Huh... I thought it was non-fiction...
So that's why... Well, I'm not sure if I can say this... well, here goes nothing...
One of my catholic friends made a joke about how Catholics were all hardasses, and that they will one day take over the world. This was followed by his Brother tackling him and smacking him around for the insult. I was just wondering...
Is it true? I went to church with them once... Only once.... It scared the s**t out of me, I was sitting there, and they had to stand, sit, kneel, sit, stand, sit , kneel, stand, kneel, stand, kneel, Etc Etc... And by the half of that service my legs were on fire, but the others were still going strong... And the moments when the congregation says things in unison... EXACTLY like a fluently working war machine... I'm shivering just remembering that moment...
This is not meant to be offencive, but now I do have a legitimate fear of Catholics. And my friend takes every shot he can get... If Me him and his brother are in the same room, he'll go to the bathroom, grab a sheet or something and wrap it around himself, and drape something over his shoulders and walk around singing Hymns >.< And then his brother will stand up straight faced and just start singing. They had to call the police once because they backed me into a corner in my dad's room and I grabbed a knife off the wall { I think it was actually a Ninja-to like thing... It was the dagger equivalent of a Katana } Because I was so scared. >.< Meh! Now I'm all paranoid >.<
@ Hinote I'm allowed in my school's girl's restroom because if I wasn't I would be expelled by now xD The girls pull me in there to give them tips on their make-up. I've actually gotten pretty good. My dads are so proud blaugh

The reason they can do all the speaking in unison, is because they say the same things OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. It's some sort of rule that they have to recite all of their special prayers all the time, to the point where they can recite it from heart blindfolded and upside down in a tank of water.
Which is actually a good thing for a religion, because they really know their stuff. I don't exactly agree with the fact that they feel the need to pray to the saints, but the fact they memorize all of that is good. Now if only they would move on to actually teaching from their bibles instead of reciting the same things every meeting.

LadyShirahime93 @Kumo- So glad you asked. The Crucible is a actually a book that was written about the Salem Witch Trials. Catholics played a huge role in the Crucible, having been the ones that put supposed "witches" on trial. This is actually the root of sexism, since women bore the blunt end of superstition and misogyny. They were persecuted, hanged, and put on trial for being possessed by the devil. All in all, The Crucible is a book about a particular trial of a woman by the Catholic Church. And there you have it; one of the many roots of sexism.
@Minty- Sorry, I agree with Hinote. You're either all the way Catholic, or you're not Catholic at all.
@Hinote- It's okay. I've gone into the guy's restroom before. The Crucible is a play and the script was published in a book. stare

Cobra_X Gregar828 There are a few topics that I restrict, which include, but are not limited to: Religion, Rape, some Politics, and Death (when talked about as a joke). I disagree with your restrictions in some cases.
Not discussing topics like Rape and Death as a joke... yeah, that makes sense, because both are very serious issues that should never be joked about by anyone.
However, restricting conversations about Religion and Politics is BS and rather dictatorial. we should feel free to have candid and open discussions on a wide variety of subjects so long as it is done in a peaceful and non-offensive manner. Can such discussions get heated and can some people lose their cool at times?... Yes, absolutely.
...but that doesn't give you the right to abolish all discussion regarding them. That's dictatorial and more or less wrong. Freedom of Speech is vital... and we should feel free to discuss religion and politics as we like, so long as we are doing so in a respectful manner.Yea, thats my bad cobra. When I say restrict, I meant when it gets out of hand and people start bashing each other. I've actually had to do that when a political debate ensued, people began slandering each others countries. Thats definitely where I draw the line. I see what your saying, and agree with free speech, but there comes a point where I WILL stop a debate if I find it necessary. @Kumo: Catholics arent all hardasses. I'm catholic...............................hmm, talking to you guys, maybe that wasnt the best example.........

Hinote Tosatsu Do you mean the Crucifix? I don't think I've ever heard of a crucible. Though my spellcheck assures me that it's a real word, so I dunno. Mint, I really do hate to say something that will most likely cause an argument despite it's rather innocent nature, but it's impossible to be "A bit" of anything. You either are or you aren't. Just because your parents had your head dunked when you were a baby does not make you a catholic, no matter what they'd like you to believe. To be a part of ANY religion requires that you actively seek to be a part of it. If you can say "I'm a bit catholic, but not really.", then you aren't a catholic at all. That's like me saying "I'm kind of male.", while I walk into the women's restroom wearing a skirt to change my tampons. /End Rant A crucible is a piece of porcelain, or some sort of large smelting pot which is used to heat to high temperatures in order to melt metals for making jewelry or other items.
...it's also a classic work of literature.

@Hinote- I said one of the many roots of sexism. Not the root of sexism. You should try reading the posts all the way through, before you go ranting. xd
@Auggy- Yeah, I knew that, but I've only ever read the book. =/
@Kumo- I was actually talking to my Mom about that the other day, because we were watching X-Files (Yes, I know, I'm terrified of aliens; but X-Files is my favorite TV show. Try and figure that one out. xD ) Anyway, I had asked my Mom why, most Catholics were shown to be related to the cult or what not in most TV programs and movies. She actually didn't have an answer valid enough for my tastes. What she did say, was that Catholicism is a widely accepted religion, and people would accept that before they accept say, Judaism, Islam, or Muslim. I though it was pretty weird... But there's nothing wrong with them. I would probably guess that they were making fun of you when they did that. I myself, am not Catholic; but I know a lot of Catholic people and they're pretty kick a**. And think of it this way, all the movement with you're legs, will give you a good work out. *always an optimistic*

ShadowMancer_B Augoeides Yaaaaaay biggrin Ginger: Well... duh! Its one of the most accepted Religions. No One really hates you cause all you want is proof or a sign. Though no one really likes you either. XD Agnoticism isn't really a religion, it's more of a classification. Since an Agnostic believes in a higher power, but doesn't really subscribe to anything else... you can't really call it a religion without a defined set of beliefs which are at least semi-universal.
