"Its been in the care of the harpies for awhile now Toki, It was very well maintained so I imagine Lady Ellianthe would be the better persont o ask if such trace evidence existed when she recived the responsiblity of guarding it." Tolly used his fre hand to wave his hand in the direction of the harpy queen who stood in the room.

Harpies....why harpies...why am I doing this again. Because you need employment.... Yami answered happilly in his mind. Your highness....pleases stay out of my mind, it makes it very difficult to think. Yami had to hold in her laughter, she was very bad at these buisness things, she hated how formal and serious they were. It was much easier to get things done when one is relaxed.

Auren stared at the happy couple, knowing that even though he was on the opposite side of the battle lines when this happened, that he was able to keep all of them safe. Toleranth's guards for Yami may have been picked off one by one by Shiro's Wyverns, they never went after Yami. They understood that that was to be at all costs. He even filtered down a spell to send the dragons they killed onward to heaven, with the most sincerest apologies Auren and the Wyverns could muster.
Perhaps she never knew it, but the small caches of food and equipment she found, were plants for her, to make sure she made it to saftey. They were herding her towards Pearle and Houka, all of them desperately hoping that she would make it to somebody who could save her. Then she got turned around, and stumbled into Auren's hands, and that made it all the better. Auren was already loose, and he could take her back to Toleranth.
With a grin hidden by his helmet, he stared at them, before looking inside himself, and seeing the empty gulf. Alhana and Arkayid may be safe... but Alhana could never be a dragon again, and Arkayid was turned into a cold-blooded anti-sonuvabitch machine that could not be changed in his ways.
This tugged in his heart and was undoubtedly reflected in his eyes, and rather then be uplifted by the family reunion... was dragged down into despair.
Despair he had not felt since he... died, knowing that while he made sure the Priestess escape, he could not ensure her future saftey.
All's Fair in Love and War. I guess. Hell, I just wanna find a hole to crawl in and sleep until the end of days.
Auren looked up at Toleranth, and cleared his throat. "I... want to lead the attack on the Citadel. In short, I'm pledging the Wyverns. We'll be First to Enter, Last to Leave. Damn the casulties."

"What attack on the citidel, lets not count the chickens before they hatch Auren, going there now even for a sofening blow would do nothing but give loas target practice. We need the holder of Pandora's box first, then by all means you can have fun tearing through those walls. Again lets stay focused on the point at hand, the holder of pandora's box, and I have plenty of patience if you need some Auren to stop the itch of battle."

Ellianthe wasn't by any means a sentimenalist but the touching reunion of Lord Toleranth and his wife had made her eyes glisten suspiciously. Yami seemed to be a rambucious little thing and Ellianthe greeted her with a warm smile.
She had managed to remain expressionless after Auren's remark, but her eyes were smoldering, and her voice had an unpleasant edge to it. " I am fully aware of the consequences of hesitation Auren. Hesitation has cost me my kingdom, and more importantly the lives of my subjects. Jadira has become a monster, incapable of reason and she must be killed. I take no joy in this revelation, that child has dealt with more sorrow and prejiduce in her few years ruling than I have in my hundreds. I just feel that it is a pity, and a terrible waste..."
"No Toki, the heir to pandora's box is changed every couple of centuries. The last one died ten years before Laos's ressurection. We tended to keep them under close surveillance because weaker guardians were sometimes corrupted by the box. It is aware, and capable of twisting the thoughts of those around it. You, Toleranth, are no amature so I doubt it would attempt to corrupt you. It is why I you were given the task of protecting the box until its true master is revealed. The only traces we have belong to the heirs predeccesors and they would be no use. I can help a little, given a few more months with my seers, we could have probably pieced together a picture of the guardian through our combined efforts. Laos thwarted me though, my seers are under his jurisdiction and there is no time for me to do all the work by myself. I will know her if I see her, and the box will know her as well. It will signal you should you come across her by chance."
(FAITH:I shall try to come up with some clues to lead you to her alright?)

(Faith, I take it you've picked someone.)
Toki seemed less then pleased with this news and sighed, noticing the look in Ellianthe's eyes when she spotted Yami. Your highness, behave yourself. You're a queen, not a...not a CHILD OR A WILD ANIMAL! YOU CAN'T RUN AROUND ACTING LIKE MIMI! Mimi....where....
Mimi was standing near Ellianthe "You're pretty miss." she murmured softly, smiling at her. Toki was glaring daggers at Mimi and tried to ignore her, and her comment. "Miss. Ellianthe from what I understand the guardians tend to have a certain personality trait in them....one that might not always show through right away....couldn't you track the heir down that way?"

Tolly shrugged; "It comes with the territory, but I'm sure with prolonged exposure to it even i would be susceptible. However going on the suggestion Mimi just proposed hopefully this might help. As dragons we assign a symbol to objects and people for references in many things but mostly for inclusion in our magic. Assigning a symbol can say do this;" Tolly held up his hand and the box and key appeared in the palm of his hand. He put the key in his pocket and the box he held onto. We normally let insticnt and first impresion make the symbol based on the object and person requiring a symbol. So this may mean nothing or it may help on where to start looking, so i'm asking for your opinions on this."
Tolly used his free hand to draw a large circle in blue that hung mid air. Inside was a green half ciricle, off to the side a black line made two s turns before terminating at the bottom of the cicle. A bunch of dots in red below the hill, and to the right of the line was music note symbol. "This is the summoning symbol assigned to this box and key based on first instinct of its visible traits and exposed feelings. Like I said it could be nothing, or it could be a clue to help search its owner. The two parts of this i do understand are these two things, The green crescent is a hill, and the note is not what you think, but the symbol of death in a real old dilect of ours that I happen to know. the dots the blue shpere, and the black curving line I don't have answers for. i've not heard back from my archivists yet concerning it yet."

(Yep. Me and Spoof-chan have known who it will be for quite a while now.)
A faint blush adorned her pale cheeks. "Whay thank you miss Mimi, what a charming name, Thats a very good idea. It hadn't even crossed my mind." She strolled over to Toleranth's image, and examined closely. Her eyes widened for a moment, "Well I do know what this means." She traced a finger over the curving black line. "It is an archaic symbol for the black mage tower. Back when it was first created, its master branded this mark into his underlings' flesh. The practice was quite barbaric, and my father had to intervene. I think the continued to do it even after that, but it was kept quiet. I do know that Lady Shavas absolutely forbade it when she ascended to the highest rank. Then, after she died without an heir, her students and other higher ranking tower occupants just wandered off and haven't been seen since then. This seems to indicate that the current guardian is a member of their ranks."
She began to pace as she spoke. " The only person who could possibly be able to locate them after they've gone into hiding is Lady Shavas, and she is quite a few leagues away."
She paused in her tracks, inspiration dancing in her eyes, which suddenly slipped out of focus. She drew a circle in the air, her finger trailing fire. The minute both ends of fre touched, the air in the center flickered, and seemed to solidify. The center of her firey circle swirled with silvery mist, chanting under her breath, Ellianthe placed her hand against the mist and then it cleared. There was an image in its place, the castle of Esperanza. The image zoomed foreward, propelled by Ellianthe's will and settled in a small room.
The room wasn't particularly elegant, whitewashed walls and coral colored tiles. The majority of the chamber was filled with water that steamed slightly. Shavas Yamagata lay facedown on the tile. She was completely unclothed, and seemed paler that usual. Fortunatly she was laying on her stomach and her long crimson hair was draped over anything inappropriate.(Well i had to do it didn't I? I only just remmembered Shavas's current...State. I couldn't very well put a powerful mage on display in her nuddy-pants.) "Shavas, you must wake up." The voice was Ellianthe'es. The sorceress groaned audibly, and proceeded to press her hands over her ears. "Oh really, your acting like a petulant child, and infront of all your friends too. I ralize you've been through alot but this is no time for sleeping. You have a job to do."
"Shove off mum, I'll not be attending lessons today. My head hurts terribly."
Ellianthe stiffled her laughter, "Shavas, this is not your mother. I am Queen Ellianthe of Aelethia and a hereby order you to wake up and dress yourself. There are important matters to discuss."
Shavas glanced up, her face was quite red and her golden eyes were wide. She cursed loudly, and draped a few clouds across Ellianth's image for good measure before dashing across the tile towards the wall, Cursing all the while.
She grabbed one of the folded towels; and a robe, thank the gods. After covering herself she returned to Ellianthe, and the others. "Alright, what is it?"

Tolly made the symbol a bit smaller and sent it to float in front beside Ellianthe out of her way but in sight of Shavas. Tolly didn't move into sight but raised his voice in hopes shvas might hear him speak.
"Again I'm sorry to disturb Shavas, but the symbol beside Lady Ellianthe in your sight is something we have thought to be a clue as to the heir of of Pandora's box. She will give you the rest of the details that we know up to this point. Although it is nice to know your still in the land of the living,we'll cross paths in the future, and i'll save the rest of my words for those days."
Tolly went quiet and noticing some eager looking people in the doorway walked over to speak with them. He kept hsi voice down so as to not disturb the others. "Manna, tell my your team has accomplished its goal." "By far we have accomplished it sir, its ready for a demostration in the main chamber when you have time to see it." "Well I trust the fact you wouldn't be up here if it didn't work to the specifications we needed. How long before it can be deployed to the pass?" "We would half to disassemble it slightly, and with a few dragons we could have it there in two days if we work on it straight through the night."
Tolly smiled; "Well start on it tomorrowmorning fresh, tonight you team gets a double ration of wine on me." "Thank you sir." "Nah thank you, your efforts have furthered our cause, and will deliver a crushing blow to the frontline forces of Loas."
They nodded and left and Tolly returned to the room with a even bigger smile on his face and stood beside Yami. A almost chilish glee was dancing in his eyes."

Shavas listened to Ellianthe's story with rapt attention, her eyes widening gradually. As the Queen wrapped up her tale, Shavas nodded in agreement.
"If this symbol is meant to represent the heir than you are correct. The woman must be of my order, its the only logical explanation. I can call those of my order to my side, but there are many. Some of them don't know the teleportation spell yet, the tower was abondoned before they could complete that part of their training. Those mages will have to find other forms of transportation. If the heir is as young as you say, then it is quite possible that she didn't learn the spell yet. She may arrive to late..."
She massaged a temple and sighed heavily, "I can call them whenever I like, but it would be easier if I had my amulet which I placed on my daughter's neck before I left to face my death. If I don't have that as a focus then I could only summon the closest mages to this castle, and those with the mark... That may not be enough."

"Well how hard would it be to get the amulet back from your daughter Shavas?" Tolly asked it rather carefully so she heard him but he wasn't shouting to make the apparent headache worse that she had. "If it is realitively easy I'll go get it for you."

Auren regarded the image. "If she's in the basement... I can get there and back with a few hops, skips, and a jump. My main worry is that Laos is probably already there, probably stomping all around the place and gnashing their teeth in fury, and it'd be a matter of time before they find her."

She considered their options carefully. Her long nails tapping rhythmically against her pale skin. " I never fou out where they hid her. I doubt she's in the dungeons. Thats the first place I'd look, they've probably set up a trap.
Laos enjoy's using magic as much as possible, so wherever they have her its going to be magically guarded at the very least.... Loas has been alive for eons and is very clever, maybe even wise in his own twisted way, but he's not very imaginative. Usdually its fairly easy to predict his actions, he demon Lord is not partial to change."
Her features were wiped clean of emotion, only the tightness around her lips, and in her deep musical voice hinted at her suffering. "I was a fool to storm in like that. I fell into their trap, if Auren hadn't arrived when he did, I would be lost. There are worse things than death, and unfortunatly that is the one area where my former master excells in creativity.
She shuddered. " There are various ways I can track down my daughter. Magically protected or not. I will have her location within the next few hours."
