"Well, I'll teach you." Raelen gently took his hand and led him towards the rock, making sure the water wasn't too deep. Climbing up onto the rock, she sat down for a few moments to scan the waters, calculating how shallow the water would be from each side of the rock. Three sides were facing into the water. The right side was far too shallow, but the left would be far too deep to teach him in. So the front of the rock was the spot. The feline moved to the edge, lightly getting down on her right knee, left foot on the ground tucking the left knee to her chest. "This is the first dive I ever learned, besides the pencil dive...which is just standing straight up, and jumping in with your hands perfectly at your sides. We called this the 'watermelon dive' when I was young." Smiling, she motioned for him to sit how she was at the edge of the rock. "You put your arms above your head, one hand over the other. Then you just push off the rock, and make sure your hands hit the water first. It'll bring you into a shallow dive, which you can repeat until you're comfortable enough to move on."

Byakko moved at her very command, watching her with his blue eyes intently. At first he wasn't sure at what she was doing as she stared at the water. At her beckon, he was beside her, mimicking her movements as best as he could while keeping descent for her. He blinked and looked at her curiously. "Could I please see you do it first to get a better idea of how it goes?"

Raelen blinked, before smiling brightly. "You sure can," she replied gently. The feline looked back down towards the water and took in a decent breath. As soon as she had taken in the breath, she pushed off the rock with her feet, leaning her body forwards. The feline's body lightly curved downward so that her hands hit first, sending her into a graceful, shallow glide beneath the water. Popping up, that simple dive had sent her a fair distance from the rock, and she took her time in swimming back, resting her arms lightly against the rock. "Okay...now it's your turn. And I'm already in the water, so I'll follow you the whole way."

Byakko watched intensely. It was truly remarkable the way she was able to move in the waters with such ease. Would he be able to do such as well? Never before had he dived in such a fashion. However, he nodded to her slowly. His eyes showed a slight nervousness as he took the same position that she had. 'Here goes nothing' he thought to himself. Taking a breath as she had done, he did his best to mimic her, and off he was, hands hitting the water first. He dove under the surface but he swam as fast as he could the surface, bursting out and gaspign for breath, treading the waters. "How was that?" He asked trying to not show that he did freak out alittle under the water.

As she had reassured, Raelen was already beside him by the time he had burst out of the water and gasped for breath. She treaded water with ease, and gently reached out to touch his cheek with a small smile on her lips. "You did fine, my dear Byakko..." A small giggle escaped the feline as she shook her head lightly, moving her hand back into the water to help her as she slowly swam back towards the rock. "Especially when in comparison to Jeannot."

Byakko couldn't help but to instantly relax at her touch. He swam back after her towards the rock, coming to hold onto the rock beside her. "That move is not the easiest one to do to say the least. I take it Jeannot had trouble with it?" He would never admit it but he was a little worried he would come up too late for a breath so he could only imagine what the bunny anthro had endured.

"Trouble with it? He flipped out at the last moment and knocked himself out against the rock. He didn't make it into the water," Raelen frowned softly, and shook her head. Every time she thought about it, her eyes filled with concern, despite the fact that he was okay. Gently, she rested her head against Byakko's shoulder for a few moments. "I trust you more around the water. It's not the easiest dive, but the others are much harder...excluding the pencil dive, but that one sends you down pretty far."

Byakko saw the look in her eyes, and so when she rested her head on his shoulder, his arm swopped around to pull her into a partial hug, with his hand squeezing her upper arm lightly, consolingly. He then smiled to her. "Well I am only near this water because of my excellent teacher." He kissed the top of her head. "I am glad you did not teach me the pencil dive. Swimming is nice, but going down that far sounds a little unnerving."

Raelen smiled softly and nuzzled him, gently placing a kiss to his cheek as she blushed softly. "Well, thank you..but it's taken me years to be the teacher I am today when it comes to the water. My sister Erica Marie would never trust me enough to get near the water with me..." The feline pouted at that, before she wiped the pout away to stare up at Byakko. "Although, I hesitate for you to meet Erica Marie. She's not the sweetest, and she has little to no manners. In fact, she would probably make me quite jealous, for her flirting knows no bounds..."

Byakko looked at her blinking a little as his head tilted lightly. He then pulled himself up onto the rock, and without warning, lifted Raelen up out of the water, to sit her on his lap, where he could wrap his arms around her, and rest his head against her chest, his closed. "Raelen, you are the one I asked to dance with and the only one for me. No flirty woman can ever remove you from my eyes or heart. I am yours alone and yours forever." He was far from joking when he mentioned that his kind mated for life.

Raelen blinked when she was lifted out of the warning and set onto his lap without warning. Soon she was gazing at him with gentle eyes, kissing his forehead gently. The feline wrapped one arm loosely around his shoulders, running the other hand through his damp hair as he rested his head against her chest. "I love you, Byakko, and I always will..." She whispered softly to his ear. His words made her feel better, and although she knew he wouldn't leave her for someone else, much less Erica Marie, she still couldn't help but dread him having to meet her sister...

Byakko chuckled and smiled up at her, his blue eyes gazing with adoration. "Well that is good because we have a long life planned ahead together." He then looked up at her curiously. "You speak of your sister so often as of late. Have you recieved notice of her coming?" Last time he remembered her talking of her siblings, Byakko was certain he heard Raelen saying she lived alone and her relationship with her siblings was strained.

Raelen blinked and looked at him, lightly tangling her fingers in his hair, closing her eyes. Oh yes, she was speaking of Erica Marie a lot more often lately. "Yes...Erica Marie sent me a letter, and has unfortunately arrived much sooner than I thought. She...is living in the same home as Jeannot and Astaliare." She sighed softly and leaned lightly against him.

Byakko watched her carefully, feeling her fingers weaving in his lockes. He could study her body language enough to realize that just the idea of her sister being so close drained his love. His one hand reached up, to pet her as he closed his eyes with her. "I see. Well then, what I will do is make sure to keep out of her way until you are ready to introduce me to her, if there is ever such a time. Her mere presence seems to worry you though, even without her being in your home. Has she wronged you in the past?"

Raelen purred softly and curled up against Byakko, feeling safe with him, comforted by his words. She nodded her head lightly before blinking, shaking her head a little bit. "Well, I wouldnt exactly say she wronged me, but there was a man one time, and she got in the way of that. I don't feel bad about it anymore, because if I was with him, I would never have you...but I don't want her to even get an idea over you..."
"After all these years are ya still bitchin' an' whinin' about that stupid guy? Thought I told ya I was never even interested in 'im," The voice came from behind them, up on the rocks. There stood a manecoon and cheetah hybrid, large bushy tail flicking. Her eyes were white, and focused on the pair. A small scowl rested against her lips, brows pressed together. "An' I ain't got no interest in this one either. Looks more like dinner than anythin' else," she teased with a chuckle.
