Well, that's why I mentioned Tsubaki. Her weapon is a short spear. There's also the Romans who fought with the short Hasta. o wo

@Z: You... Can't? the weapon isn't nearly balanced enough to be wielded like a sword, unless it was customized with some counter weight but even then, the length, along with the added weight would make it even harder to handle, not to mention unbalancing the weapon for practical use on top of all that.

Meh. o wo Spears are weapons that, usually, are best used in formation by a group of warriors. Swords are for when you suck enough to not kill your opponent at a distance.
