Elysia Kavanagh "I'm not sure, quite honestly. I believe a few of the other women have had children or have assisted before, but I wouldn't know which ones. I can soothe the pain, though, if it will help."
Taniel led her slowly back to the wagon, careful not to push her too fast. "If the pain gets bad, tell me. I will sing for you. Do you have cloths that we can use to clean up the afterbirth?"
He may have been male and unmarried, never to be a father, but he had heard of and seen women giving birth before. He knew the basics, at the very least. Irina nodded fiercely at the offer of pain relief. "That would be wonderful!" she managed, hobbling along, clutching her stomach with one hand while the other gripped Taniel's tightly. "I'm Irina by the way," she said, managing a smile. "You're so kind to help me. Thank you," she said, giving his arm a squeeze with her hand. In any other situation, it might have been a flirtatious gesture, and perhaps it was her subconscious sending her a message, but at that very instant, she thought nothing about possible romantic conquests with the young man standing before her.
"Sing for me?" she asked, wondering if that was his conduit for pain-relief. "Yes, I do think I have some extra sheets around to clean up with afterward," he paused and looked him in the eye. "I'll be okay, right?"

Oqaia Hinoicarri Quote: Peera was a short, sunny creature, with hair too thin to curl, but you could tell that she tried. She stuck her hand out to Tamlin. "Nice to meet you." She acted as if she were greeting a friend, rather than someone held on arrest. Tamlin was pleasantly startled by the friendliness of this individual. "My pleasure, no need for ms. or any of that formality, Tamlin is fine" she responded with a smile as she grasped Peera's hand firmly.
"Its nice to finally meet someone who knows how to be friendly in this town, are you the one to help use get through this mix up?" "Well, you, yes. One representative per person. Why, is there someone else in your... Oh. Hello." Peera saw Zak in the doorway, and raised a hand in a wave. "He is here because he is my friend, Zak. And that boothman conned us both into a game and stole our fingers from us." Tamlin up her hand to show Peera the finger that was not there anymore. "I am glad of your assistance, but if you can only help me, Zak also will need an aid. so now, what can you tell us, or rather tell me, what this boothman has pulled us into?"

"no worries" he said, trying to smile.

Sizzla Irina nodded fiercely at the offer of pain relief. "That would be wonderful!" she managed, hobbling along, clutching her stomach with one hand while the other gripped Taniel's tightly. "I'll be okay, right?" "I'll sing once we have you settled," he promised, opening the door to her wagon once she pointed out which one it was. "And I'm Taniel - I'm the 'Banya man' that's come to town, as it were." He laughed, lightly.
"You should be fine - every birth is painful and messy, and I see no reason why yours should be worse than normal." He helped her get settled on the bed, then stood up, glanced around. "Where are those extra sheets? I'd hate for you to stain your mattress." Another wry smile - he was trying to keep the focus on mundane, amusing things, rather than her growing pain.

Irina made her way up the steps and into the wagon, the children following obediently behind her out of habit. Kal would have wandered off if it weren't for the sound of her mother gasping in pain every few minutes.
"Oh! You're the banya man! I remember hearing you were about, but as I only have a few couplets left, I haven't stopped by to see your birds -- or to breed my Lilas there," she said, pointing to Rydell. "Perhaps one day..."
She allowed him to help her to the bed and she lay down, finally a bit more comfortable than she was walking around town. "Ah, the sheets are in that drawer over there," she said, pointing to a small chest of drawers on the opposite side of the wagon. "Bottom drawer."
Again, another contraction started and she gasped, trying her best to breathe deeply. "I'd hate to stain the mattress too!" she said with small chuckle as the contraction subsided once again.

oqaia His face was sad, at that. "I don't want anything from you. ...And you look very much like a gypsy to me. Not natural?" He took a few steps as he spoke, encouraging her silently to move with him. She stammered slightly as she tried to figure out what to say, and then just gave it. "alright. I'll play along. let's have this tour of yours..." As she walked beside him silently, waiting for him to give her something else to work with.

"I think," he commented wryly, as he went over to fetch the sheets, "that you have quite enough children on your hands to start worrying about Banya chicks. They can be more trouble than you'd think?" Coming back over, he gently tucked the sheets under her legs.
"Can I do anything to get your son and daughter settled, before I start singing?" he murmured, resting a hand on her upper arm, lightly. "I'll fetch some water, as well."

Elysia Kavanagh Lorelei's skin goosebumped in fear, and she stopped, shaking her head. "This- I'm not sure I can trust you-" Why would he have brought her to a graveyard, at night, lest it be for some sacrifice? She shook her head - this wasn't a fairy story! But still, she had to be careful.
"I won't come any closer until you tell me what is going on. Why are we here?" Warren sighed and walked over to the steps leading to the entryway and sat down upon them. He then motioned Lorelei to take a seat next to him. "we are here for a meeting, but we are a bit early, please just make yourself comfortable"

Irina smiled as he spoke about the Banya. "I must say, you're quite right there. Seems like I'm soon to have even more work in my hands as well," she said, rubbing her stomach and feeling the baby kick inside. It was ready to be born, she could tell. The Savior...
"Water would be nice," she replied as he tucked the sheets under her legs. "And the children...well, I'm torn. I'd say let them play outside, but I fear they'll run off. Especially Kal. She's quite headstrong. I suppose they could stay here and meet their new brother or sister... Do you think that would be traumatizing to a child?" she asked, a look of worry on her face.

"Well, the song should help soothe them and you, so I think it would be alright." He shut the door to the wagon when he realized that he had his water flask at his side, anyway. He brought it over to her, held it out in offering. "I wouldn't worry too much."

But she waited, managed to keep herself mostly still. Mostly.

"Well, if it's soothing for everyone, I'm sure they'll be just fine to stay," she said, looking into his eyes. "I trust your judgement."
She took the flask of water and took a drink, finally noticing just how thirsty she was. Having a baby was stressful! And she hadn't even gotten through the hard part yet. That thought made her cringe a little, but the thought was followed by a real pain -- another contraction. They seemed to be coming closer together now, but she had help. She could relax a bit at least...

She could relax a bit at least... Taniel nodded, sitting down on the edge of the bed. He reached out and stroked her hair a little, pushing it from her sweat-beaded brow. "I'll sing now, okay?" he warned. After all, Irina had never heard him sing, as far as he knew, and it could be... surprising.
He started soft, letting her get used to the strangely high tones of his voice. He was a soprano, but not quite. There was a masculine quality to it that was altogether strange... yet beautiful. Entrancing. Magic flowed with the foreign words, soothing, relaxing. His voice grew louder only to a point that was just a bit softer than comfortable - audible but not grating.

Warren had reclined on the step leaning against the stone wall, despite his numerous accouterments laying every which way on the ground he seemed very relaxed. "Please," he gestured to the seat next to him again "make yourself comfortable, we are simply waiting for someone, and i believe i am right when i guess you would like to know what may be divulged this eve."

Irina smiled at him as he asked if she was ready. "Go right ahead, I think something calming might be nice right now," she said as she laid her head back against the pillow and closed her eyes in anticipation of his song.
True, she was expecting something quite different than what came out of his mouth, but as he sang, her ears got used to the voice and she began to find it remarkably soothing. Irina drifted into her own inner dreamworld, where she almost forgot about the pain of having the baby.
Kal and Eerie, who had been watching their mother grimace in pain every few minutes, also became transfixed as Taniel began singing. Kal almost instantly retracted a hand that was about to smack her brother's hooved foot, and Eerie, who had been expecting the hit, suddenly didn't notice Kal anymore. In minutes, the pair was leaned back-to-back. Both were sleeping.
