Haha yeah now that you mention it sweatdrop the nose is a tad smaller whee but yeah still my friend is related to Serj hes only met him like twice I think. But I know its fact, I got proof from his mom xd

My stepsister used to go to college with a kid who met Serj and shook his hand... I actually said that if I ever met this kid I'd probably try and lick his hand. Luckily for him we never met.

Washulove victim_of_america That is bullcrap one system of a down isnt even close to being a sell out you dont see them on these tv shows trying to sell their record or doing stuff to get them attention. All their doing is being themselves and the same thing happended to me when I was wearing my SOAD shirt with the elephant and the band when this one dude came up and said they sucked. So I just went off on him saying that his little emo music doesnt stand up to a band like System of a Down. So that kid never said anything again. I saw an advertisement on TV for Mezmerize two years ago, then again for Hypnotize. surprised I don't think I'd use music as a fear device to show how holier I am than thee, but more like, "Hey, you ever stopped to feel to what they're saying?" because listening is not enough, really. I've recently discovered I like P!ATD's lyrics and they're quite clever, and you don't see me at school wearing emo pants every day. I only own one pair! XD But yeah, fear is an inefficient way to make someone a fan, because people have always had a way to overcome fear. Compassion and kindness doesn't sound like a way to cause a psychological problem like fear can do. That's just me, though. I hate people, but I don't want them to hate me, and if you do unto others as they do unto you, they won't be such assholes to you. mrgreen Actually the reason you saw a commercial for System of A Downs mezmerize and hypnotize is that they cant control american recording which wants to sell as many cd's as it can so thats why. twisted

To be fair, you don't know the band personally (do you? O.O), so you can't honestly say thats the reason for the advertising.
We can't push our own beliefs at people under the guise of What System Would Do.
I agree it's a likely choice though.

lol why release music under a major label if there is no advertising whatsoever involved? Of COURSE you want money, and you want people to buy your music, whether it be this "ALMIGHTY OMNISCIENT MUSICAN!" album or a "I'M MAKING MUSIC SO I CAN SOUND LIKE THE EARLY 90'S!" album. You can make music and still enlighten people. Money may not be the main factor, but how're you gonna pay the bills? How are you gonna go to your favorite restaurant? I doubt System has a second job, and they get so much money from advertising, merchandise, concerts, blah...
so yeah.
they advertise because they need food.
and pot.
