Awai's eyes narrowed and she whipped the dagger out of Ryne's hands, inspecting it carefully. She then pointed it at her wound and the cut healed. Turning to Ryne. she asked. "Are you alright?"
Musei noddd at their choice of weapons. He then turned and walked to the edge of the arena, where a large crate, the size of a two-story house, was resting. It was divided into three sectors,each piece laying on top of the other. He leaned against it, then turned to the students, saying,"Think of this as a preliminary test. Inside this crate are three creatures. Chimeras, i guess you could call them. You will each take a single target. There's one for each of you." Reaching up, he unl;ocked the first crate, unleashing a large black panther that appeared nromal at first. However, it shook lghtly and dark leathery bat-like wings fanned out from it's back, and it tail curved over its head to reveal a large stinger. The creature turned its pure white eyes on Rink.
Musei then unhooked the next latch, letting loose another creature. It was cat-like in appearance, its head with the unmistakeable features of a lion. It's front legs ended in large paws and its back legs ended in hooves. It had wings as well, which were large and feathery like a bird's. It's tail ended it a a sharp sickle-like point. The chimera stalked over to stand before Renka, golden eyes glittering.
Musei then went and unlocke the next sector, unleashing the third chimera. Its body was distinctly lupine, its head that of a large white wolf. Black stripes zig-zagged across its back like a tiger. Bright red spikes ran down the ridge of its neck and also stuck out from the backs of its legs. Its tail was a live serpent, blood red with black stripes. Both sets off eyes were onyx black. It walked lightly to stand before Alex, its movement telling of an extreme speed which left no need for wings.
Musei raised an eyebrow. "Completely finish off your opponent before the end of class."

The elf maid looked down at her fingers. A huge red welt spread across all of them.
" What did ye do to the knife? What magic?" She asked, her mismatched eyes wide. Her hand was throbbing in pain...Golden Ryne had never felt such pain before. She had led somewhat of a sheltered life. But the maiden gritted her teeth and tried to bear the stinging, searing, throbbing pain in her hand.

Awai glanced at Ryne's hand and the welt vanished instantly. "It was simple confinment of healing energy. If anything, it should have healed my wound and probably given you some after effects of envigorment." She looked thoughtful for a moment. "It worked fine when I held it."
Rink took his battle stance and faced the panther-like creature. It grolwed at him, fangs bared. Then he charged the creature, which opened its wings and flew upward to dodge the attack. Rink smirked and summoned the winds to support him, following after the agile creature.
The lion chimera roared at Renka, the sound vibrating through the arena. It crouched low, ready to spring.
The wolf chimera eyed Alex, eyes glinting. Its serpent tail waved behind it, hissing at Alex threateningly.

The pain went away. But the memory didn't. Ryne's brow furrowed..
" Something went wrong...With me maybe..." The elf maid sighed...Her eyes reflected sadness and anger. She mad at herself..Showing pain like that...

what happened Ryne? *kuro looked worriedly at her friend*
*Alex took a fighting stance and in a matter of second he appeared behind the chimera. Rasing his sword he slashed at it*

Awai looked at Ryne comfortingly. "It's alright. And there is a possiblity that it wasn't you. I shal inspect the blade later," she told her, walking over to her desk. She opened a drawer and pulled out a samll box with a lock. Power seemed to radiate from the small chest, warm and light, but powerful. Awai took out a key and opened the chest, revealing several small items laying within it. There was a small ring with a large ruby on it, which seemed to have a dark aura about it, and a few other trinkets, such as a braclet and a hair tie, that also had a foreboding aura surrounding them. Awai placed the dagger within the box, then shut the lid, locked it, and put it back in her desk.
The wolf chimera lept upward lightly, its speed unearthly, dodging Alex's blow. At the same time, it's tail darted out to strike at Alex, then withdrew quickly, leaving slashes on his arm.
Musei called out from the sidelines. "Watch out for its tail. I made sure to remove the poisons on its fangs before i let him out, but it can still bite."
The panther chimera launched at Rink, snarling. Rink lashed out with his sword, but the chimera was gone before he could blink,. Though it was slow on the ground, like its fellow lion chimera, when in the air they both had tremendous speed.

*Alex winced when the wolf chimera striked his arms, but ignored the pain. He glared at the chimera and attacked the it again, but this time he increased his speed up.*

The wolf chimera bared its fangs as Alex charged, and its spikes stood up and began to glow. It snarled and flames spewed from its mouth toward Alex.
The panther chimera swiped at Rink with its claws, leaves gouges on his side. Rink winced and felt the blood run down his leg, but struck out at the creature with his sword, using his wind magic to give him an extra boost. The panther swung its tail at his legs, but Rink managed to dodge it, sliding his blade downward to hack off the stinger. The chimera cried in pain, its eyes glaring at Rink with hatred. It flew swiftly upward and the folded in its wings to plummet down toward him, claws outstretched and fangs bared.
The lion chimera charged Renka, bladed tail lashing from side to side behind it.

*Alex dodged out of the way as the flames reached him.* I guess this leaves me no choice. * he jumped up into the air and black wings unfolded from behind him. he slid his palm over the blade so it was covered in blood.* vampiric blood strike! *he striked the chimera on the leg and left a severe wound on it. the blood he had put on the blade made touching it dangerous to anybody who touched it*

The chimera cried out in pain, stumbling before regaing its balance. It favored the injured leg, looking out at Alex with glinting black eyes. The snake on its tail hissed in pain and anger. It lashed from side to side, prepared to defend its injured body.
Rink used his wind magic to rise and meet the oncoming chimera, sword at the ready. They met in a clash of fangs and metal, and when Rink landed on the ground, the chimera's torn body fell next to him.
Musei gave a reluctant nod of approval. "Well done."

*Alex smirked at the damage he made.* time to finish u off! *he moved around in circles around the chimera. soon it looked like there was more than one of him.* multiple blood slayer! *he slashed the chimera along with his copies and when he was done it was covered in cuts*

The elf maid smiled weakly...She struggled to keep her eyes open...She whispered a word in elvish. Almost instantly Ryne felt better. Her Amber and blue eyes flashed. Her strange tattoo began to glow again.
" I want to figure out what happened to me." The Lord's Daughter said, gritting her teeth.

Awai nodded. "It is most likely due to the blade, but if it did have something to do with you, the problem would most likely be caused by something in your blood. It would be wise to go through your lineagas far back as you can. The dagger is a good conductor of healing energy, which naturally makes it a ward to dark energy. It could be picking up on some dark blood in your veins, even if it is very slight. Also, it could be some form of a curse, but thats very unlikely."
The wolf chimera staggered, black blood puddling around its feet. Using the last of its strenght, it charged Alex a final time, the serpent lashing out to slice his ankle, its wolf fangs biting his shoulder. Then it collapsed upon itself, dark eyes fading to stare blankly at the sky.
Rink stood next to Musei and watched, then turned to watch Renka's battle.

*Alex winced when the chimera had bitten him. He walked over to where Rink and Musei where and sat down on the ground to tend to his wound.*

Ryne whispered softly, " My blood...My blood..." The young maiden looked down at her slender, nimble hands. But then she shook her flaming red hair out of her beautiful face.
" What else is a good conductor for healing energy? " She asked, curious...Her eyes flashed with intrest. Golden Ryne wanted to overcome her problem with the magic and her own problem...Healing others...
