As she watched the two hunters fight with X1 and Tokeru fiddling around with stuff
to create a rpg.... her mind drifted back to that nite in the Havenite main den and she re-played the events over her head. There were individual firefights all over..
no semblance of any organized attack and she had been separated from the group
with her own firefight.
There had been ten of the Lunites and she had taken several hits(body armor had saved her) but steadily took them down in ones and twos. The last four made thier stand and died before an iron door.... she didn't know what was behind the door but it was precious enough for them to make thier stand.
She remembered in detailed slow motion checking the door for traps and then opened the door.... The first thing that hit her was the fact that there was about 30
children in a 20' room. Thier ages varied but they were dust covered... and before she could say anything 3 teenagers attacked with pistols..yelling to the others to hold her down and they attacked. Her reaction was automatic she dumped a grenade and slammed the door shut....the grenade(silver) went off.
Bridget remember cracking the door and tossing in a second grenade(silver) in and the concussion as the grenade went off; after that she opened the door and swept for any survivors.... there were none really to be found except the dead and the few dying children.. she put them down to ease thier pain. Except for the little girl with the rag doll.... Bridget knelt beside her and cradled her until she died.
Bridget remembered leaving the room and making her way back to the main chamber and saw the slaughter.... "Hunters" cruelly killing the adults and actually
enjoying it. She remembered the speech that Zin had given about the Lunites and
especially how dangerous the children were and should be killed on sight lest they kill you. She had been attacked and there was no doubt in her mind that they would have over-whelmed by thier numbers....she acted to protect herself and the
thing was she would do it again. She killed because she had to; the "Hunters" in the main chamber were killing for sport and blood. WHO HAD THE CLEANER MIND
AND CONSCIOUS.
Bridget's mind got pulled back to the present by the fight between X1 and Tyler and D. Sanchez looked at her with a slightly "you all right " look. Bridget nodded
yes and they went back to what brought them here.
