I've never seen her peppy. I've only seen her sobbing uncontrollably like her heart is being rended in two by the most cruel of evil people in the galaxy.
Besides, Supergirl is peppy and I trust her.

I'm confused. Do you all just intuitively think she's bad because she's...nice? And gives you things? And is interested in promoting her brand? Or has she actually DONE something that gives you reason to dislike her?

There's just something off about her.
It's not the nice, it's the way she's nice...
it's a condescending nice. Like she's dealing with people who're beneath her.
at least when I'm condescending, it's not hidden behind pleasantry.

There are different levels of NICE?!
We don't have this in my culture, though we do have six hundred seventy-eight different words for rocks based on texture and flavor. Can you explain further? No one ever mentioned this in the Legion!

There's real nice. Like you.
There's polite nice. The reason I don't rip people's faces off. It's just not proper.
There's "I hate you so i'm going to be so sweet to get on your nerves" nice.
There's guilty nice. "I screwed up, so I'm going to feel bad and be good for a while"
There's GG type nice , the "oh look how stupid you are! i'm going to be super-nice because you won't be able to understand anything else, poor thing"
There's Publicity nice, the "oh, let me help the homeless so i can get my picture in the paper!"
and others..

Well, Super-Girl and Squirrel Girl, they're two really sweet kids, and when they're 'peppy' it comes across as nice and honest, and you can't help but like 'em for it. It's endearing.
..I dunno, call it a gut feeling but something about this G girl rings false when she tries for nice. Like a salesman's patter. *shrugs*
I'm a firm believer in gut feelings. They're usually right, and since that usually keeps me from being eaten or otherwise harmed, I'm inclined to trust them.
