Where did the name "Highwind" originate from in the FF series?

Ok I can't wait anymore... now that I've got a really good FF riddle for you all.
My answer, hoping it's correct, you be that the name Highwind first appears from the introduction of Richard(NES) or Gareth(PS1) Highwind in FF2. I don't remember any Highwind in the first FF, but if I'm wrong I'm wrong.

Who am I?lol seems like no one has a clue rolleyes I used to play these riddle games in another forum so Ill give it a try: hmm...at first I thought Vaan but then... ' My daughter the artist' so that cant be right... My guess is Vincent...for these reasons: ' Shrouded in black I hide my past
With a stable arm I fell my enemies near or far.' He's a pretty mysterious guy and the ' stable arm' part might be referring to his arm thingy also the ' far' bit could be referring to him using a gun I never played FFVII so I dont know much about his past or his character but thats my guess sweatdrop
