Well, with every new threat since the 9-11 Twin Tower bombings, the government has taken more and more preventitive measures to make sure such a tragedy does not happen again. While I understand the need for security, this security is starting to cut into everyone else's rights.
You see, in order to gain more security, something must be taken away. And freedom is being taken away. Many U.S. people right now are fearful, so they mindlessly sign away their freedom for that security. However, when I take a look at so many countries that are desperately fighting and do live in fear, I have to wonder at U.S. fear...

well I respect your opinion but I think that you are overvalueing term freedom. I know that freedom it's inportant to you guys. You have a very inportant statue based on that. A national icon. I know also tha people rights are being cut but I wouldn't call it freedom. but that's just me.

Well, here you see, we sort of view freedom as being free to pursue what we wish. Rights actually infringe on various freedoms. For instance, we have the right of speech, but we may not always speak.
In the end, all of the rights of people here are to protect the freedom of another by taking away some freedom from someone else. The trouble is finding an acceptable balance between protection and freedom.

I guess that happen in a lot of other countrys. Specialy in countrys that are in war in this very secong. They have there freedom at risk.

I don't even know what to say about war right now... Because there is no war IN the US, for the most part it seems like we're not really part of a war. Some of it is just ridiculous.

and I'm planing to go to Argentina for the week with my girlfriend.

I never think of South America as somewhere that gets cold, which is pretty ignorant of me really! That's some journey for you to Argentina! i hope you have a lovely time. We've had nothing but rain here in England, flooding all over the counrty, it's been dreadful! the wettest 'summer' ever i think, and that after the hottest April on record..and people say global warming doesn't exist rolleyes
i need to get a new job, i quit mine after 20 years, and have done nothing since! i have no money now but i'm still reluctant to get out there and look, i spend my days hiding indoors sat online rolleyes
Which is good for the website i mod for but painful for my bank balance, i need to sort myself out sweatdrop
