He nodded, if wouldn't be a problem for him to stay anywhere since he really had no place to be. Seemed he may be going to school regularly again. But then she was off like a shot and he was left with what he gathered was another surface elf. "No we haven't. I'm Mykorian Pathtell...and apparently I'm in trouble." Giving a sigh. "Do you stay on the surface here?" After all, other planes were beyond his comprehension.

"Hm, I always seem to hope that you don't remember that time. But you were old enough to certinally know what was going on." He hated a lot of the things his oldest remembered, but he had always tried his best even back then to make up for what wasn't right in the boys world. Which made it baffling for why there was a rift between them now. "Listen and believe me when I tell you. No surface elf would come after me, neither would any other elf. No one from Andal and no one from here. My name and such no longer exists outside this plane and it's better for all that way. You've no need to worry about such things." Lightly touching at the slight indentation that ran under his eye and back to his ear over his cheek.

"They are silly things. But when you have a limited life span you have to think a certain way to get through life easier and in more positive means." Shrugging lightly though that got a slight cringe before he braced his hands on the bed, trying to push himself into more of a sitting position than a slumped one. Ow ribs. "I know how that can be. Sometimes you just have to get away and what not. So what do you usually do then? To get away?"

It was like he had come back from walking the dog for him wasn't it? That's what made her angry sometimes...how it was all so casual once it was over and he didn't need the visage anymore. Wiping some blood from his face and giving him another cursory check over she shook her head. "If they're not then I'm just going to have to take matters into my own hands because it would just be ridiculous by then." Which yes she did intend to have a word with Justwhysper soon enough.

Kieran raised an eyebrow, helping as he could as per Zahara's words and shook his head lightly. "No time to make notes, mental or otherwise. I was too busy keeping your wife from jumping into the fray."

"Nice to meet you, Mykorian. I'm Lharika Silvercrest." Lark gave him a sympathetic smile, "I remember those days. Daddy Kieran used tell me he didn't know what he was going to do with me when I'd get myself into scrapes and whatnot. For a while, I wasn't a very well-behaved child." Shaking her head in remembrance then turning her attention to the question. "No, I live on Andal's surface."

"I reveried about it last night..." A shake of his head and he studied his father for a moment then nodded. "I rather thought so. But I didn't realize how easy it was for your past to come back and haunt you, and if something does happen to you, then it's my responsibility to take care of Mom and the girls and Kel. And then I would restore the family honor or avenge you." Going quiet once again as he thought on things he probably shouldn't be at fifteen. His gaze fell on the crib where his little brother was shifting in his own reverie. "Just don't...let anything happen, okay?"

Kaelin nodded and frowned at his cringe, moving to push him back down and then staying put. He probably didn't want her help anyway. Agreeing completely, she folded her hands. "Lock myself in the closet." But that was at home and here she didn't have one. At least not one that was her safety zone.

Zahara shook her head. "Didn't do much good from where I'm standing but I applaud your common sense, Malik. However, you're still on bedrest. Two days." Taking care of the rest of his wounds in short order then stepping back and washing the blood off in one of the basins that had been gathered. She too frowned, shaking her head. "I'm not healing you if you do this to yourself again. Throwing it out so we're clear. No more fights between you and that self-righteous surface elf who doesn't know his head from his a** when it comes to honor."

"But I don't want to be on bedrest."

before looking over at his wife.

"Now now. no going off and doing crazy things while I can't chase you do adn stop you and or protect you."
PostPosted: Thu Nov 08, 2007 7:50 pm

Okay, so he didn't know what an Andal was at all. He assumed it was a palce because the way she said it, it made it seemed like it was indeed a place. "Is it nice there?" Now just asking questions because he was genuinely curious and well Lharika didn't seem upset with him right now.

He reached over and took his son's chin in his hand, turning his head so that they're eyes met. "You shouldn't think of such circumstances. I'm not going to leave a family responsibilities on your shoulders. And if something were to happen...I would expect you to put the idea of revenge down. It will bring you nothing except more heartbreak from those you're trying to make feel better." Affectionatly he brushed his hand through his son's hair before clapping him on the back gently. "Nothing from the past is going to come back. I promise you that and you have to trust me. I've always protected you before, nothing makes that different now or ever."

Okay...well this seemed like a conversation that was going nowhere fast. She was being short worded with him and seemed almost angry. Had he said something? Was she just here out of obligation? Great now he didn't know what to do. "Well...I suppose that's effective." His attention turned to his brother though who was dropping off the bed.

Hitting the flow with a little thump he still looked a tad upset and merely toddled over to Kaelin. Standing before her, he looked from his cup to her and then his empy cup again...and then once more to Kaelin before he lifted his cup up to her with an expectant look.

"You should of thought of that before getting yourself banged around. Your son doesn't complain. Take a page from his book and just relax for a few days." Shaking her head lightly and wiping her hands on one of the rags they all had been using. "And don't be patronizing to me right now. Get up." Thusly taking hold of his hands and pulling him up to his feet. Turning a look to Zahara she sighed. "Thank you Zahara, and I'll tie him to a bed if I have to."

"I can always have Sevilin rune him to the bed. He doesn't have the energy to undo them, despite the fact he may have the knowledge." Giving a speaking look to Malik and then running almost clean fingers through her hair. It was splattered with blood anyway. Walking behind Piper and Malik just in case they might need help and because, dammit, she was going to make sure he didn't give Piper any crap for her edict.

Lharika nodded, "It's quite beautiful. In the summer there's all sorts of flowers and in the winter it snows all the time but not enough to accumulate on the ground. I hear it's a lot like the surface here. Have you ever been there?" Uncertain since many of the drow she knew were in fact staunch avoiders of the surface. Mykorian seemed a little different, however. "But I suppose I like it as much as anyone else likes their home. Does that make sense?"

Suspiciously watery violet eyes stared back at him for a moment and Zykariel was blinkinig furiously as if in an effort to stave off said tears. "It better not and you better, Dad. I can't handle all this and I'm too young to. I would start drinking if I had to deal with Mom like that for one day..." A shake of his head and he swallowed, "I just never thought anything about the possibility...but it could happen. And I kinda wanted you to know that I do trust you...and I do love you. Even if sometimes I'm a cocky b*****d and I don't always agree with everything you say."

She shook her head at Malikhai, "Not really effective but safe. When things start happening, I don't have anywhere else to go so I lock myself away and everything kind of goes away. See?" It was completely natural to her. She glanced down at the child and took his cup then glanced at the tray. "We don't have anymore...but I can get you some if you like?"

He stumbled a bit when she pulled him up, getting dizzy and a bit disoriented, having to hold a hand out to balance himself a moment.

"I have to oversee the empire. there's work to do and such. I can't do that bedridden..."

before giving a look around at the two women who were both giving him the look.

"alright, alright. two days bedrest. no need to going to drastic measures. but I swear piper you go do anything like what it probably rattling around in your head you take your father with you."

hated bedrest. he'd taken blows to teh head before, and didn't have to have bedrest then. blasted clerical types and thier rest restrictions.

"Dhairiss, don't bother Kaelin like that. You drank it all, and if you wanted more then you should of just drank it slowly. You know you're not supposed to have a lot of it." Shaking his head and looking to Kealin once more...little brother making things difficult for him. "I can see how that makes sense though." No point in arguing it seeing as she seemed rather stuck on one idea.

Cure huffy pissy look for him, holding his cup to his chest and pouting with lip stuck out and everything.

"I live up there. Well sometimes I do. It's always hot here it seems. Not a lot of trees but they're coming back. Dad had always said it was because we used to not have a surface and now we do, so we have to regrow it." Giving a light shrug of sorts to his own information. "It makes sense. I'm sure you don't find hte underdark cozy when I kinda do."

Seemed the world was finally crashing down around his son's ears and that teenage invincibility had gained a crack, showing how it wasn't diamond tough. Giving a light smile and sigh, he pulled his son over into a hug. There was something just so calming knowing how his son actually did feel something for his father. Sometimes were never too old for a hug, "I don't want you to worry on such things. It's not your place to. And if something did happen, I would give you permission to spit on my grave and curse me to several hells." Letting the boy go and resting his hands on the child's shoulders. "You're not supposed to agree with everything I say, but you're not supposed to hate me for it either. And watch your language."

Yeah it was starting to grate on her nerves. "If you can do things so stupid as push yourself when you know you shouldn't then I should be able to do stupid things as well." Barbing back at him just because she was getting frustrated with him. "And I can oversee your empire just fine thank you, I am useful in those things." Shaking her head again. "For Gods Sakes Malik, take the time rest and bond with your son or something, you're both in the same boat." Thusly taking to pulling him along.

"No worries Malik, I'll keep and eye on her so you don't have to worry. But you really should rest...then mental exertion alone is going to hit you sooner or later so you better just enjoy the rest." Just like him in a respect, never wanted to put the important things down when sometimes they needed to be put down.
PostPosted: Fri Nov 09, 2007 7:58 pm

She glanced at Malikhai and then down at Dhairiss who looked quite upset. She recognized that look adn frowned, "It's really not a big deal..." But the child wasn't allowed to have anymore. She didn't want him to be upset... "Umm...Dhairiss, would you like some milk or juice instead? There's some of that on the tray, too. We can wash out your cup and put that in, hm?"

"Then you seem to have the best of both worlds, don't you? You like the surface and you like the Underdark." She honed in on the 'had said' immediately recognizing the usage and laughed, "Did your dad change his mind? Daddy Kieran does that sometimes. It's rather amusing when he starts talking about what he'd said before."

Teenage invincibility indeed threatened. He nodded to his father clinging for a moment though that didn't last long and he pulled back. "Mom would smack me with a spoon for even thinking so make sure you write it down somewhere or tell her before something does happen. I'd hate to get smacked for doing what I was told, confuses me don'tcha know." Giving him a grin, "Like that. I don't agree with that in the least. I should be able to talk anyway I please as long as I don't teach bad things to Kelli." Glancing at the crib, "and he's in reverie."

"Good, I rather hate drastic measures. Drains far more energy than I have to spare." Nodding to Piper and Kieran, "If you two have him, I'm going to go get myself cleaned up. I look like I was murdered." Heading up the stairs, she popped into her own room, quite glad she hadn't immediately stripped when she saw her oldest son. "Having a chat, you two?" Waving a hand, "It's not my blood, don't fret."

"Well, alright, you can run it."

letting them drag him along, oh yeah, adrenaline was starting to wear off now, and pain and numbness was starting to really set in. and getting dizzy and lightheaded wasn't helping.

"Okay..how far will we get to where we're going?"
PostPosted: Fri Nov 09, 2007 9:30 pm

"It's like giving him candy. My dad gave him some when he really little, still nursing in fact, and he's just loved the stuff. Asks for it when he thinks he can get away with it and indeed tries to get away with it as much as he can. But Kaelin was handling it quite well...or she jsut didn't want to hear the kid bawl and be huffy.

He looked up to the table and the contents that sat on it's top. Another look to his cup and then the table, then Kaelin. Well it seemed like he didn't have a choice and he was indeed getting thirsty. Thusly getting back up and holding his cup up again, seeing as he knew Khai was all but useless right now. "Please milk?"

He blinekd, eyes growing a bit wider as he seemed to realize that he had made a slip up. For a moment he grasped for words before shaking his head and faking a yawn. "Parents are always changing their minds and their rules and what not. Does your dad do that a lot too?"

"Mom hits everyone with a spoon these days. She got that habit from you too so it's your fault. Always trying to steal cookies and bites of food before things were done." Shaking his head lightly at the memories. "He can still hear you, you know. Besides...that's dirty common language. Not at all pleasant to hear or dispense. And you know how I feel about dirth when it comes to my house and my family." Turning a look over to ZAhara...who was more or less covered in blood and he gave an exasperated look. "Unfortunately for me, your mother tends to forget." SHaking his head, "I thought you were done playing healer."

He was getting that inflection to his voice, see even if he whined his body knew what was best for him. "NOt very much farther A'mael. I swear, you complain and cry like a child." Getting him back to the inn and to their room, pushing him into a chair before taking to getting him out of bloodied clothing. "Are you satisfied now?"

"Candy?" Her eyes went wide, "Why would any parent willingly give their child such awful stuff?" Frowning and shaking her head then glancing down and nodding. "Yes, Dhairiss, you can have some milk." Taking his cup, she dipped it into a basin of water to wash it out then dried it and poured him milk in it before handing it back over to the small child. Keeping her voice soft she firmly commanded, "Do not spill."

Lharika frowned for a moment, since she saw that gesture, but let it go. "No, not really. Daddy Kieran is pretty good about sticking to what he says. He's not afraid to admit that he's wrong though." Pausing a moment and then settling down beside Mykorian. "Why are you in trouble with Zahara?"

"Well, if she woudln't make such good stuff that smelled delicious before it was done, I wouldn't have been trying to nab them. And it's not my fault I liked cookies. That's hers." Making a face at his father's dealings with dirt and then quirking an eyebrow at his mother. "Obviously not."

Zahara's hands plopped on her hips and she turned, squishing a bootprint into the blood that had already dripped onto the floor. That was rather gross to think about. "I thought I was too. But then your employer decided he needed to fight that surface elf and I'm not quite sure who won, to be perfectly honest. Malik looks awful, possibly even worse than Malikhai and I'm covered in various elven blood. It's not pleasant."
PostPosted: Fri Nov 09, 2007 10:30 pm

"I do not."

before he got settled down in a chair, and lolled his head back a bit, wincing as some twitch or the like caused pain someplace.

"Yes. and hopefully he will be, and with any luck we won't have to deal with him anymore. though I get the suspicion that you have your own intentions or dealings with his wife. I did notice that vial that came out on the field when I broke his jaw."

letting her get him out of the clothes, grunting and wincing at points.

"hopefully my condition won't panic our children."

Quirk of an eyebrow. "Parents aren't a big advocate of sugar based pocket treats hm?" Some people were just like that he supposed and there wasn't much that you could do about it. Blinking a moment. Hm, mom and dad were back...had be been well, he would of bolted over to check onthings.

Happily, as if earlier didn't even happen, he took his milk and nodded at her warning, sipping at it carefully. Though big eyes did follow something unseen and he stared at the wall a moment before then siddling up closer to Kaeling, a hand grasping to her clothing.

He watched her sit down next to him and blinked lightly. See it was happening again. Someone he didn't know was being all nice and getting cozy with him again. Was he going to get in trouble again? Suddenly he felt very nervous. "Trusting people too fast."

"Because she gave them to you for almost anything." She had, almost like rewardin an animal but he looked past that. It was how she knew how to make the child lik her. But another shake of his head at his wife and supressing a shudder at the mess she was making. "Yes well...you're about to make me clean you, the floor, or both. Why don't you get yourself cleaned up rather than drip and make me crazy?"

"Her and I made this deal of sorts, I'm just going to make sure that she's in the mind of everything is now settled. As far as the vial, that's her trying to get pregnant. Apprently while they don't have dirt fertility like I do, they're still having trouble. Though yes that may produce and heir that may want to get back at our family, as a woman I understand that particular pain, intimately so as you know." Shaking her head and taking a moment to get him more cleaned up and pushing him into bed. "Panic is not something to worry about...aversion would be the more keen worry."
PostPosted: Sat Nov 10, 2007 12:58 pm

"Sugar based? Are you sure...?" Kaelin frowned at his explanation of it and then glanced down as her clothing was tugged slightly by small fingers grasping. Watching the child closely, she looked back to his brother and looked highly uncertain for a moment. "Do you need something, Dhairiss?"

Lharika quirked an eyebrow at that and shook her head. "Drow are big worriers on that. Then again being in the Underdark and looking at their history, I suppose that makes sense. You do have to be careful down here whereas on the surface, you're mostly safe. Not always of course but intuition is important, too." She sighed softly and then continued, "Did you find yourself in a bad position because of your trust?"

Zykariel shrugged, "Spoiling me. I turned out okay, I think." Watching his mother and secretly quite amused since he knew his father's hand was itching for a rag and those icky smelling cleaning supplies he used without care. "I'd probably run, Mom. Dad's liable to jump you otherwise." He frowned at the knowledge and then glanced between his parents. "Does that mean it's finally over or is Malikhai going to suffer more?"

Zahara centered her gaze on her son for a long moment, taking in the teen's uncertain voice and stiff posture. This was affecting far more than just the D'vinn's. "I believe it's over but I wasn't present at the battle, only afterwards. Your father would probably know more." Turning on her heel, she headed into the bathroom, stripping down and scrubbing blood off her skin.

"Why would they avoid me? I'm sure I don't look that bad, do I?"

Laying as he was pushed into bed, watching his wife carefully.

"So you cut a deal. You get her that potion fertility boost, and she figures out a way to get her husband off our collective backs, right? clever. Are you sure your skin isn't getting darker?"

A slight chuckle...before a wince. yep, that hurt. probably not as bad as his son's broken ribs, but suppressing pain with adrenaline that wore off was bound to have some feedbacks.
