Kitsune Ookami Anyone remember that cartoon Histeria? Well I remember two accounts of POTO refferences ^^ Once they were talking about the national anthem and they showed these guys auditioning composers to write it and one of the contestants was Erik! Another time they had a dating game skit where one of the characters had a choice between MANY historical figures and one of them was Andrew Lloyd Webber dressed as Erik ^^ Also, I swear that the organ playing ghost in the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland/world is Erik! Even when I went through the stage of my life when I was either totally or semi afraid of the Haunted Mansion (embarassingly it lasted from the age of three till the age of fourteen redface ) I looooved seeing the Erik ghost in the ballroom section ^_^

Wow... this is scary... earlier in the thread I mentioned that the Count from Yami no Matsuei (Descendants of Darkness) was kinda Eriky? He has the half mask on one side of his face and is unrequitedly in love with/obsesses over Tsuzuki. Riight... well check out the newly rebuilt Hall of Candles where he lives  Straight from Volume 9...right before a "costume party"  Coincidence? I think not

gnome hunter ok (sorry if this spoiler to anyone who also reads harry potter) in the new harry potter book, harry has to go into a cave and in the cave there was a lake, my reaction: OMG ERIK LIVES HERE!!!!!! and then there was dead people came out of the water or something and it reminded me of POTO in the book, the Watcher or something in the water. and then harry and dumbledore have to go in a boat in the lake, and all i was thinking is that its a gondala and they are going to sing phantom of the opera. Yeah, me too! I started whstling "Angel of Music" during that part. Actually, the same thing happened while I was listening to the tape! I had just finished singing "Flattering child you shall know me/See why in shadow I hide/Look at your face in the mirror/I am there INSIIIIIIIIIIIIDE!" part, and all the dead people came out of the lake. I thought it was funny.

Ksrugi My little brother was watching Duel Masters and I noticed one bad guy was dressed in a long flowing cape and he looked like he was wearing a white mask like that Phantom. I'm just like: gonk

Meh not an real reference, but rather something odd I noticed. I first read PotO about the same time I read this book by my favorite contemporary cult author called "Bloodsucking Fiends" and in the book there was a dog named Lazarus.

I'm getting so much of these lately.
On the show My Dad The Rock Star, there is an episode where Willy gets to play the trombone in his school talent show and is dreading what would happen if his dad found out. And so he has this flash of what would happen and you see his dad wearing a fedora and a cape and the music hits a very ALW PotO chord and his dad starts howling about how good his son is.

And, again! Just now, on the computer I had my TV on and it was Jimmy Neutron or something, and they said 'Phantom!' and I'm like 'wth?!?!' and they're talking about a 'Phantom' of a theme park.
That made my heart like pound for some reason. D:
