ProtoXtreme Citrus Samurai Well yeah he could have died, wait how did some one loose a arm. Exploding tag backfire Yeh but look on the bright side - at least Shin left cha intact! xp Anyhow, about Haku. It was only assumed that one-handed seals are part of Hyouton creation. But since the words never came outta Kishi's mouth, there are specified Jutsus floating around the guild that are one-handed seal or sealess. rolleyes
there are? surprised Where? XD
One handed seals, I thought that was only Haku's bloodline.. XD

Dude. If the second hokage can perform a forty-odd seal jutsu with one seal, then it proves that seals are not necessary. EVERY (canon) jutsu has a handseal, but the seals are like training wheels. Once you truly understand the jutsu and know it well enough, they're not required anymore.
PS (Rasengan and chidori are NOT jutsu.)

@ Kouri - A poor example since they're another Hyouton creation branch but Fubuki clan's techniques are mostly sealess. =d
@ Emily - That's not quite true. That Suiton technique Nidaime Hokage used was not seen in the canon prior to that episode/chapter. Basically, it's a technique of a different rank to something used by Zabuza. If what Emily said was totally true, handseals would not have to be required for Katon techniques at all. Kakashi wouldn't have to go through the trouble for preparing Chidori, and he started when he was like...10...had a good decade, anyways. But particularly in Katon and in Suiton techniques, handseals direct the "form" of the technique.
P.S. Ransengan and Chidori are Jutsu - Ninjutsu.
