"I love you honey, be good. I will stop by and see you when i get back. Long as it is not after bedtime." He immediately felt a bit sad that the call with her was coming to an end already.
"BBQ. Very very lowkey. Moira, Lena, her son, Orion, Grace and baby Thomas. That is it. Only my family friendly friends." Killian replied calmly after Diana's question. He paused and sighed.
"I know you are probably thinking the worst. Thinking I ran off after of being a parent. That isn't it though. Something came up, I couldn't get out of it. I am sorry. I will be back as soon as I can though." He paused again.
"Why did you decide to have Alyvia if you think I'm such a s**t person? I mean...weren't you worried about what I was contributing to the kid?" He asked and hoped her answer would help give him some in sight into a woman's head.

"Well that seems like it could be harmless enough."Diana replied lightly as Killian quickly explained about what he had told Alyvia. Of course she wasn't sure what kind of reception it would be that Killian was hanging around with her, the agent that had partially ripped into the club. Perhaps he meant it only to be Lyv, which might be ok. She thought biting her bottom lip as he briefly explained why he had suddenly left without notice. "Things happen, Killian. Just wish you would have given me a heads up. I'm glad to hear you aren't abandoning Alyvia after you've just met her.Especially since she is so taken with you." But again a notice would be nice next time." It was foolish for herself to have been hurt by his erupt departure. They weren't anything but co-parents, and yet it had hurt. But more than that, she had to watch out for her child. The one that had always been begging to know her father; to have a father. Now that she did, Di wasn't sure she could separate the two and claim it was in the betterment of her child. Unless he continued this behavior. It had even made her question if she was going to move back to Virginia during the summer to continue her job with the FBI. But that hse had time yet to decide.

His next question made Di draw in a quick breath that she slowly released before answering. It was unexpected at this time, but she knew at some point he would ask why she kept Alyvia.
"Killian, none of us are all bad. And lucky for us, Lyv got all our good qualities combined. Even I'm glad she didn't get any of my bad tendencies as yell." As Di leaned against the counter, she closed her eyes. How many times had she run this conversation through her brain? Now to have it asked, and she didn't know where to start. Perhaps it was a better choice to have it over the phone. Then at least he wouldn't see the warring emotions across her face as she thought of when she had found out she was pregnant two weeks before her 18th birthday and before being released from juvie for that very reason. The fear, the indecision, the second thoughts, the anger - she had felt it all. Even after the decision had been made and set in motion. With a breath, she began to explain,"My choice to keep Alyvia had little to do with your inability to follow the rules, Kill. It had to do with... the fact that it was a choice. We both were a part of it consentually; it was as much my fault as it was yours. She was a blessing of sorts; a reminder of what we had." Di told him with a small smile at the memory of how inseparably they had been. All the times she had sneaked out her bedroom window after waiting up to hear his bike drive down the block. "You were never a bad person Killian. I just thought it was better... for all of us. You didn't want a kid back then; didn't want the settled life. Hell I knew that back then, and didn't you get what you wanted? If I would have told you then, can you tell me honestly that you wouldn't have hated me? Wouldn't have wanted out? That's why I didn't come back, Kill. I couldn't think of having you hate me for it. Even though you do now because I kept it from you all these years. I guess that's just fate. " Di shook her head. Not needing an answer to any of those questions. She pushed her body away from the counter, crossing to her computer that she quickly logged out of and closed the windows she had been working in. "I don't know if that answered your question. Why do you ask now, anyway? You can't tell me you believe all that s**t about the sins of the father..."

Killian had already lit another cig and was puffing away thoughtfully. Listening to his ex's words. Was she right? Would he have hated her? Yes and no. He would not have hated her for getting pregnant, he would have resented her for it at first. Thinking his world was ending. Once he had thought it over he would have been okay with it. Thought he would have been a lot more reckless, and taken a great deal more risks to provided for his impending family.

Especially once he found out the child was a girl. He had a rough life, and would never want any child of his to lead the sort of life he had. Especially not a sweet little girl. No, he would have landed himself in prison taking risk after risk trying to make money fast. Di would have left him eventually as well, because she was wild and okay with bending the rules but she had her own moral compass. Something Killian didn't really have back then. All he had back then was the will to survive by any means necessary.

"I didn't tell you because I am afraid your phone is bugged." Killian admitted.
"There are certain people still looking for Cadie. You were very involved in the case against the KOR and the Angels, so it stands to reason your phone is bugged. From us, them or your own people. I just couldn't take the chance of telling you where I was going and bringing trouble to the door of good friends that are helping her." Killian grew quiet a moment.
"I actually do believe that...I know it sounds silly to you. I think certain things are just ingrained in us. As much a part of us and them as if they passed on their tendency to drink, or even something genetic like a heart condition. So things are just beyond our control." Killian thought about his own up bringing and all the horrible things he had taken from it.
"You did the right thing not telling me. As much as I hate that you didn't tell me, it was the right decision at the time. Just because it hurts me, doesn't mean it wasn't right." He flicked his cigarette away.
"This all is coming up now because I am trying to understand how and why a woman would think she can love and accept a child, raise a child that was fathered by a piece of s**t father. I mean...I am not as bad as some...but I won't be winning any Father of the Year awards either." He looked up and saw Jethro walking toward him.
"Cadence is pregnant. The paternity options are Ben....or Black. She is pretty sure Ben is the father. Neither man is exactly Father material, but at least Black being father would have offered the child some sort of protection from her own people. Now...none of them will ever accept her back in the family. They will always believe, they won't voice it but in the back of their minds they will believe that she has some sort of loyalty to Ben and his people." He had a hand rubbing the back of his neck.
"Lena talked with her, and instead of telling her what a mistake this kid would be, she convinced her it was a great thing. It isn't. She is not ready for a kid. She is barely more then a kid her damn self, and she will have to do it all alone. Once he finds out...who knows what that psycho will do. How does she expect anything that is half Ben to ever be a good person?" He shook his head. Jethro was on Killian's side but he would not openly say so when his wife Eden was around, because Eden was on Cadence's side.

Diana could only nod her head in agreement with his explanation as to why he didn't say anything before he left. It truthfully only made sense and he was protecting his friend. "I don't need you to tell me where you are, Kill. Just that you'll be gone. You're a grown man with things to do. I understand your reasoning to not tell me where you are." She listened quietly as he spoke about what had made him ask the question he had. Di shook her head at the low esteem he seemed to have about himself. No he wasn't the best person in the eye of the law; never had been. But that didn't make him bad, right? And since he had found out about Lyv, hadn't he tried to turn his life around. Shaking her head once again, she could only think it wasn't really her place to judge any. She herself had been wild once. And yet there were some that said she didn't follow everything to the book, but at least she got results.

Her brows rose at the confession of Cadie being pregnant. That sure was shocking, but yet not unbelievable after what had happened to the girl. It was understandable why he was conflicted. Diana could only truly imagine what Cadence was going through and thinking. After he had finished, Di let out a breath and spoke once again.
"As much as you may not understand it; it's her decision in the long run since she will be with the child. There is more Killian, that goes into raising a child than just what genetics give. They might create a little more predilection. But the environment and attitudes around the child shape them more. A child isn't born good or bad. If she really wants the child, then she should have it. Maybe it will give her a chance to start new. Hadn't she lost one shortly before even meeting Ben? Anyway, Cadie's still legally has that restraining order against him. Not that he will follow it, but whenever he gets out of jail if he violates that he's violating parole and will be put back in quickly." Di stopped there for a moment to let her words sink in. "If she chooses to come back to Shadow Creek, she's got Lena to help her I'm sure. And there's you, the friends she's with now, other friends that she has here, plus I'm sure anyone else she asks. You'd be surprised how much help she might be able to find if she only asked for it. However I won't claim to know anything about how your club business works with the Angels. But they truthfully won't accept her back? After everything?

Killian sighed deeply. "Yeah....she did lose a baby...very recently. Too recently for her to be thinking clearly now I think." He listened to Diana's words. Trying to let them all really sink in. She was much smarter then he was. Could see things he couldn't, and often was able to process things in a way that he just was unable to for whatever reason. Whether it was his ego or what he didn't know.
"I know it is her decision, it's a bad one though. I can't shake the bad feelings this is bringing. I feel like this is the start of something really bad. Really ugly." Killian trusted his feelings, they had always proven to be right.
"I can't help her. Not if she has this baby. It is a mistake, and sends the wrong message. I love her like a little sister, but she is binding herself to that sick f*ck by having this baby. He will find a way to use the child to hurt her, and manipulate her. He won't be in prison forever, and even while he is in there he still has every right to see his child. Nothing can change his legal rights to have contact with his child." He shook his head as he envisioned his friend having to endure jailhouse visits to her attacker with the product of those attacks.

Killian couldn't imagine anyone wanting to nurse or love a child that shared the attacker's eyes, or smile, or anything like that. He had no idea how someone could do it day after day and love that child completely. Of course it was possible, people did it all the time. People found a way to love their offspring regardless of who they resembled or how they came to them. He just couldn't imagine himself in that position.
"Orion will have to keep her at arm's length for fear of what the KOR might do. He would be endangering his own family. Sister or not, his first and most important obligation is his wife and son. As for the rest of them...they are men, and like me they won't be able to wrap their heads around the idea that she willingly birth this man's child and is raising it like nothing. We are not as open minded as women. Not only that...we will all back Jasper. He may have a new girlfriend, and be over Cadence but I still think it will be a knife to the heart when she shows up with Ben's baby in tow. He loved her, and sure their baby wasn't planned, but he had accepted the responsibility. He was even looking forward to it. He did nothing to deserve his baby being ruthless snatched away, same way Ben did nothing to deserve having a child." He sighed.
"I think it is better for everyone if she does go away. I briefly tried to convince her to return to the Creek but now....this changes everything. She can't come back. It will not be safe, and be extremely painful for too many people." Killian let his mind wander back to Jasper. He really wasn't sure if the man was completely over Cadence. He appeared to be but then again it's not like he had to face her since everything had went down.

Killian watched as Cadence came out of the house with Ethan trailing close behind her. He followed her to the car, and stopped her when she was beside the car. He stepped into her personal space and laid his hand on her upper arm as he spoke. Kill found Ethan's behavior to be very interesting and a bit concerning. Cadence quickly and easily moved away from Ethan who seemed to come to his senses. He took a small step back and then gave a little wave. He watched Cadence go before his attention turned to Killian.

Ethan was confused and frustrated. He wanted the pixie of a woman in his bed but she seemed immune to his charms. Hell she seemed not to even notice his flirting. It made him want her even more because she was now like that delicious ripe piece of fruit that was just out of reach.

She was funny, kind, smart and sassy. She was spirited and despite everything she had been through she was determined to move past it. To live her life, and not allow anyone to stand in her way, or even dictate what it was she should be doing.

She was determined to move away and raise her baby alone. She wanted her child to know nothing of the horrible man who had genetically contributed to her making and nothing else. She still had dreams and goals, and she was still trying to figure out ways to reach them. It was that drive and fearlessness that had somehow made Ethan fall for this girl.

It also made things harder on him. She wasn't the type of girl who would just put out and accept that he had gotten what he wanted and was done. No she would call him out on his sh*t and he didn't want that. He was at war with himself, and he sensed it would only get worse.

Ethan stared back at Killian and smirked. Killian and he were friends but also extremely competitive. He rubbed his hand over his bushy beard.
"She is very sexy. Glad you brought her here Killy." Ethan said as he winked at Killian and walked away. He just wanted to get a rise out of his friend. He enjoyed pissing him off.

Diana listened as Killian spoke again. It was hard to hear the man so distraught over the whole situation and know there was nothing she could do or say to make it better. It almost made her want to shed a tear. "I'm sorry, Killian. There's really nothing we can do. It's all up to Cadence if she is wanting to keep the child." Which was true. If Cadence made up her mind to keep the child now, then there would be no changing it. And any who tried, Di was sure would become an enemy. As much as she agreed with Killian that keeping a child that came from rape and tortue couldn't be healthy, it wasn't because of what she thought the child would become. Instead it was more the unstable mental capacity of the mother, and in part the child as the years went on. It was one thing to love, and keep a child, another to be afraid for your life and held against your will. What type of ill wishes would be brought upon the child? However in her career, Diana had known quiet a few mother's that had kept the children. The only way she could describe it to herself was like some sort of stockholm syndrome. So use to being with their captor, the child they wouldn't think of being without because it's an extension of that captor. But truthfully she would never know. Then he began to speak of the club. Why Orion wouldn't be able to accept her back, or the rest of the members for that matter. She sighed as she grabbed a wine glass and began to fill it with red liquid. That sense of family and loyalty among them she had almost forgotten. Well I guess I forgot the clubs a family that surpasses blood in it's loyalty. Cadence must know that since she has been around it so long. So then she knows what she is risking." As silence held between them it seemed there was something more going on on his side of the phone. That seemed even more true as she heard a muffled male voice through the receiver. "It seems you're busy, Kill. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help. Thank-you for calling. Lyv enjoyed hearing from you, and I'm glad to hear you are well."

Killian glared after Ethan. He wanted to punch him for that smug look. He turned his back though so he could focus on Diana. He didn't want to hang up with her just yet but he knew he had a few loose ends to tie up before he left. He also wanted to spend an hour or so with Cadence seeing as how she was determined to get lost.
"Yeah, I will call you back a little later. Little punk here that needs to be put in his place." He paused.
"I will call back around 7 tonight. I really want to talk to Lyv a bit more." He wanted to talk to Diana as well but he wouldn't tell her that. He was afraid that he would damage the co-parenting relationship they had going. He would do nothing to jeopardize his relationship with his daughter, so if he had to just be friends with Di then he would suck it up. Be nothing more or less then a friend. Alyvia wanted them to be more, but Diana's job and Killian's association with the Club made that pretty much impossible.
"Bye Di." He quickly hung up and went back to the house.

Several hours later Killian found himself driving back home. Hell he was about 20 minutes from home and feeling anxious. He glanced over at Cadence who seemed to be asleep still. He wasn't sure he was doing the right thing but he was to worried to care about what anyone else thought. She had two bad seizures within an hour of each other and it had terrified him. He knew Eden was a medical professional but he wanted Cadence home with her Mother. She had cared for her the majority of her life, and he felt like this was a time when Cadence needed her Mother Lena.

He knocked on the door and shot a glance back at the car. The door opened and Killian's attention turned to Lena who was standing there staring at him. For a moment the pair just stared at each other and then Lena stepped out of the house.
"Oh god...what happened Killian?" He looked visibly shaken up.
"What happened to her?" Lena's voice had gotten a bit higher like she was verging on hysterical.
"Lena, calm down." Killian stepped aside and pointed toward his car.
"She had a couple seizures back to back. I was concerned and brought her to you. I know Eden is a Nurse Practitioner but I still couldn't leave her with her. I was scared it meant something was really wrong...." Killian was unable to finish what he was saying because Lena was running to his car and opening the passenger's side door.
"Cadence....? Cadence...?" Lena tried to rouse Cadie with a gentle shake.
"Huh....? Mom...?" Cadence awoke disorientated and confused. Lena was unbuckling Cadence's seat and pulling her from the car. Cadie stumbled still not feeling quite right but followed her Mother.
"I don't want to be here."
"You are safe here. I promise you that. They will have to get through me before they can get to you. I can assure you if anyone is dumb enough to so much as give me a nasty look but Archie and Joshua will make them regret it." Lena lead her pass Killian. Killian followed the women inside, closing the door firmly behind them.

He watched in silence as Lena fussed over her daughter. Making sure she was comfortable, and had a nice mug of hot peppermint tea. Lena brought him tea as well. When Lena went back into the kitchen Killian was up and standing beside Cadence.
"How are you feeling?"
"Honestly...exhausted and out of it. My head hurts really bad too."
"You banged it pretty hard when you fell. Scared Eden and me s**t-less girly."
"Ah. Makes sense then. Sorry. What about Eden?"
"Yeah....hey, look....I know I wasn't very supportive of this baby thing. I still don't agree with it. I don't understand it though, so maybe that is why. I just want you to know that I will help in whatever way I can. I won't let anyone hurt you or your baby. You have my word. Eden will be in touch. She grew really attached to you and didn't want you to go, but I thought it was best you stayed close to Lena." Cadence patted his hand.
"Thank you Killian That means a lot to me." He nodded and then patted her head. One of Cadie's small hands moved to rest on her small baby bump. Already her body was changing, and even at fifteen weeks she was beginning to show.
"Rest, get better." He said and then Lena was back in the room.
"Going to get out of here now. She is in good hands, so I don't have to worry anymore." Lena handed Killian a cookie.
"Thank you for bringing her here."
"No problem. She was unconscious and couldn't fight me." He flashed a grin at the the two ladies.
"Killian, please don't tell anyone I am here. I just want to rest and keep a low profile as long as possible."
"You got it. Bye Candie, bye Lena." Killian grabbed two more cookies and took his leave.

Once Killian was out of the house he glanced at his watch. It was quarter of nine. Alyvia was probably in bed by now but he decided it was a 5 minute drive to his ex's home. He could easily drive over and try to see Alyvia. Worst thing that could happen was Diana refused to allow him to see Alyvia because she was sleeping. In which case he kept his word, and he would just return first thing in the morning.

In just minutes he was parking curbside in front of Diana's house. He turned off his car, and got out. He brushed his shirt off, ensuring he had no cookie crumbs on it. He attached his keys to his hip and started up the walkway. in just seconds he was knocking on the door and awaiting a response.

"Alright I'll talk to you later, Kill. Thanks for calling."She said her farewell with a sad smile. 7 would be a good time. After dinner, yet before bedtime, a good time for him to talk to Lyv. Perhaps he would want to talk more, and perhaps not. Alyvia was his child and main concern, no matter what old feelings and butterflies she felt. As the day moved on, Diana worked a little more, finishing most of what she had started earlier in the day, then looking into a few things centering on Cadence. What supports could she given the girl besides the restraining order? Especially now that she was going to keep the child, it might make a difference to the other woman and give Killian peace to know she's as safe as can be.

Before diner, Di took Lyv to a park nearby the house, just walking in the warm evening air the block or two to the metal playground. This was the same playground where she and Killian had really had their first conversation, starting their relationship all those years ago. Di had been swinging on the swings lazily one night after a fight with her parents, that Killian showed. Now going to parks was something her and Alyvia did often on warm nights. This was the first place they had a yard to themselves since Lyv was 2, so the playground often had given the two a place to be outside with something more to do before or after dinner.

When stomachs were starting to growl, the two brunettes walked back to the house and after cleaning up began to make dinner which tonight was tacos. When complete, the two ate outside at the old table on the patio that Di had instructed Alyvia to clean off while she had finished cutting the vegetables. As the sun set, the two found themselves inside once again. As Diana moved about the kitchen to clean up dinner, she shooed Alyvia into the living room to pick a movie to watch before bed, it was almost the weekend after all. As she went about the kitchen, her green eyes often drifted back to the phone she had left on the counter, just waiting for the screen to light up with a call. However no matter how many times she checked it, even during the movie, it never lit back up. Hiding her frown, at the end of the movie, Di lead her daughter to the bathroom for her bath, then moved the girl into her room to lay in bed and read some stories before bedtime. Diana had refurnished the extra bedroom in her parents house for Alyvia's room; keeping her old bedroom for herself and her parent's old room locked up yet.

Diana kissed Lyv's forehead after the third story, tucking the girl in before turning out the lights, and shutting the door most of the way before she made her way back to the living room, cell in hand. Just after the woman had lowered herself onto the couch, a knock sounded on the door. Diana turned quickly at the sound, wondering who would be here so late. Her gun was locked in her room; cautiously Diana moved to the door and opened it slowly. Relief flooded her when she saw Killian on the other side.Opening the door wider, Diana stepped out of the way to let them man in the house, stopping herself from throwing herself at him in an embrace. With him not calling, Di had to admit she was starting to think something had happened.
"Come in Kill. It's good to see you. I'm surprised you're back in town already. What happened to calling at 7?" She asked, closing the door behind his frame. "Lyv's in her room, possibly just closing her eyes. You can see her, but if she's asleep you better not wake her. Do you want something to eat? Drink?"

Archie Thompson

There had been a lot going on since the little weekend getaway that Archie shared with Lena. He hadn't heard from her for almost the entire day, which led the older man to the store. He stopped and grabbed a bouquet of flowers, as well as a movie for Tyson. He wasn't sure what was going on, but he also wasn't afraid to show his face and let Lena know when she was on his mind, which was damn often. Once his truck was parked behind her car in the driveway, Archie moved to the front door and knocked three times, bringing one of his hands up to push through his salt and pepper slicked back hair.

Grace was pretty upset about the whole event that had happened at her home. It was the one night that she had been able to go out with her husband, and it was ruined by someone. Her first thought was Ben and his men, the ones that had hurt Cadence. They were out to get that family, and coming after her and Thomas was one way to hurt Orion. Even with Black and Ben in jail, she was sure that their reach extended far beyond those prison walls.

She had taken Thomas back to the hotel room, given him a bath and had already placed him in a crib that the hotel supplied her with. He seemed unaffected by it, the whole thing, which made her feel a bit more relaxed. Grace tied up her hair and grabbed a cigarette, stepping out onto the balcony to look out over the town. She didn't smoke ALL the time, just when she was extremely stressed out.

Dereck was in a hurry. He and the guys needed to head out as soon as possible. "Kevin is on his way. I'm not telling you what I know, and you need to stay with someone. Don't be stupid, Lyn." His blue eyes looked her over, pausing only for a moment to look up from the gun he had pulled from his pants. "You tell him that there are people out there that could hurt you, I'm going after them, and until you hear from me...that you need someone to stay with you. You are pregnant, and if you put yourself and my children in danger because you're afraid to ask for help, I won't ever forgive you." He hated putting her in that position, but if it was a little tough love that would make her listen and keep herself out of harms way, then he was all for it.

After that Derek moved forward and kissed her forehead, moving back out into the main room as Kevin walked inside. "Kev, as a matter of fact, you're going to stay with Lyn until her cousin, or someone else arrives to sit with her." Dereck couldn't afford to take any chances. Kevin nodded and looked toward the redhead curiously, then back to Dereck as he and the others filed out of the clubhouse, and into one of the unmarked vans.

Lyn looked to Dereck slightly confused. First she was privy to information and was in on his meeting with his crew, and yet now she was to be kept in the dark again. It seemed to be the same back and forth as it was with Lincoln. First he didnt' want the man's help or for him to know anything, now it seemed that that was who he was demanding Lyn turn to and to tell him the just of everything. Maralyn crossed her rams over her chest, blue eyes staring at Dereck as she shrugged, "Fine I'll call Linc. He'll stay with me at the house. The security system's gotta be put in yet, and someone needs to be there for that. His next comment cut a little deep that he thought she was afraid to ask for help or would put their children in danger.
Hadn't she been all for doing exactly the opposite? She knew he said it out of love, but yet that couldn't stop the raw emotion of hurt for the harshness of it. Now was when Lyn averted her eyes from his gaze, not confident there weren't tears on the verge of spilling. After he left to move back to the main room, Lyn let out a breath before taking another and following him out to see him, Lucky, and Nate walking out of the clubhouse.

Turning to Kevin, she took out her phone to call Lincoln.
"You should be with them. Tell him my cousin pulled up just after they left. I'm fine. Go." She then dialed her cousin on the phone and began walking down the hall towards the kitchen for a little bit of space. When her cousin answered she said with a forced smile on her face,"Hey Linc! whatta say to dinner tonight and some cousin hang time? I can make anything you want or we can go somewhere on me. Only catch I need you to give me a ride from the Reapers clubhouse back home for a bit. Think you can manage? She loved her cousin, knew the man loved her. For that reason, she really didn't want to drag the man into this IRA drama unless truly needed. So she would deem how much he needed to know about it,
and tell him what she thought necessary to answer any questions and keep him safe. He was after all still family. If Dereck didn't want to talk to her she couldn't help him.

Killian grinned at Diana. "It's Shadow Creek, pretty quiet here. Not a whole on the home invasion front happening around these parts." He stepped in the house.
"Sorry, I know I missed the call. I was driving though. Something happened, I just wanted to get back to the Creek, fast as I could. I am home now. Home for as long as I can be." He moved toward Lyv's room. Carefully easing the door open as silently as possible, he poked his head in the young girl's room.

He couldn't help the big goofy smile that appeared on his rugged face. His daughter was snuggled down in her bed and just looked so cute. He took a long look and stored that away in his mental photo album of happy moments in his life. There were not many things in that mental album.

When he returned to Diana's living room he was back to business. Odd to see him so serious since Killian by nature was playful and silly. He stepped over to Diana and took her face between his hands.
"Sorry for everything that has been going on. I know I should just...let this all go but I can't. I feel like I have to protect the Club and Cadie. I am still trying to learn how to balance things because Alyvia is very important to me. I love her more than anything but I am not sure how things work between us. I don't know if I am talking to you as my ex and daughter's Mother or as an FBI agent. It is hard and I don't want to hurt your career or either of my families." He leaned in and kissed her forehead. He straightened up and his hands dropped to his sides. He had decided to just be upfront with Di, he had always been in the past. He didn't see why that should change now.

'Cause sometimes you just feel tired,
Feel weak, and when you feel weak,
you feel like you wanna just give up

~Cadence Jaycey Sinclaire-Caine~

Cadence was more awake and alert now. She was eating a plate of Mango all cut up and skinned. She was watching a random Lifetime movie and could feel herself getting all weepy. Quickly she changed the channel and decided on a nice slasher film.

Cadie frowned when she heard the door. Her Mother was upstairs showering and she wasn't sure if she should answer the door. Finally she huffed and stood up. She moved to the door and opened it. She wasn't sure who she was expecting to see but it was Archie.
"Hi....she's upstairs. Come in." Cadence quickly stepped back away to let Archie in.

Once he was in she quickly shut the door and locked it behind him. She awkwardly stood there a moment staring at Archie.
"Mmmm....do you want something to drink? I just made a fresh batched of unsweetened tea. It should be completely chilled by now. Blueberry tea." She paused, which silenced her soft and unsteady voice. Her anxiety evident in her voice, and the way she held herself. Rigid and distant, she also seemed to be scanning the room for all her possible exits.
"Oh...and Ma' just made another pot of coffee." She was nervously wringing her hands. She was feeling anxious and nauseous now that her mind was a bit more clear after the seizures.

She moved away from the front door and toward the kitchen. She remembered seeing Archie and hearing his voice when she was in the hospital. She still felt edgy and panicked around men though. She was sure eventually she could work through the fear but currently everything was just too fresh in her mind.
"Uh...Ma' cooked. Grilled chicken, baked potatoes and a simple salad." She stepped into the kitchen and immediately set to work, preparing a plate for Archie. Not waiting for an answer, she was working and moving to give herself something to focus on. Something to help calm her nerves.

She returned with the iced tea and plate loaded with food. She set it down and looked toward the stairs. Her Mother was calling down, and a moment later she came down. Once Lena spotted Archie she lit up. Cadence moved away after grabbing her bowl of Mango bits, and walked over to the stairs.
"Hey Archie!" Lena called and made her way to him. Her arms went around him and she lightly kissed him.

Cadie disappeared upstairs without a word. Her Mother didn't notice since her attention was on Archie. She rubbed his lower back with one hand. Gently kneading the area.
"This is a nice surprise, and flowers. Very sweet." She accepted the flowers and stepped back. She smelled them and smiled. She loved flowers. She loved working in her garden.
"I see she got you situated for dinner." Lena eyed the tea.
"That tea drinking she got from her Father because I am an avid Coffee drinker. Want Coffee instead?" She asked. She could ALWAYS go for a cup of Coffee. Tea was a drink for when she wasn't feeling well in her opinion.

But you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strength
And just pull that sh*t out of you and get that motivation to not give up
And not be a quitter, no matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face and collapse.

~Orion Michael De La Cruz~

Orion was already out on the balcony. He had a glass of whiskey in hand and was just finishing up with some of his calls. He wanted information and he wanted it fast. He wanted to know who had targeted his family, because he wanted to deal with them himself right away. If they wanted to get at him, then they should come for him.

He did not believe women and children should be brought into matters that involved the men. He was a man of honor, and rules. He lived by how own rules and his own code of conduct. What they did went against everything in his code. He would ensure they did not live to break his code again though.

When his wife came out and lit up a cigarette he said nothing at first. He took a sip of his drink. A deep sigh and then he looked at Grace.
"I am sorry your night was ruined baby. How is he?" He wanted, no needed Nurse Grace to tell him that Thomas was perfectly fine. His Wife he needed to reassure, and protect and right now he had no idea where the threat was currently coming from.
