"Wear whatever you're comfortable with," Guan said, picking his staff off of the ground. "You were declawed as a child right?"

She thought for a moment
"I'm not sure" she said to him as she showed him. her skin was bleeding from where the claws had sliced her own flesh open. She was not used to using them at all.

Guan walked over and examined Ukaia's hands. "Have you ever used them to cut anything?"

Ukaia nodded a bit
"And blocked a sword with them before" she said quietly to him watching him wondering what it was he was thinking of her claws.

"I see," Guan said, taking Ukaia's hand and leading her over to a tree. "Scratch this tree as hard as you can without injuring yourself." he instructed her.

Guan nodded. "Not bad. Your claws will make a fine weapon. So from now on you're to take care of them. Sharpen, trim, and clean them daily and perhaps look into spells to temporarily make them harder than they are. Do you understand?"

"Well if you use them you'll get stuff stuck in them," Guan said, gesturing to a bit of bark stuck in her claws. "I suppose you could get trimming tools from a pet store or something, I don't know having never had claws myself. However, that you have them and that they are naturally strong enough to block a sword as you say you have done is a huge advantage on your part."

"I don't doubt that you did," Guan said. "Now, it's also important for you to use your claws every day, hopefully that'll make it easier to draw them."

"Even if it doesn't hurt it shouldn't be breaking your skin," Guan said. "Yes, leave them out when we practice with them, otherwise you might try to use techniques requiring them without having them out."
