Kuoni lifted her head. Would she remember?
She bit her lip nervously. "Yes momma." She said, fighting the tears again. "I- I've changed a bit, but it's me." She continued biting her lip. Would momma be able to believe? Would she be able to remember?

Fiorenza shook her head and kept shaking it. "I.... I ....." She muttered unable to say anything. Deep down in her heart she knew that this was her daughter Kuoni but her mind kept saying it wasn't her. "I don't know." She said laying down and placing her paws over her head.

Kuoni sighed and closed her eyes. "Take your time." She said. "You'll see it soon." She laid down in front of Fiorenza. "I'll be here when you're ready. ....I'm not going to run away anymore."

Fiorenza thought about it but still couldn't believe it.
"It may take a bit of time before she remembers Kuoni." Aphrodite said, "But in the mean time. Someone has something to say to you." She nudged Vipin towards Kuoni.
Vipin was shaking when Aphrodite pushed him towards Kuoni. "I.... I just.... w-wanted to s-say s-s-sorry for what I said when I was younger." He stuttered bowing his head.

Kuoni nodded. "I'm not going to run away anymore." She said again. She turned her head to look questioningly at Aphrodite, her eyes widening right away when Vipin was pushed forward. She flicked her ears back. How long had she wanted to hear this? "We both said things we shouldn't have said." She said slowly. "Thank you for apologizing. And... I'm sorry too."
She giggled roughly. "That wasn't so hard, was it..." She said to herself. "Why couldn't I do it back then?"

Vipin sighed in relief and shrugged. "Probably because we were both stubborn and I got on your nerves." He said, "Thanks.... I forgive you."
Aphrodite nodded and smiled when Kuoni and Vipin both apologized to each other. She then looked over at Fiorenza who was intently watching Kuoni and Vipin.

Kuoni snorted again, the tiniest of smiles starting to show. "Thanks." 'Now if only momma can forgive me too.'

For some reason the exchange between Kuoni and Vipin made something in Fiorenza's mind click. "You.... you really are my baby aren't you?" She asked with a gasp, "My Kuoni! What happened to you?!" With that Fiorenza proceeded to cry and sob and attempt to apologize which didn't work since she was crying so much. She couldn't utter a word and every time she tried and couldn't she cried even more.
Vipin nodded and then backed away when Fiorenza finally realized that Kuoni was Kuoni. He could tell that his grandma was still crazy but at least she recognized Kuoni now.

Kuoni stood quickly when Fiorenza recognized her. "Mom..." She slowly walked over and laid down next to Fiorenza. "Don't, don't do that. It's okay." She nuzzled her head into her mother's neck, tears of both happiness and sadness falling. "I'm the one who should be apologizing. I am apologizing. I'm so sorry for what I did to you."

Fiorenza nuzzled Kuoni and shook her head. "No... no. It's my fault. If I hadn't yelled at you and been so pushy you wouldn't have left." She cried, "It's my fault." She suddenly stopped crying and growled. "Don't you EVER do that to me again! Do you hear me young lady?!"

Kuoni sniffled. "I overreacted. I wouldn't have left if I hadn't done that either. I should have known better." Naturally, she flinched away at being scolded, her tail tucking in. "I do momma. And I won't do that again." She said softly but honestly, fighting hard against the urge to look at the floor or her own paws. "I'm an adult now. I know better ways to deal with an arguement than to run from them, and I can handle those ways."

Fiorenza nodded and then laid down. "I'm tired..." She said starting to fall asleep. All of the days excitement was finally catching up to her.
"Why don't we leave and let your mom get some rest Kuoni." Aphrodite said, "I'm sure she's exhausted after all of this and needs her rest." She moved towards the door and waved at Kuoni and Vipin for them to follow.

Kuoni sighed and licked Fiorenza's cheek, whispering, "I'll go and let you sleep. But I'll be back. I have a few more things to fix, then I'll come back." She stood carefully and followed Aphrodite into the hall. Her eyes stuck to the floor. She was still getting used to the feeling that her mother didn't hate her. "Two down..." She looked vaguely up and out one of the windows. "One to go..." 'Where is he?'

Aphrodite lead the way into the living room. She felt her way around until she found the couch and sat down. "Kuoni...." She said, "I'm not going to be any help while you look for your dad. You should get someone else to help you."
Vipin followed Aphrodite to the living room and sat down. "Yeah you're hopeless in the woods Aphrodite." He said, "If you want Kuoni.... you can see who's here and get help from them. They'll be glad to help you."

Kuoni blinked a few times. Who was talking? Oh, right. She looked back at the floor. "I don't know. Tilly said his trips can last days. Who knows how far out he goes looking. ...If that's what he's really doing." She sat down and sighed. Even if Enigma is out there, how could anyone find him?
Suddenly, her entire body seemed heavy. Her eyes drooped closed. "I can't nap." She complained to herself. "I need to find daddy." She tried to stand, but that only accomplished stretching her out on the floor. "No nap." She complained again. She was only marginally aware of her surroundings, and her mind stopped caring. "Maybe a small one..." She whispered as she fell asleep.
((*shrug* It seemed like the thing to do. She'll wake up again in my next post))
