"Should probably just let her. Those we do catch don't give up any information and just get themselves maimed. Of course if I let her do that then Serino is going to get upset then they're going to fight amongst themselvse and admit it....those two horses can be worse than you and me." Shaking her head lightly as she brushed her bangs out of her face. "We'll just keep an eye on Malikhai and make sure that he adujusts well to the sudden social influx. I'm afraid he'd be more inclined to react out negatively to someone who picked at him and then get himself in trouble. He gets that from you."

"Mom has a lot of those phrases." Shrugging lightly and playing with a few rocks that were on the ground as he listened to his friend. Sometimes it was such a pain to try and not be socially awkward...but this wasn't the type of thing you could talk to your parents about...they would just reassure you and the like. "Yeah, just no one likes to be the new kid." Shrugging again as he continued to play with rocks. "You have a better time with your other friends than you do with me?" Okay so maybe he was a little jealous. Zykariel was his only friend, where as Zykariel himself had others than just Malikhai. Besides...he was often the reason and order to his friend's fun chaos. That had to be a drag sometimes.

"I don't think that he was ready, more so of fed up with us walking away from him so easily." Grasping the child's hands as he made it over and he gave the child a smile and ruffled his hair. "Indeed, go. Look at you....see it's not that scary now is it?" A look to his wife then. "I think this should solve your crying fiasco...why didn't you just call me sooner rather than letting the both of you dissolve into chaos?" Standing up but still holding his son's hand, taking a few steps to see if the child would willingly follow.

"I would, but I also don't want to risk her being taken. even if she'd be beyond their riding ability, nightmares are not immortal. they can be killed."

a slight smirk.

"Hey, a little negative reaction goes a long way. slapping around the leader of the 'cool' group goes a long way toward not being toyed with."

"Is that what I said? No, I don't. I hang out with you a lot more than any of my other so-called friends combined. I trust you and our personalities complement each other. Besides you manage to keep me out of trouble whereas the other guys would only get me into far more trouble than I could ever even wish to handle. My dad would hit the roof if I did half of the things they did..." A shake of his head. "Your family structure is a lot like mine so I don't have to answer a lot of annoying questions or have disapproving looks from you. I don't like it when other elves make cracks about my family and I tend not to associate with those people."

Kelligrin's little arm just couldn't stretch that far and with Daddy standing up, he had little choice but to walk forward. Taking two more steps, he glanced back at his mother for a moment and then turned and took a few steps in her direction as well. "Kelli goes!"

Zahara watched her son's change in course and took a few steps towards him as well so it wasn't quite that large of a distance. Crouching, she held out her arms and caught him as he walked towards her, gaining more confidence and balance with each step. Hugging him tightly, she pressed a kiss to his cheek and nuzzled him. "Yay Kelligrin!" Glancing up at her husband, she shook her head and set the child back down so he could continue to practice. "I really thought I could get him to calm down. Plus I guess in part it was my ego. Why shouldn't I be able to satisfy my own child's wants or needs. And there are times when you just aren't available and he has to learn to deal. I don't like it anymore than you do but that's the reality." Watching her son make it back to his father she shook her head. "Next it will be potty training..."
PostPosted: Sat Nov 17, 2007 5:25 pm

"Then you better butter her up because she only takes but so much obvious bribing from me." Shaking her head lightly then giving him that look that she often gave him when she thought he was being a bit too over the top about something. "There is a thing called diplomacy you know. Besides...if he starts hitting on the other kids, the teachers will start to label him as the trouble maker and just give him a hard time as well. Let's try to make this as easy as possible for him....though of course if someone hits him first now that's a different story. They asked for a beating."

"I didn't say that's what you said, I'm just asking." Both boys voices getting that raised tone with each other before lowering back down to normal levels. "Someone has to keep you out of more trouble than you need to be in. Sometimes it's fun even." Grinning lightly then back to playing with rocks idly. "What kind of issue do they have with your family?" And ultimately, his.

"And now that he goes we're never going to be able to stop him. Time to break out the babygates again I think." Giving a pleasant chuckle and crossing his arms lightly as he watched the child toddle around without fear. Falling was temporary after all. "Well yes Sweetheart, but you're not supposed to let him get your nerves all frazzled. You feel like a pool of electric eels...the underdark ones." Crouching down for his son again as he took back to his direction. "Potty training is good...one less worry. Is it my turn or your turn on that?"

"Oh, well, no, I don't have more fun with them than you." Calming down the moment he recognized the irritation brewing when someone didn't understand his point. Fiddling idly with his scythe, he shrugged, "My parents are more affectionate than most of theirs and some of the old traditions are still prevalent even now. I refuse to bow and scrape to my sisters and our family is stronger than most of theirs. Some say my dad is cursed or some such nonsense because he has magic they don't. It just varies."

Okay, hug from Daddy now. Mommy had given her stamp of approval and Daddy sort of had but he wanted a bit more than that. Halfway there he plopped on his butt and opened his mouth looking as though he were about to cry before blinking. How was he supposed to get back up? There was nothing around him to hold onto and pull...and he was stuck. Thus it was reverting to his previous method of crawling over to his playpen and using it to stand then toddling, rather quickly, over to his father once more.

"Yes, I rather think you're right. Runes too, since he can reach things far easier now." Watching him for a moment, she made a face. "That's not a very nice image at all..." And she supposed it wouldnt' have been such a bad idea to call on Sevilin since that was the last possible thing her son could have wanted. "Next time if I suspect it's you he wants, I'll call you much sooner. And it's yours. I did both girls." Grinning evilly to him on that. "Please do teach him to aim correctly the first time. Even though you'll be the one cleaning up if he doesn't, it still is not very nice to see spots and whatnot before you attack it."

"establishing who's the boss also works wonders. and I'd be happy to straighten out teacher problems. and I'll handle Ramoth. and diplomacy has always been your department, not mine."

a slight smirk there.

"You're my public relations person, you know that. next question is how is he going to be getting there? ride his own horse? want him to take Ramoth? might calm her down some..of course there might be issue with people messing with her."

"That's just stupid jealousy. You seem to have established that things go your way anyway. Besides, our families both have stigma's attached to them. Your family is all magical power houses. Mine is the power of the underdark here more or less...lots of opportunity there to make lives miserable. You think I'll have any of your classes?"

He watched as he fell...and waited to see what he was going to do. Well it seemed rather than cry he figured out what really needed to be done. Giving a smile he hugged the child and picked him up as he stood one more. "Good job Kelligrin...see, it's much more fun. Now you have hands free...and off the floor." Shaking his head lightly with a smile to his wife. "No it's not. I like you much better like this." But a roll of his eyes. "Noted. They don't use our bathroom anyway, I don't see why you fuss. Lots of things to clean around this house."

"And he's still little...there's going to be someone who's bigger than him. Beating down the first one of the House D'vinn would be grand bragging rights. Just better to not start the fight, only finish it. And yes...after all this time you still have barely any PR skills...where would you be without me?" Smiling sweetly at him before getting the end of a carrot waved in her face in indication that Dhairiss was done. Taking it from him she ruffled his hair. "Dhairiss will have to adjust. He usually has Malikhai around all the time to play with. As far as horses...let him take Kerick. No sense in getting Ramoth any more worked out. I'll just take her and Serino out or something, let her run off her aggression."
PostPosted: Sat Nov 17, 2007 8:07 pm

"Jealousy or not, it's still there. And they give me a hard time about and they probably will you, too. I let it all wash off my back but when they start messing with my sisters, I handle it. There's no excuse for that and I've been kicked out more than once for fighting. Not that my parents ever knew that...." Trailing off for a bit as he rubbed his knuckles in remembrance. "Magical punches work wonders for that sort of thing." He leaned back on his palms again and shrugged, "If we work it right, you'll have them all. I highly doubt you won't qualify for the upper levels and that's where I'm at. There are only two divisions within the upper level because of class size. Chances are they'll put you in my group. If not, we'll see each other randomly anyway."

Kelligrin was quite content to sit like he usually did, balanced on one parent's side or hip depending on their preference at the time. Clutching a handful of his tunic, he waved to his mother. "Kisses. Kelli and Daddy go."

"Because my boys will grown into men one day and the things they learn when they are little will follow them. If they're taught to handle such things as tots, it'll be second nature when they're older. I'd like them to be clean, much like their father is." Giving him a smile and then quirking an eyebrow. "Where are you two going?"

"bigger doesn't always mean better. it's not always the strongest, but the smartest and the fastest, that wins. I imagine he's going to have some issues at first, but that's what we're here for, to help him get through things like that. Though your right, we'll have to do something about Dhairiss. maybe we can arrange for him to spend more time around Kelligrin or the girls. I don't want to have him take up all of Keely's time, she's a young woman and probably wants some life of her own outside babysitting."
PostPosted: Sat Nov 17, 2007 10:14 pm

"I would look out for Dhairiss if he went. Can't let people mess with your family." But then a frown. "You've been fighting? How do you keep them from telling your parents? Or your sisters telling on you for that matter?" Shaking his head lightly. "Last time my dad said something to me he said that he was going to try and slate me for the higher levels since I've had advanced training here." Quiet again with a light sigh. "I probably shouldn't worry and just let it all come as it wants to. New experience and all."

"No one can be as clean as me. It would kill them if they tried." But a blink and a look to the child that he was holding with a blink as apparntly it was time to go somewhere. "That's a good question, where are we going Kel?"

"Long as the whole thing doesn't make him bitter to the world like a certain someone else was before I got hold of him." Settling her look on Malik because they both knew she was talking about them...then a smile. "James." That was all she had to say about Keely. Hey, she had girl talk with Keely too and the girl was in her twenties now. Malik was right in that respect...and truth be told Keely was more part of the family than any of the other serfs. But a sigh and she lightly bounced Dhairiss on her lap, much to his giggles. "You have to peel Zahara and Sevilin off of Kelligrin for that. I can only give him but so much attention though...we've much more hectic lives since Malikhai was this little."

"That's right. But they don't understand that, really." Shaking his head a moment and throwing one of those rocks so it bounced along the hard, unforgiving ground. "I don't get caught. They can't prove it was me and the one I punched deserves it every time. If I do get caught, I just forge my dad's signature on the note I'm supposed to show him. You would think the school would have figured it out by now but they aren't quite that smart. I don't think dad would have a problem with it since everytime I've been defending our name or our family, but still. no need to give him anymore reason to be disappointed in me." He was quiet for a moment, "That's probably true. You'll fit in just fine, have to chill out and not worry."

Kelligrin stared at his father for a long moment and then shrugged. "Kelli don't know. Daddy go. Give kisses. Bye bye."

Zahara quirked a brow and then shook her head again. "I don't think you two are actually going anywhere. He just thinks you are. Perhaps fishing like you went earlier?"

"I was not bitter to the world."

a small roll of his eyes and then looking at hsi youngest son, and glancing up at his wife.

"So, you want to tell him or should I? oh and expcet to see some floating eyeballs around. thier mage devices used for spying and vision when you normally can't see. maybe we'll get lucky and this mystery pest will get caught."

Getting himself up and walking to his wife, rubbing her shoulders lightly.

"Hectic indeed. but you need to relax more than I do. all teh running aroudn with the kids and the added stress is making you as tightly wound as a watch spring."

"I suppose if it's defending your family honor then it makes sense. I mean that's why I took a beating at tournament. To protect my family. Though I think my dad still is upset with me to some measure for it." Shaking his head lightly. "And your dad isn't dissappointed in you...you two just don't share a common interest. Honestly I haven't seen you two have a fight since tournament...that's a good thing right? Dad's are just hard to read."

Okay, so the child had nothing in mind. "If I go out there fishing again Lyssie is going to throw a fit and I can't carry both of them around plus things if I have to. Anywhere you need to go that will suffice his little bout of wanderlust? He's going to want to walk...don't want to put him down someplace that he can't.

"Yes you were. Hating almost if not everything in the world and wanting to rule it all, is bitterniss. You just like to glorify yourself." And yes now she was picking at him and he knew it too. Then a frown, "Floating eyeballs...does it have to be floating eyeballs? You can't illusion those into something more...toddler friendly?" Pointed gesture to Dhairiss...he'd never been in Malik's study or the basement yet even. But a light smile, "Is that your medical opinion for me this week? I'll see what I can do about that, but someone has to watch Dhairiss and he's starting to go through this fussy clingy period..." Running her hand through the child's hair who was happily oblivious to the conversation about himself.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 18, 2007 1:38 pm

Shrugging, he skipped another rock, "I guess. There hasn't been a race either so that could be why. Or it could have something to do with what happened at tournament, I'm not really sure." Maybe the fact that he'd told his father a few things that the older man probably hadn't known for sure? Or maybe something else. "Dads are hard to read. They're weird about things sometimes too."

"Lyssie wont' be leaving her room for a little while so you won't have to worry about her, but I don't want him near the water yet. He's just too little and too fast. You turn your back for a minute and he's being eaten by some god awful Underdark thing." Shaking her head and walking over to the counter, pulling out a book and then ripping a page of parchment out of it. "I need some things from the vendors. It'll be slow going anyway since you have to ask so many questions and figure out which spice is which. Remember, hold his hand at all times regardless and if it gets too crowded or he's slowing you down or getting tired, pick him up regardless of his protests." Handing the list over and ruffling her son's hair. "Bye Kelligrin. Give me kisses."

"well those would be outside. I'm planning on sentinal spells inside. they makes flares of sparkles when you activate them.,,so our floor is going to be looking like we're walking through a firefly field for a bit. should entertain him until we get that spell fixed to not have that activation effect."

Glancing at Galesen a moment.

"How about Galesen, if Keely has her own buisness. can't hurt and put him to some use around here."
