffle away from her a bit.

"It turns out," Lin explained quickly before her daughter or husband got too uncomfortable with their guest, "That Alassëa has the healing gift. She offered to come and help heal your arm."

She then went over and took a seat beside Miyuki.

"And Shiloh was in the middle of being fed, so I came back with Alassëa instead."

Earendil blinked at Lin. "You lost me," he said flatly. "She offered to come help? As in, spoke and offered? I thought she couldn't speak!"

Alassëa sat patiently, waiting to be shown where Earendil needed healing. There was no expression on her face whatsoever, only a calm patience in her eyes that reflected years of learning it.

"She said 'arm heal better' probably not necessary in that order, it's difficult for her but she did say something, and it was with the intention to heal your arm."

Which meant she understood far more than she could speak, but it was no fault of her own on that account. Lin leaned forward a bit.

"Do you mind if I take your hand and show you were?" she asked slowly.

It took a moment for Alassëa to realize that Lin was talking to her, and she blinked slowly, one hand moving to rub the back of her other one. "Hhh ... han ... d ... eeyy ... eeyou ..."

Earendil grimaced. "Does this mean I need to take the shirts off again?" he asked, not at all looking forward to the ordeal. It had been bad enough getting them on, he had thought that would be the end of it for now.
