I hate the show, hate the games even more, but I do like how some of the creatures look. Like my cousin, who just likes Yu-Gi-Oh for it's pictures, I just like looking at the Pokemon, among my favorites being Absol, Vaporean, Lugia, Ninetails, Sneasal, Hauntar and a few others.

I was definitely not trying to change your opinion, but instead correcting your sense of what was released first.

NOW HOLD YOUR TONGUE MISTER!! I started out playing the very first Pokemon when it came out for the GB back in 1996... The game is and was amazing back then and so was Gold and Silver. I was 8 years old when I started playing it... Perhaps I think that games like God of War are a shabby POS knock off of Devil May Cry (and whatever came before that), but you don't here me bashing it. If you're a true gamer, you'll actually respect other people's interest and devotion to that game... just saying, and not trying to start an argument, but Pokemon holds a place dear in my heart.

Pokemon Yellow was great. Up to Pokemon Stadium 2 was complete awesome. Then the anime, manga, and games just became utter crap and there is nothing that can change that.

arrow Ichimura: 1st Point: GOW being a knock off of DMC? I think not little man. The systems involved are familiar, but that is an off-shoot of how most games are not completely original. Devil May Cry was one of the best fighting/RPGs (of its time anyway) and thus gave birth to many anew games that developed similar systems.
If you really go down into mechanics, then every single game that puts the characters in a massive world of 3D imagery, scenery and schematics, watching the character from the third-person view, is automatically a knock off of the system used for Legend of Zelda's Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, because those two games hit off the entire idea.
Just as every other first-person shooter would be a knock off DOOM, because that was the first, real, first person shooter. You see my point? In this world, all creativeness has been drained away. There is no room to make more mechanics and the ones that are often "newly" made are just revamps with a few different additions or styles. To say that games are knock offs of each other is an erroneous statement because originality, when it comes to the system, is no longer viable.
Knock offs are only truly knock offs when all aspects of two games mirror each other and you wouldn't be saying GOW is a knock off of DMC if you actually played them through. They are nothing alike in the respects of story, themes and concept.

2nd Point: The games do not change at all. The plot hardly changes in any respect. The system is archaic and dead. The Pokemon look freakin stupid now and, in all regards, the original cast, Ash, Misty and Brock, should be well into their twenties or early thirties by now. By those variables, it is concluded, and agreed by many, that Pokemon, invariability sucks.
3rd Point: This is a free country. I can express any opinion I wish to and a real gamer would recognize just how trashy the Pokemon Game is. We all have opinions. Do not believe that you can restrict mine.

First off, Rath has a point; he does have a right to talk s**t about anything he wants to talk s**t about. Alternatively, however, it is also rude, so you are allowed to politely ask him not to bash something you are a fan of.

While there are several similar goals throughout all main games (catch them all, collect badges, beat the elite four, defeat rival) there are also many many many things that set each of them apart, such as the the fact that in DPPt, the Hero(ine) has both a Rival and Prof. Rowan's Assistant that he/she interacts with many times. Furthermore, starting in GSC, a Gym Leader and an Elite Four member become active members of the plot, Lance being the EF member, who consistently appears throughout the story. This is carried out more into RSE, when Steven Stone, the former Champion, appears periodically in the same manner as Lance did. Even now in DPPt, Gym Leader Cynthia herself appears frequently after a certain point in the game to assist. Not to mention the in-depth side-tasks the player must complete to advance, the likes of which were not seen in Red and Blue, and sparsely in Yellow. I could go on if I felt the need to, but I don't. My point is that this is an assumption, and a statement that should not be made unless you have played and beaten each and every main game, which I assume you haven't given your intense disdain for them. It's fairly obvious that the anime does not reflect real life time. If you're mad at that, then I'm not even sure why you would read something like Bleach. If your logic held weight over all series, Ichigo should have had a birthday in the middle of the Arrancar Arc and Orihime would have popped up and gathered everyone while he opened his presents and ate Hueco Mundo brand cake with all of his Arrancar buddies. The same would hold true for One Piece, Naruto, Family Guy, Negima, or really any manga/anime/TV show in existence that does not follow IRL time in terms of weeks or years. Most series follow their own progression of time, and this is the right of the creators.
