((only one post for today, for me. and AWWW you made a recap! That was MY job! Self-delegation! *sigh*))
Aerclayr, in another room now, fitted the valuable gauntlet onto his wrist with care. The special metal was of Elxonian make - a strange, isolated planet long since destroyed. Inside the planet could be found this strange metal - and with unique refining and forging techniques now long forgotten, the metal was forged to be able to absorb elements. A special energy source, which would self-destruct by powerful internal imbalances if anyone attempted to remove it, powered this gauntlet into being able to absorb and amplify any temperature and any high-frequency molecular matter (energy).
It was more valuable than any other kind of weapon for singular use (as in, for use by a single person, not like the giant guns on space ships and such).
Then Aerclayr examined the ships armory of weapons. ((Uh... may need your advise for this. What kind of weapons does Layla typically just carry around on her ship, if any?))

((Well you weren't on and Techni wanted an update... xp
and Layla would have anything thats as new and advanced as she could possibly get something, so probably mainly laser-based weaponry...depends.
I'll have to post tomorrow as well, gives everyone else a chance, too that way... sweatdrop ))

"Right I see no problem with that, as long as he's in this ship within the next two minutes. I just recalibrated the crystals and... Is damien still in the engineering?" Jad asked, twirling the chair around to look at the back door.
Dr. Len and Rin came up running, "Let me come with you!" The scientist said, almost out of breath.
"Alright, you can come too... nerd..." Jad muttered the last word as he turned back toweard his console.
"Okay, Blake. Red crystal in the blue slot is alternate fire, meaning railguns, red crystal in the green slot is the cannon, and red in the red slot is all weapons on the cannon. The screen above, that kind of looks like a big shiny black TV screen is your camera and targeting computer. you have one red crystal. joysticks are the angle and rotation of the gun. got that?"
---
Dr. Erin nodded, "I know how that is..." She sighed, "Now are you able to take my hand, or should these Myna units carry you to the factory?"
(I prefer Diana Wynn Jones novels myself... I'm going to leave Kaito and Miku alone for a moment... assume they're cowering in the fighter bay of the Dragon... And Dr. Len is likely to stick with Atlantis, but not until he retrieves his stuff from Sentinel.)

(( xd My mom reads Dean Koontz as well, though her favorite books seem to be Stephen King novels...
I'm still on Eragon as for Paolini, that storyline just doesn't catch my attention as much as some other stories do...>_>))
Layla pushed past the group of robots and Erin, bitter determination sparked in her eyes. "Just lead the way, I can get there on my own!"
~ ((xD for Vexis's post color (slate blue) I almost wanted to type "color=VexisBlue]" for the code...shows just how much I associate that color with her. lol))
Vexis stared at one star in particular for a long while, it was small and only dimly glowed, it's aura was almost grey to her...almost like Aerclayr seemed. She reached her hand out towards the window, not phasing through it, but merely touching the glass. "Obscure and small, dim and almost obsolete compared to the others...abnormal and imperfect...different." Her gaze focused on several other stars surrounding that one, all of which looked the same -including almost identical auras. She looked down at the floor, almost shamefully. "But I'm not special like you, I'm all the same as everyone else...my star is just pink, thats the only difference..." she said a bit pouty to herself, her eyes lost their bluish glow now.

((lol, and that should be a color! as for the novels... i've read stephen king, but he... his books are just not quite as appealing to me. not bad, just not as close to my tastes as other books are.
and eragon RAWKS. hate the movie, though.))
Matt switched on the dangerous blade he held, uncertain how to wield it and very apprehensive. His stance was bad, his grip too tight, and his stature one of nervousness - the exact opposite of the relaxed, non-tensed muscle system he need to have.
"A-are you sure we shouldn't start with something less... lethal, first?" The cabin boy asked slowly. He didn't fancy dismemberment.
~
Marth was walking up as the two captains - pirate and Grand Admiral - spoke. Without a word he climbed aboard, with the modified sniper rifle and a set of ordinary blades he had salvaged elsewhere.
The Elxonian gauntlet was old, and in ill repair. But even without centuires of maintenance, the outstanding piece of ancient but magnificently effective weaponry was superbly sturdy and durable.
It would take a sharp eye and a knowledgeable mind to determine the special qualities of the gauntlet - except, that Jad had seen it in use, as well as probably most of the Atlantian crew, due to Nina's video output during the previous battle aboard the Pyresian ship.
Blake nodded in reply before turning to the gunning system. "Guns aren't really my thing, so normally I'd suggest Marth to take this post... but with ships, you'll find no better a pilot nor a gunner in the Empire than I."
Blake took the controls, messing with them slightly to get a feel for the sensitivity of the control mechanisms. He did not fire, but he did swivel the turrets in place for a few minutes.
Marth snorted, eyes closed and meditating in the floor. He felt no need to say it aloud, but his skills couldn't be worse at piloting than if he'd been an infant with an RC.
~
Aerclayr examined the armory, but the area he had access to only held minimal weaponry, and the armor wasn't top-notch, either. A DNA-required scanner guarded a door that most likely led to the more important pieces of the art of killing and surviving.

[I don't know how to read. Don't rub it in ._.]
Nina looked around at the people working in the bridge. It seemed like Jad was doing a fine job of handling things so she left to go look for Ion. If there was to be a fight, she knew he might enjoy it. "Ioooooon." she called out down the hallways. "That guy is either way too close to me or no where to be found." she muttered.
