"'Bully'?" Hao asked, laughing.
"Your brother is right, Hao-kun," Seishirou murmured as he moved towards the pair. "You should be kinder to Asteil-- he's a good boy, after all." Giving Yoh a smile, Seishirou laughed. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Yoh-kun."

Startled by the sudden newcomer, Yoh lost some of his frustration with his brother. He really was quite easy-going after all; anger just didn't stick to him.
"You're the angel of the place?" he asked, taking note of the older man's wings.

"I suppose you could call me that," Seishirou laughed quietly. "I'm glad you've finally managed to make your way over here, Yoh-kun. Perhaps you'll provide a good influence on Hao-kun."
Hao rolled his eyes, laughing a little. He knew Seishirou was only kidding about that. Seishirou prefered Hao as he was-- better for business.

The boy laughed, scratching the back of his head. "I highly doubt I can influence this stubborn bully in any way," Yoh replied with a smile.

Seishirou merely laughed. "Ah, forgive me, Yoh-kun, but I fear I must steal your brother for a bit of work. We'll be back shortly, I'm sure."
Hao frowned ever so slightly. "Tonight? Now?" he asked, blinking.
Seishirou nodded, smiling still... that damnably static smile...

Remus led his mate into the Nest and to his own room, deciding that it would be best for them to speak there. Once inside, he pulled the copy of the book raven had given him off the shelf and sighed softly. "Well... what do you want to know?"

"What happened..." Severus said softly. "Why does everyone hate me... Why did Nykol hurt me like this..."
He tried his best to stay on his feet. He didn't want to touch anything in the room. He'd get his blood on it.

"Sit down, Sev," Remus gently directed the wolf as he flipped through the book to the pages he wanted. "It's... hm. Not everyone hates you, it's more that a good many people are upset at this." With that, he lay the last page of chapter twenty-seven before Severus.

Severus took the book, but didn't sit down. He nervously read the page. Slowly, his eyes grew wide, and he started shaking. He turned the page quickly and paled. He threw the book away from him, shaking his head and clutching fistfuls of his hair. "N-NO!! NO!! I DIDN'T DO IT!!" he screamed, sounding like he was trying to convince himself. "I COULDN'T HAVE!! I HAVEN'T BEEN TO HOGWARTS IN YEARS!! NOT SINCE WE GRADUATED!! I CAN'T HAVE DONE IT!!"

Severus shook his head, clinging onto Remus desperately. "N-No.. It wasn't me.. I.. I... Why do they think it was me?! I would never do that!! I would never hurt Dumbledore!! He-He's done more for me than any adult's ever done!! He was like a father to me -- the one I never had!!"

Remus gave Severus another soft kiss. "This is what the book says. That's why. So calm down, Sev. It's a book-- all realities are different, and in the reality of the book, that's what happened. It's not what happened in this reality, but it's what happened in that one."

Remus petted the wolf for a while, gently soothing him before explaining. "In that reality, Severus Snape is a Death Eater, who swore the Unbreakable Vow to protect Draco Malfoy and kill Albus Dumbledore if Draco could not. That's... about all I know."

Severus shuddered. A Death Eater? What could have possessed him to become a Death Eater? He was terrified of the things He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named did...
