It's a fairly common misinterpretation of atheism.

...It does have set beliefs though. Namely, the rejection of the belief in deities.

Idk, But Atheism is The Belief in no god. Athiests Reject all possibility that there is possibly a god.

Also, Your government facinates me! Your laws are so odd. I think I might just move to America and try to be a lawyer some day. Although that is quite a jump, seeing as the only reason I'm considering it is because of the way your Laws are set up now. confused but then again doesn't everyone who becomes what they want to doing it just because at one point in their life they thought it would be cool?

No it's not. You can be an Agnostic and not want anything to do with a religion. In fact, an Agnostic is someone who does just that... believes in a higher power, but does not subscribe to any one religion.

Actually, in my eyes, atheism is a religion. Christians go out and try to make more Christians, right? That's what shows that they truly believe in their religion. So, atheists also go out and try to recruit new atheists. Not only that, they constantly publish books and make speeches trying to prove that religion is false. If they really believed that, why do they need to prove it so badly?

Anyways, a religion is just a belief that a person dedicates their entire life to. For Atheists, Atheism is their religion.

Which is really silly if you ask me. They want to stop people from "Wasting their time" on religion, so they dedicate their entire life to disproving it. Isn't that kind of, counter productive?

I wouldn't say that, Most Athiest I know just completely ignore anything about religion. If the topic comes up they normally try to change it. Granted some Athiests do that, But if all did that, then the world would be a really loud place.

And it isn't necessarily a dedication of the entire life, if it was like that then governments would have laws saying that such and such jobs must have such and such religious traits.

In the first ammendment { The Freedoms }, particularly in the freedom of religion clause, you have two other clauses. The Establishment clause, and the free { I want to say practice but I know that isn't it... confused } clause. Anyways, The Establishment act restricts the Government from defining a Country wide religion. Also it states that the government can not directly change a religion's beliefs.

The Free { For the sake of this explanation I'll call it Practices } Clause makes it so that for the most part People can not be restricted as to what they say pertaining to their beliefs. A good example of this is the KKK { I hate them too, but this is actually a really good example } They can not be reprimanded for speaking out about things in a violent fashion. They can not touch someone for what they say. Only if they cause physical damage, or speak in a slanderous way against a private person { Not all that surprisingly people who are famous, like actors are somewhat exempt from this law, they have to take whoever is saying this to court to get their name cleared. } However, if within a certain period of time someone engages in a physical offence and they claim to have been inspired to do it by that speaker, that speaker is able to be brought up on the charges that the person who actually committed the crime is being brought up on.

these are just bits and peices of these, and I'm sure that some parts are changed, but according to the Book on your laws I'm reading that is what they say.

Also, I'm not too sure why I felt like posting that large chunk of info... confused I think it has something to do with something at the top of this post, but I'm too lazy to read it.
