Ares sighed softly, bandaging her face with tape and small pieces of gauze. "I guess that's good reason, then," he murmured, absentmindedly brushing some hair out of her face before saying, "You can open your eyes now."

Ever slowly opened her eyes, blinking a few times as the light entered her pupils. When her vision refocused, she saw Ares was close to her, probably from just putting the bandages on her face.
He really needed to stop doing that. Ever sighed and scooted backwards on her bed. "Thank you for that, Ares. I appreciate it."

He snorted, leaning back. "'Course you do. It's from me, right? Who wouldn't appreciate some first aid from the God of War himself?" He smirked at her.

Yeah. Great time for his arrogance. Of course, that's just who he was. But she didn't have to play along this time.

Ever glared fiercely and her eyes and hair were flashing read. She leaned toward Ares more in her anger.
"No, I don't! I just don't appreciate someone presuming to know what I would and wouldn't do! I thought you were nearby spying on us since I heard a twig snap, and so I did something that I thought would piss you off!"

Ares balked at her. "You thought I was spying? Evermore, what the hell makes you think I'd bother with spying on people? I was waiting in here! When you didn't come for a while, I tracked your aura and found Anter--Ross there too. That's what happened!"

Ever crossed her arms over her chest, still glaring. "Oh, you just happened to come back to the castle, where the room is, after your meeting with Zeus? You had left me outside. Of course I'd still be there. And you have always look for my aura when you come here, and you just didn't this time? Bullcrap!"

Ares got closer to her. "Yes, Evermore, I did! I am not lying to you--but... s**t, this is all ******** up."
Suddenly, in a moment of mood whiplash, he grew somber and left to stare outside the window. His leather outfit disappeared, replaced by his armor once more. "A war is brewing," he said, eyes flashing, "and it will be dire."

Ever gasped softly as Ares moved closer to her and got angry. That... was very hot, unfortunately. Thankfully, though, he moved away quickly and... had another typical Ares sudden mood change.
She sighed and laid back on the bed again. "I know, I know. My mothers told me about this. And you wonder why I don't want to be involved."

Ares frowned. "I'm afraid that you'll end up involved whether you want to be or not." He looked towards her. "Zeus has... asked me to ensure that you go to the lake. I can tell you what you're looking for, in a sense, but I cannot tell you what it looks like. It's a Relic, and if we don't get ahold of it before..."
His jaw tightened. "We may die."

For a few minutes, there was no response. Nothing at all. And then, suddenly, a lamp crashed into the wall right beside Ares. Ever was now sitting up, her eyes livid.

Ares didn't flinch. He just watched her, eyes and face obviously stony. He stood there for a moment, then strode over and grabbed her wrists, pushing her down onto her bed and holding himself over her. He stared down at her with smoldering eyes, not speaking.
