Bard blinked at the outburst from a man that had had gone completely unnoticed up until this point. Well, that much was clear since she man was now angry about being unnoticed. As far as Bard was concerned the little guy hadn't done a good job keeping his spot in line and as such it had been up to Bard to step up to the plate. But what was one person? It wasn't like Bard had brought over a whole caravan of people vying to get drinks!
Turning a bit, Bard rested his arm against the stall and crossed his legs at the ankle, attempting one of those cool poses people see in movies. He made sure he was more towards one side of the stall than the other so he wouldn't be in the other's way when he came up to get a drink, since Bard was clearly letting him go on ahead.
"I don't think you should play the 'animals versus humans' game here though. I'm clearly more human than animal and you're...well...I don't know what you are but you're less human than me so maybe next time you should stick with a polite "excuse me" and a quick explaination?" the man said with a bright smile that showed he was really more trying to help the other not get into a fight with someone who could really do some damage. Afterall, the boy had used quite the terrible choice of words to get his anger across.
Sliding over once the other stepped up to bat, Bard gave him a little lopsided smile. "How about if I buy your drink for you? Can't stay mad at a guy who buys you something refreshing now can you?" Bard was clearly and decidedly not hitting on the man as his tone was quite a bit different than the one he's just used for Rivener, but he was being friendly.

"Oh no no! It's fine! We`rika can pay for it no sweat!" Sevilin assured Ebony not to worry. It would be all taken care of later.
Enamored by a strong rush of fresh roses, the watery Frei looked over at his new companion. He flinched back a little as she silently pointed across from him. ".... Oh? These?" He wanted to make sure he was right this time. The little Raevan picked up a pink flower with large petals that lead to a pale yellow middle. He carefully pulled the delicate flower over and let Vyn look at it. "This one?" Sevilin's big eyes fluttered from the flower in question to Vyn.

After petting a couple of the animals, Zephr wandered around, looking at all the booths and interesting people that had gathered. Shutting his umbrella in the shade, he wandered to a booth labeled "Date Auction Booth" and quirked his eyebrow at the odd-sounding name. An auction to get a date...? That sounded rather-no, really- odd , and loooking around for information, spotted a familiar and pretty girl sitting at the booth, alone and applying sunscreen in a maid outfit. A small blush tinted his cheeks and he briefly wondered if there was some kind of costume contest. He decided to ask out of curiousity, also out of maybe making a friend or two. "Hello," He walked over to her and planted himself in a nearby chair. "Why're you dressed up, if I may ask?"

Sam narrowed his eyes as the man tried and failed to strike a ‘cool pose.’ Sam relaxed a fraction seeing the man open up so Sam could get past him until the he made the animal comment. “ My genetics is rather a touchy subject and I advise you do not wander upon it again,” Sam said through a rather forced smile that clearly showed of his sharp teeth. He was clearly somewhat hurt by the man’s observation however, for he tucked his fins in as close as they would get to his head and shoved his finned hands unto his pockets. “ I suppose I’ll let you buy me an iced tea, which is what I was going to get,” Sam said trying not to let the relief sound in his voice. He was rather tight on cash for the summer and although he hadn’t really been paying attention to his spending he could always use help in the money department. Sam supposed the man was right about him not being able to stay mad, rage simmering down to a low boil. Sam took a deep breath and tried to relax his body out of its tense anger. His short temper was murder on his blood pressure and one day he was sure he was going to die of a heart attack when someone insulted him. “ If you want something alcoholic the only thing they have is beer,” Sam said trying to be helpful. He actually didn’t want to get into a fight with this man, he wasn’t in the mood. Hopefully the man wouldn't poke him in the wrong spot again.

"All right, if you're sure. Thank you very much." Ebony was about to ask the Raevan his name, but saw that he was much more interested in attending to the darker of his kind. A tiny shrug was given before slender digits raked her hair out of the way so she could easily nestle the white gift above her ear.
She had wanted to purchase some seeds, but it seemed rather rude to interrupt the two now. Taking one last glance at the flowers, Ebony decided to slink away quietly and discreetly as was her style. Besides, she could get seeds anywhere or at the very least come back later. With her hands clasped together loosely behind her back, Ebony slowly ambled away to see the other sights this festival might present.

The part satyr knew all about touchy subjects and genetics. Anything that was part something else was never accepted to be part of either of what it was part of. If that made any sense. Bard's mother had been full human, but like Bard, his father had sported a pair of, as his mother described them, 'wicked' horns. Reaching out, Bard pat the guy on the back and shrugged, "Come now, I think it's cute. They're better than my horns, that's for certain. Not that I don't love them to death." Fins seemed a whole lot less threatening to the man. Horns were signs of the devil and demons and people didn't much know about satyrs in these days and times.
Iced tea? That sounded pretty boring to Bard, but whatever, the guy could have ordered a bottle of 30 year old wine for all he cared, as long as he wasn't getting his face punched out. Fights were all well and good, but this wasn't any time for such things. "I can do that!" Bard replied in an overly-eager to please manner, straightening up and turning back to the, how should he describe him? Not that Bard hadn't ever seen anything out of the ordinary, but Riv was something on a whole different level. And different levels didn't usually look so good.
"Beer's boring," the man replied in a sulky tone, looking at the drink menu that proved to be more than he'd expected and less than he'd hoped for. "Let me see...I could get a pink lemonade and add some of my own stuff to it..." Whatever 'stuff' Bard was talking about, it didn't actually seem like he was carrying it at the moment. His shirt was unbottoned, so nothing was hidden under there, and his pants pockets were clearly empty besides a pathetic looking excuse for a wallet, which Bard was currently pulling out to pay with.

“ Cute isn’t exactly why it’s touchy, I’d do anything to get rid of my relation to my father…” Sam mumbled incoherently. Sam looked up; he hadn’t noticed the horns or ears, so he was another non-human. He certainly wasn’t as threatening as the woman had been, Sam didn’t think he was magically inclined either. He did, however, c**k his head at the beer comment. Beer? Boring? Sam wasn’t exactly the legal drinking age but he wasn’t a stranger to the land of hangovers. He considered beer rather more like an old classic if it was good. The beer here was probably too cheap to give to a dog, however. Sam sighed, “ Just get something.” He wasn’t really all that impatient, it was just that he had seen the raevan serving them get impatient and rather violent twice now. Sam eyed the stingers on the tips of Rivener’s wings wearily. He really hoped this guy’s indecision didn’t get the two of them poisoned. As he looked from the raevan and back to the stranger he noticed that the guy was practically making googoo eyes at Rivener. Was Sam accepting drinks from a gay guy with “All Aboard” shamelessly tattooed onto his stomach? He certainly hoped not. Maybe he was just distracted by Rivener’s good looks and was jealous? Sam had to admit that Rivener certainly was fine but not in a way that would make him actually want to have the near sociopath floating creature near him. Sam uneasily edged away a fraction. Waiting for Bard to place his order.

Gage finally arrived at the festival just as his guardian finished delivering an unwanted kiss and storming off without any explanation given for it. Understandably, the vibrantly green Frei was a good deal more ill at ease with such open displays, and more or less tried to blend into the scenery as he passed the first few booths. His inappropriately numbered fingers threaded themselves between each other, Gage's hope being that he would not attempt to touch anything without having time to be reminded he might eliminate it in the process. Very little time passed before his inverted eyes locked onto the usual object of his timid affections, but she seemed exceedingly busy with another of their kind. He had never been one for interruptions, or even joining into conversations already begun. As much as he differed from his owner, they both had mounds upon mounds built up of social ineptitude.
After some time spent weaving in and out of the crowd, Gage found the shadow Raevan's lady and decided that was half as good if not seventy-five percent. While he had no ability to smile, he tried his best to look approachable. Then again, that female in particular rarely had problems with speaking to Julian, so he strongly believed she would not be at all bothered by him. "How are you, Shuu…ra?"
Julian walked in long strides that might have been difficult to keep up with if there were not so many bodies he had to move around or push aside completely. There were plenty of options on where to tuck himself away again on the grounds, but none appealed to him in the slightest. Troubling thoughts infiltrated his mind in rapid-fire succession to the point he wanted to simply scream and let out the rest of that carbonated anger Aphismet had shaken far too strongly. Gloved fingers struggled with his tie, loosening the fabric until he could use his ability to breathe once more.
It was dangerous, he decided, that he reacted that strongly in such a situation. Not even the doctor ever irritated him that thoroughly.
When Julian stopped, he was just under the awning of a booth on the opposite side of the event from where he had once been. The young lady he had kissed had not yet caught up to him, and thus his mind was still full of what he could have done to the other man had the women not interrupted.

The more she gained on Julian, the more crowd thickened between her. Bathing suit clad locals crowded the festival, and as she navigated the half-naked masses, she felt her own body temperature rise. A black dress on a hot summer day was clearly a bad idea. Why did she get the half-baked idea that there would be air conditioning at this event? Her knees felt like rubber bands as she lumbered through thr crowd, chasing after the young scientist. Her lips still burned from the kiss, but she had no idea what possessed him to do it.
"W-wait... J-julian will you please," Natsuki called breathlessly, completely convinced he was either ignoring her or wanting her to chase after him.
Hesitation gripped her when she saw him furiously claw at his necktie, arriving at a halt beneath an awning of one of the booths. Natsuki forced herself into the cooling shade, pulling at the frog enclosure of her mandarin collar. Parched from the heat and worn out, she braced herself against the side of the stall, her gloved fingers gripping the counter top.
"...Julian..." Natsuki whispered fearfully, as her curtain of red hair hung over her eyes. "Can I ask what that was all about?" Try as she may, the cafe manager couldn't bring herself to look him in the eye. She simply found Julian too difficult to read.

Rivener was staring at the two men in front of him with a level gaze. His mouth was tight-lipped as he waited out this little tiff of theirs. His wings were dipped low in slightly entertained annoyance. Thankfully it wasn't very long before the two men worked it out, and the purple-haired one turned to him to order.
Rivener was well-used to the looks he was getting from the strange horned guy. Riv smirked and leaned over the counter easily, under pretense of getting more comfortable. He used his well-practiced sultry voice when he spoke, his eyes half-lidded attractively. "We don't have any "good" acohol. I suggest the lemonade. People seem to like it." He flashed Bard a sensual smile.
Heheh, that should flabbergast the customer long enough for Riv to fetch the other guy's iced tea. He bent over and got another glass with ice, filling it with the liquid. When he straightened, he slid the drink to Sam, with a toothy smile. "It's clean," he declared amicably. Being admired by someone who, decidedly, was rather good-looking, had put Rivener back in a personable mood.
Aphismet frowned after Julian's retreating figure. When Alex casually spoke of hurting him if he hurt her, Aph blinked. What a strange coincidence. "That's exactly what he'd said about Chloe," he muttered mostly to himself, although loudly enough that Alex might have heard.
Turning to the Italian, trying to get back into a good humor for the Festival, Aphismet smiled. "I'm going great, actually, if you don't count that." He glanced at Julian to accentuate the word. "Munchies is doing really well, and already made fast friends with Beauregard in particular. Although she still likes to chew things. And did you know she can sing? Well, sing... that's stretching the word." He laughed.
"And you, how're you?"
By this time Munchies had noticed the other people that were around, and she'd squeaked out happily at seeing Alex. She remembered her vaguely, but more importantly she had a strong sense of safety and familiarity at seeing the black-haired zoologist. She wiggled even more, trying to free herself from Aphi's grasp so she could visit that other person.

Shuura scowled inwardly as her sunscreen-applying ritual was interrupted by a voice. She glanced up, seeing a boy that looked vaguely familiar, but she couldn't really place him. What did he--oh. A potential customer. Her demeanor sweetened up visibly, as she stood up in order to shed her peacoat. She could reveal the ridiculous outfit now since she was at the date auction booth anyway. The person who had asked was a youngish-looking boy, who was even kind of cute. ...She hoped he was rich.
"It's for the charity date auction," she answered in a pleasant enough tone. "There's a theme going on for the volunteers of the auction, and my theme was that of a french maid." She said, hanging the coat on the back of the chair before sitting back down. Without the coat covering everything, the skirt of the maid outfit was rather on the short side. Shuura secured her maid cap in place, pinning on her signature skull-and-crossbones hairpin on top of it before continuing. "The proceeds of the auction is going to a good cause--" yeah, my tuition, she thought sardonically to herself, "and is going to be held a little later. You should consider particpating." She smiled sweetly. Or, as sweetly as a normally acidic human who thrived on sarcasm could manage to be.
Glancing to the side as she heard someone attempt to butcher her name, she saw Gage. "Goo-boy," she greeted nonchalantly enough, arching an eyebrow at the surprise. "Where's that incurable bore of a guardian of yours?" She asked, the corners of her mouth twitching slightly. She didn't know why the green Raevan had chosen to approach her, since they practically had little to no previous interaction asides from their mutual fate of having to deal with Julian on a day-to-day basis---him more so than her---but she was agreeably tolerant enough of the other's prescence.
Vyn nodded at Sevilin in response as he offered her the primrose. A faint smile flitting quickly but surely across her face. She didn't really want the flowers, but she did want to see if he would do what she asked. This one was so eager and helpful. Carefully accepting the flower from the other Frei without touching him, she felt a little smug that the other had rushed to please her so speedily. Her liking of him increased, and she floated a smidgen taller than she normally did, bringing her to about the same height Sevilin was floating at.
"I do not know." she began softly, a little haltingly, her earthen-toned voice quiet and strong, but silky like petals. "Your name..."

Amaris chewed on her lip pensively as she stared into the crowd. She'd done this once before at another party - it wouldn't be that more difficult this time around, would it? Of course, this time she didn't follow Gage but obtained a flyer and came herself... with a certain little girl (and familiar) in tow.
"How you doing, Mitsu?" She asked absentmindedly.
The little Fa'e toddler on her shoulders sighed and half-heartedly bonked her guardian on the head. "Hot," she whined, rustling her mismatched wings in an attempt to fan herself.
"Good," she murmured automatically, but caught on after a moment and corrected herself with a "No, no, bad! Errr," and scanned the crowd again. There were all sorts of booths... "Uh, hey, do you want something to drink?"
"Y's" answered her charge and draped herself dramatically over Amaris' head. Rat poofed from a deranged-looking puppy at the woman's side to a deranged-looking monkey and quickly jumped up and hung, quite satisfied with himself, off her left hand. Amaris braced herself for impact and waded through the crowd to the refreshments booth.

Alice had been ducking out of the Jewelry shop in Barton when she saw the festival. The multicolored booths and sounds of people called to her, beckoning like a siren call. She preferred to stay inside unless she could pull her 4D form back inside her 3D self, but today she simply didn't have the energy required for it. She knew that visiting it would be a mighty bad idea, because this was not Aekea or Durem...this was Barton. Plain old vanilla Barton.
Then she saw them. Raevans, though she didn't know they were called that. Fascinated, Alice continued towards the festival, keeping in shadow as best she could...but the strange ghost like creatures were everywhere. There weren't as many as there were people, of course, but they floated in midair and spoke in what she could vaguely pick up as childlike speak. Their voices sometimes were halted, as if they really were unsure of the words rolling off their tongues.
Standing by a booth, her violet hand laying against it, horizontally split eyes alive with wonder. "What are they?" she asked herself, examining the mingling creatures further. Were they creatures? Manmade, or otherwise? Alice was sure she stuck out like a sore thumb, being nearly seven and a half feet tall and bright purple, but she didn't care. Alice watched the festival move at its leisurely pace, her vision flicking between the various raevans she pointed out.

Annoying Rivener had been the highlight of the day so far, though meeting the model of her plushie was a very close second. The two vied for the top spot constantly as Niksia sat in a pocket of shade with her drink. Since she had taken to sitting in one of the rare spots of coolness it seemed that the festival was a little more highly strung than first suspected.
People shouted at each other, had close moments, stormed off and generally got in one another's faces. Bliss. The darkly red haired woman roasted gently in her black clothes while she watched with nosy intent. It was saddening to admit the red and black Raevan might have been right, it was warm dressed like this.
Why hadn't she remembered her manners enough to ask his name?
Drat.
Maybe listening to a fight while she thought where to go next would cheer her up. Only so many ways a fight could end, all were equally appreciated.

Humming lightly to himself, Eiry worked his fingers in and around the balloons. He was able to undo a lot of the strings and he had tied them in a way so they had loops at the end that you could slide around your wrist. Isi had taught him that just after the last customer. Eiry silently thanked fate for landing Isi in such a great mood. That big number, the one he couldn't count to, on the check made him really really happy. By observation, Eiry had noticed that when Isi was happy was the best time to ask him for things. Eiry wasn't about to waste the good humor the boy was in, so he was asking questions left and right.
Sliding a couple balloon loops around his arm, he focused on undoing the others. However, the next time he reached for them, he found them floating out of his reach. Wait...No that wasn't right. They weren't moving out of his reach...He was! The balloons on his arm were slowly lifting him up higher and higher into the air!
Releasing an appeased giggle, Eiry latched onto the booth and pulled himself back down so he could reach the other balloons.
"Eiry, what are you doing?" asked Isi, drawn to his frei's actions when the booth began to shake. The boy leaned back on his stool so he could see what was going on.
"I'm redoing the balloons, Uncle," Eiry replied happily.
Isi choked on his next words and he squeaked in a panic, "Eiry, put down those balloons at once! You're floating up in the air!"
"Yeah!" Eiry bubbled, "I'm like big brother now! See? I can go high like Riv!"
"Nonononono... No. Tie down those balloons that you have right now, I don't want you to go flying any higher than this booth with your wing broken, understand?! I don't want you to get hurt and those balloons could very possibly drag you very high." Isi was on the verge of leaping up out of the chair and grabbing Eiry himself to pull him back down to the safety of earth. He knew, however, that he would probably just make Eiry panic if he did so.
"Okay," Eiry said, complying with his gaurdian's demands. Slowly, he began retying the balloons on a pole sticking out beside the booth. He had added it in while they were waiting for customers. One by one, he slipped them onto the pole, then turned around so he could untie some more, "Like that?"
Isi sat back in his stool, finally relaxing. He gave a meek smile and watched his raevan solve the balloon problem. "Yes, Eiry, that's a good boy."
