((No, it takes place here. Just it's supposed to be... the OOC.))

ONWARD TO BATTLE!

"Heroism holding that kind of weapon? Disgusting." Griff stepped up, drawing his katana out it's full length. For a split second, he regret his lack of a real sword, but for now, the katana would have to do. His opponent had a rather goofy stance, but the typical of keyblade users. With a casual shift in stance, Griff extended his sword out infront of himself and waited. He wasn't so stupid as to rush into things.

((Sorry for the delay, got offline to watch a movie and fell asleep))

Kawaii just stood there, not moving at all. He and his opponent would just be staring at one another in their ready stances doing ab-so-lute-ly nothing.

Aw, hell.

Kawaii runs forward toward Griff, yet his progression has him moving more out of alignment with Griff to the right as his weapon is moved more horizontal with a raise of his hands and a twist of his wrist, causing the blade to have its end point more to the left now. He was closing in, but it would look like he was changing his path away from Griff rather than toward him. Where was he going?

Griff's movement took him off to the side, only opposite of Kawaii's "approach". In reality, his opponent had shifted out of the line of attack. Griff was not pleased about it and would not be allowing Kawaii to delay any actions that aren't important, at least to him. Griff would push forward, his left foot taking off first to match his opponent's direction. The first steps were to match trajectory, followed by a low duck.

With a twist of his wrists and a shift in his shoulders, Griff's katana was on his left to match Kawaii's G Blade on the right. The tip was pointed down, blade out. A quick sweeping slice upward would be aimed predominantly for the sword, as Griff honestly had no beef with the wielder of the keyblade.

He was matching his movement. This was a nice action move for them to both start out in. Instead of mirroring his movements, he would instead swing his blade to the left horizontally. If the two blades managed to clash, which looked pretty likely, the end would use its direct movement to the left to try to deflect Griff's blade to the Griff's right, a normal parry. For if this happened, his G Blade would then be halted after striking it, giving him a pre-emptive in being able to follow up with other actions.

((This post may be inaccurate. PLEASE correct me if it is.))

Griff was praying for a clash of steel, and the way it went down was a beautiful masterpiece for him. The clash would work just as Kawaii had plotted out if Griff kept his current momentum. But with the crash of metal, JAF would pull his left foot, the one now trailing, forward and stamp it down and push forward, twisting his wrist inward. This would cause the natural curvature of the katana to change the path of the G Blade upwards rather than down. Griff would use this to push forward.

Pushing forward would use both opponent's momentum inward, causing the G Blade to head to the guard of the katana rather than off the edge. Due to the opposing, blunt surfaces, they would catch. This was Griff's desire, and in this, the swords would both be caught. This gave him the opening.

Another shift, and Griff twisted the blade back around to a more natural position, the curve now headed down. But with that, Griff would sweep his left foot, where all the weight was pivoted, into an inward swing, aiming for Kawaii's left. He hoped to knock Kawaii's foot out and send him falling to the left, only propelled by the blade of the katana's curve.

He hoped.

The swirling mists parted to reveal him - huge and menacing, he approached the tree with a slight curiosity, moving over to it's gigantic base and kneeling to place his hand on one of the knarled roots sprawling out around it.

"You've been through a lot, haven't you..." John whispered to the tree as he patted it's bark, feeling the scars of many battles past carved into the wood. "...I'm sorry to put you through one more."

Sniffing some snot out of his nose and spitting out to the ground, he turned away from the tree and looked out into the ether, placing his hands into his pockets and leaning against the trunk.

His opponant shouldn't be that far off...

John would feel a thunk, as the metal end of a pole would tap the top of his head lightly, drawing his attention upwards, to a figure sprawled out on one of the lower branches.

Lean and tall, though not half as tall as the viking god, Sunstrike smiled lazily down at his soon to be opponent.

"That's alright," He said, even though it had been obvious John was talking to the tree. "I'll forgive you this once."

John smirked up at the boy. He liked a man with a sense of humour.

Spinning on his heel, John pulled his fist back, his teeth gritted as static leapt from his arm - as he smashed his fist into the root of the tree. Woodchips blew out from the hole John had smashed into it as the shockwave was sent over the tree, the tremor not felt in the extremities - but certainly would have been felt by Sun, as his branch shook violently, shaking him on his uncertain perch.

Sunstrike leaped as John slammed his fist into the tree, the vibrations sure as hell would have had him falling over himself if he'd not moved.

Purchase was found as he actually rolled down the back of the larger man and skidded to a low landing.

The pole was quick to poke the larger man in the lower back, although it didn't seem Sunstrike was out to do any real damage, just dig a little into the patience of his opponent.

John turned as Sun leapt over him, using him as leverage for his pole. He allowed the boy to get the ground, smiling as he turned to look down at him.

"How do you want it?" He asked, lifting his hands to pick woodchips out of his knuckles. "Naughty or nice?"

He hadn't reacted to the pole. The boy's weight on his hadn't even fazed him. He'd soon find out why.

"Wow, if you knew how many contexts I've heard THAT one in..." Sun grinned, he was probably going to get into a lot of trouble for this, and that was good, cause that meant he knew where he stood.

"Might as well go all the way, eh?" And he was already moving before the final word was out of his mouth, leaning and placing a hand against the ground, apparently to use it as a boost to leap back from the larger John.

John was also moving as Sun spoke, breaking from his stand to lift his hands up high - and smash them into the ground, both hands balled as they hit the dirt like a hammer smashing against steel.

A resounding boom echoed out into the nothingness as the entire ground trembled, the shockwave moving like the one on the tree, outwards in all directions. Static flashed off his body as he pulled his fists from the ground, shaking the dirt and dust off his body and looking up to see where Sun had gotten to...

Even as the shockwaves started to build and bulge around the earth of the arena, what Sun had actually left behind in his leap was now perfectly clear.

A rune of fire sat where his palm had been, and when John's wave hit it, there was an almighty explosion of earth and root, covering the area in dust and sparks. It was annoying, though probably not painful to Tomorrow, even if it singed a little.

Dirt piled up as Sun landed behind the stronger of the shockwaves, ground trembling beneath his feet. It was almost like standing on the edge of the beach and walking through the lesser waves. So he skittered sideways around the edges, looking for an opening.

"Spry, aren't you..." John muttered as he drew up to full height again, spying the boy out of the corner of his eye.

He watched him intently, static flashing off his body. His fists were bunched, but hung loose by his sides. His eyes were cold as they looked over his sunglasses, watching the boy move.

Static began to build over his body, flashing and wrapping around his chest and head, flowing down his legs and arms. It was beginning to grow faster, hurried, almost estatic ((sorry, pun)). His eyes gleamed as he looked over his glasses...

Ahh the Leviathan Stadium. A wonderful home to dozens of fighters from around this world. There were so many species it was impossible to count. If ever there was a place the gods had picked to make there own, this was it. Fresh seats, good company, and the most exquisite of sins, central air conditioning...

Gaian summers can be brutal. The heat in the middle of the day was unbearable the sun seemed almost like it was ready to jump down and bite your head clean off. On some really bad days it seemed the summer was akin to being in an impossibly arrid desert miles from any civilization with the sun at high noon beating down...

And thats where Maximos was. He could event begin to explain how.

There was nothing here but a tree miles in the distance and countless sand dunes.

Maximos was wearing, black. A long black jacket buttoned to the waist leaving the material to flow down to about his ankles, and split in the back, to be caught up by the gentle desert winds. The jacket had a hood attached, the hood was cast over the shadow warriors face leaving only the bottom half of his face visible and covering the top entirely in a shroud of black. The only thing visible in the shroud was a single white, glowing eye. The glow pierced the darkness like a knife through a curtain not exposing his face.

His right hand wore a full black leather glove and was brought up to smack dust off his coat. While his left, wore a fingerless glove and simply rested by his side.

A moment ago, he was at home. Now, Nocturne only knows where he was.
