Sil let out something between a whiny cry and a snarl of pain when the man went through the effort of punching her in her broken foot. She couldn't have reacted properly had she wanted to thanks to the horrific pain of having her broken bone essentially rejarred.

Her first reaction once she regained her senses was to jump out of that window and beat the living hell out of the man that had just done that. Feeling a mixture of humiliated and enraged, she let out a frustrated scream. "That's it! I'm automatically punching every new face here! I don't care anymore!"

With that, she tried to stomp off with irritation, but thanks to Soma what little normalcy she had regained had quickly gone away again. "That little b*****d... One of the grounds guards will get him. To hell with it," she growled, her lips set in a tight snarl. "I'm fine. Pissed as hell and need a smoke, but fine."

Soma hit the ground hard and rolled over one shoulder, stopping after the second roll. He to one knee and slowly rose to his feet. While dusting off his shirt, he noticed the scrape on his forearm. After making himself a little more presentable, he looked up to the window see the observers. Without a change in his expression, he turned the other direction and walked off. That could have gone better. The escapee put on his jacket, tucked the files under one arm, and placed the other hand in his pocket.

Along his travel, he saw the girl with the large bag again. Soma surveyed from approximately 15 yards away. She had walked out of a cafe, preceded by another girl. His attention transferred to the other girl. It seemed she was heading in the direction he was. He decided to increase the speed of his gait for a short time to close the distance between them.

The COD was my idea. Way, way back on page 66. First time the words, "Couch of Doom," were ever uttered.

Lavi nodded a little, gritting his teeth, feeling more than frustrated himself. For once he didn't blame her for wanting a smoke. How many times were people going to mess with them in their own home? He bent down to pick up the book he'd dropped when he'd gotten spinkicked, swearing a little to himself. Who was that guy? First, the fileroom got half burned down, and now someone was stealing their files... He hoped she was right and someone would catch him on the way out, but right now he was just frowning at the way she had difficulty walking with her newly injured foot.

"Do you need to get that checked out...?" He asked gently and put a hand on her shoulder, trying to calm her down a little, even though he wasn't feeling very relaxed himself. They'd have to tell Komui about this incident, too. He bit his lip a bit at the thought of having to admit that an intruder had been right under their noses and they had let him escape.

Taking the long way back to the Order, Kiah was looking around town, still a bit angry that she couldn't pick up what she needed. She happened to see Liv again and was about to avoid her when she saw a man sneaking up behind her. Trying not to be noticed, Kiah steadily made her way toward him, pulling out her gun. When she got a good distance away, she pistolwhipped him across the neck, hoping it would knock him over.

"Liv, get out of here!" she yelled, pointing the gun at him.

Liv almost jumped through her skin at the suddenness of what was happening. She looked from the man to Kiah, completely confused about what was going on, "Kiah! What are you doing!?"

Keeping her gun trained on the strange man, she noticed some files under his arm and glared at him, "This guy was stalking you! He could be a serial killer for all we know!"
