The dragon laughed as the girl ran away in alarm. "Heheheh, look at her run. Pathetic weakling."
Kana fled across the courtyard and hid behind a tree. In Katsu's opinion, a stupid place to hide. But then again, not much in the way of hiding spaces in a courtyard.
He squinted slightly as he saw a disturbance in the air around the girl... it seemed she had erected a wind barrier of some sort.
Katsu shut his eye and took several deep breaths. He wouldn't get anywhere if he had so little control over the dragon. Slowly he felt the dragon backing off. But he knew it would be back.
"It's okay, you can come back over." Katsutoshi called, looking at his hand. The fireball hadn't done any damage to his skin, but it obviously did to the unfortunate tree. Katsu flopped down onto the grass, being careful as he laid on his back.
He had two large wounds on his shoulder blades, and they were only just beginning to heal.
Noticing that Kana hadn't come out from behind the tree, he smiled. "I'm fine now." he called, slightly louder. "It's safe."

The vampire perosn seemd to be searching for someone, presumably her. Tenza was pleased at this, as she now knew she wasn't wasting her time on a weakling who couldn't even sense through the most basic of invisibility spells. But she still wasn't going to make it easy for him.
Just outside the library, she took off, her leather-like wings flapping unnervingly silently. Working her way over to the west courtyard, by the round-a-bout route, she spotted the person. his eyes, searching. Something was strange about them...maybe they were just extremely cold. That was it. Flaring suddenly, albeit silently, Tenza dropped into the tree this vampire was under, and landed a few feet above his head, just behind him. Hanging her knees over the sturdy branch she was on, once again the invisibility spell came up. Barely rustling the leaves, she hung upside-down behind this mystery, black hair hanging toward the ground.

Damian stood there and leaned up against the tree. A smirk forming over his white lips as he kept his arms crossed against his chest. Turning his head slightly. Looking in the direction of where she, Tenza, was but still unable to see her..Yet he still knew she was there.
"Still using that spell I see? And tell me what exactly is it that you have to hide from me? I do hope your only doing this to get better at your spells and not to try and trick me..."
Damian turned in her direction. Seeming to know exactly where her face was..His eyes staring at hers though he was unable to see them for the moment.
"I don't believe that a woman should ever hide her beauty."

Kana watched him quietly, a frown still upon her face as she stared. Her claws were digging into the tree just slightly as she gripped it nervously. She definitely wasn't one for confrontation, and this whole thing was making her really anxious, not to mention confused.
She looked on as he breathed deeply a few times, her head tilting slightly to one side before her ears perked when he spoke. She caught his words the first time, but didn't move for a moment, just staring uncertainly as he lay down on the grass.
But then he called again and that, combined with the scent of the blood in the air [I'm assuming there's blood. xP] convinced her to go see him.
So she bounded forward several paces until she was fairly close before slowing and inching forward the remaining couple feet, finally stopping almost right by his side, crouched down.
"...are you sure?" she asked, though it was really too late, since she'd already come over so close. The light wind was still circling her though, and she was very tense, ready to spring away if needed.

The girl slowly came out from behind the tree, and then bounded towards Katsu. She stopped a couple of feet away, and then cautiously approached.
"...are you sure?" Kana asked, crouching beside him. She still had the wind barrier up around her, and it was ruffling his hair. Katsu sighed.
"Sorry... it's just..." he began, trying to think of a way to describe to her his current state without it sounding uberly corny. "Well, it's nothing you need to concern yourself with."
He sat up, grimacing slightly as the half-healed wounds on his back shifted. He'd need to put some bandages on them later - though the blood had dried and temporarily sealed the wounds shut, they could easily split open again.
"Thanks for showing me to the courtyard." he said. He wasn't really sure if he wanted her to leave or not. He wanted to tell her about his curse, but if she stayed the dragon might want to try and kill her. It had already taken several lives by the time Katsu got to Mirandal, how long until he struck again?

Kana blinked, ears perking as she waited for an answer, though she was slightly disappointed by the one she recieved. "I think I should," she protested, that uncharacteristic frown still upon her face. "Since you just blew up a tree, and I don't know why."
She blinked and then glanced to him as he sat up, scooting back a little to give him more room. The scent of blood grew a little bit stronger, and her ears drooped slightly. "...are you ok?" Despite her nervousness at the moment, she still couldn't help asking that. "There's a hospital here," she added quietly.
Then she fell silent altogether, nodding her head slightly as he thanked her. But a moment later, the smile she usually wore began to show itself, just a bit. "It was no problem," she said, nodding again.
And then she fell to watching him, slowly dropping down to sit on her knees as she waited to see if he'd provide a real explanation.

Katsu closed his eyes and sighed as Kana mentioned his disintigrating a tree.
She asked if he was okay suddenly, almost like she knew he just split his wounds open again. But of course she knows, she can probably smell the blood. Katsu thought, realizing the obvious.
"I don't need a hospital, no magic or medicine they have could heal the wounds." he said simply. Should I tell her? Katsu wondered, falling silent for a minute and eventually deciding to tell the truth, but not all of it.
"And I didn't blow up the tree. Its... something inside of me. I can't control it, so that's why I wanted you to leave. These wounds..." he stood up and pulled off his black muscle shirt, letting it drop to the ground.
Katsu turned around, revealing the two large, vertical gashes on his back. They ran from just below his neck to about half-way down his spine, and were now bleeding faintly.
"These wounds... they were caused by that something, and so no hospital can heal them. Besides, they won't have healed before they're forced open again. Probably never will." Katsu stood still for a moment, before reaching down to retrieve his shirt. The wounds throbbed painfully for a moment, and subsided.

Kana watched him as patiently as she could, her tail flicking behind her rather quickly. Her drooping ears perked again just a bit as she listened, and twitched lightly when he finally began to reply.
For a moment she said nothing, just thinking to herself during the time he spent tugging off his shirt. Something inside him? She'd dealt with something similiar back at Ria, but she hadn't seen the person again to hear how things turned out.
She frowned slightly at the realization, suddenly hoping he was ok, until Katsu distracted her by speaking again. So she tilted her head back to see, and her eyes widened as soon as she did. The scar across her own back suddenly throbbed, causing her to wince. She knew it wasn't opening though; it was just her imagination causing her to think it was hurting. Though, it always felt pretty real...
"No hospital can?" she blinked, staring at him. "Are you sure? The doctor's here are pretty good." She raised a hand to her mouth, staring at a long black sleeve for a second before speaking again. "Well you should at least cover them, right? With something other than a shirt?" She bit down on her sleeve, intending to tear strips off to create makeshift bandages.

While Katsu was showing Kana his marks, he saw her wince in pain. She shook it off, and he made nothing of it.
"No hospital can?" she asked, adding that she thought the doctors at Mirandal were pretty good. Katsu shook his head, and put his shirt back on.
"No, it's useless. The wounds split open again frequently anyways, so even if they could heal them, they wouldn't stay healed for very long." he replied.
Kana suggested that he cover them with something, but he shrugged. "I'll get some bandages on them later, I'm fine for now." He seemed a bit hungry, though...
Another minor effect of the dragon being sealed in his body is that his appetite, when he gets one, is monstrous. Honestly, he could literally eat a horse and still have room for dessert.
"Don't bother." Katsu said suddenly, noticing Kana biting her sleeve. "Don't waste a perfectly good shirt."
There was something about this girl... what was it?
Katsu adjusted his eyepatch again, making sure it was still firm. "Tell me, Kana." he began. "What brought you to Mirandal?"

Kana paused, in the process of tearing her sleeve, and lookd up at him with the fabric still in her mouth. "...oh, ok," she mumbled, voice slightly muffled, and then dropped her hands to her lap. Though, she did reach behind herself once to rub at her back lightly.
She found herself letting her gaze wander across the courtyard, no longer feeling quite as threatened as before. Her ears weren't flattened back, and the wind that'd been surrounding her had died down completely.
Though, her eyes flicked back towards him when he spoke her name. Honestly, she wasn't used to being called by her real name anymore, since someone had Ria had insisted upon calling her Kitty for the entire time they knew each other.
She pushed the thought away though, and instead bowed her head, thinking to herself. Why had she come here...? "To... further my edjucation?" she began, laughing a little uneasily, her eyes upon the grass now. "But really... I.. was running away again." She fell silent after speaking, distracting herself by twirling a blade of grass around her fingers. Though, her ears were drooping again.

Wrong question. Kana seemed quite uncomfortable on the subject, first joking that it was to further her education, but then saying she was running away again.
"Again?" Katsu asked. What had happened to her last time?
Before Kana could answer, though, Katsu doubled over in pain. His back was searing in pain, and he could feel the dragon stirring again.
"Kill them. Kill them all." the dragon said menacingly.
There was a small ripping noise, and Katsu's hand shot to his back. Something was starting to protrude out of his back, and was pushing out of his shirt.
"I...I've got to go!" Katsu said hurriedly to Kana. He turned and, making sure she didn't get a good glimpse at his back, fled into the school. Hopefully the cramped quarters will make him stop... he hoped.

Kana blinked a couple times, staring at the ground before slowly looking up at him. She opened her mouth, but the words died before even starting as he suddenly doubled over. She leaned towards him instead of away, one hand reaching out uncertainly, but froze in mid air when he reached to his own back.
"E-eh?" she stammered, ears twitching as they clearly heard the ripping sound. "Are you ok...?" But she trailed off, sitting there helplessly as he suddenly dashed off, heading towards the school.
Despite her better judgement, after just a few seconds, Kana pushed herself to her feet and began trailing after him. She went slowly though, and cautiously poked her head around the door before actually entering. She was going to call his name, but bit her lip to keep quiet, thinking better of it.
She wanted to know what was wrong though. She wanted to help, but she had no idea how. Her ears drooped further as she let her eyes dart around, searching for him.

Katsu entered the school and ducked into the nearest empty classroom. He kicked the door closed and jumped up on a desk, crouching down and holding his head.
"Stop... stop!" he muttered. The dragon just laughed in response. His back was positively screaming in pain, as protrusions forced themselves out of his skin. When the dragon began to take over his body, his physical form also altered in some aspects. At current the massive wings were still mostly inside of him, but the tips were poking through his shirt.
"Don't fight it." the dragon laughed, mentally kicking Katsu. There was a sudden noise behind Katsu, and he spun around. On reflex, he flung a fireball at the noise. He only had a second to see the cat meowing in surprise before everything in a five foot radius around it exploded. Once the smoke settled, Katsu could clearly see the hallway outside.
"Damnit, STOP!" he yelled. There was only one way to stop this. Jumping off the desk, Katsu ran headlong at the wall opposite the smouldering hole, and smashed his head into it.
The force of the blow knocked him out cold, and along with it the dragon.

Kana hesitated a few seconds, and then slowly ventured into the building, staring around cautiously. She really had no idea what to do, so she decided to just stay ready for anything. She pulled up the wind barrier around herself again, and it was a good thing too.
Seconds later, a large explosion went off in a nearby classroom. She sprang backwards out of instinct, the wind flaring up to knock away any debris that flew her way. She still covered her face with her arms though, out of habit, as she crouched on the ground for a moment.
And then she slowly pulled her hands away, staring wide eyed at the destruction she could only assume had been caused by Katsu. Kana stared at it in shock for a moment, and then very slowly inched forward, the wind around her blowing her hair out in random directions, and fluttering her clothing so much that she had one hand in place to keep the front from blowing up.
Her ears perked straight and she winced when she heard his sudden shout and she froze, staring in shock as he came into sight, ramming himself head first into a wall. "E-eh?!" she cried and then dashed towards him without a moment's hesitation.
She crouched by his side, reaching out, pausing, and then slowly setting her hand on his shoulder. "A-are you ok?" she stammered, vioce a fearful whisper. He hadn't broken his neck, had he?! She bent down, holding her hand in front of his mouth to feel for breath.

Even though he was unconcious, Katsu's mind was still at work. And so was the dragon's. These mind-battles with the dragon were torture, but they were better than inadvertantly slaughtering innocent people.
"You're lucky, you b*****d." the dragon said bitterly. "I wouldn't let you kill anyone. Not any more." Katsu replied. "Oh, growing fond of that girl? She's nothing but a damned halfbreed!" "I don't give a damn about the girl! But it's my body, and I won't let you use it!" Katsu spat back. The dragon laughed menacingly. "You don't have a choice! I'm more powerful than you'll ever be, you filthy human. I do what I please!"
Just as Katsu was about to reply, he awoke. The first thing he saw was red, as blood was seeping out of the wound on his forehead into his eye.
He blinked several times, and looked around. He jerked sideways when he saw Kana's face right in front of his. "Holy sh-" he began to exclaim. His profanity was cut short when the pain hit him full-force. "Gah!" he yelled, clutching one hand to his forehead. His back hurt as well, but his forhead more.
Katsu supposed more blood was probably pouring out of the massive wounds in his back - where the wings had now receded - than from the wound on his forhead. Blood had spattered his normally silver hair, and his clothing was torn - even more so than usual.
"Kana, what the hell?" he asked. "You could have gotten yourself killed!" he added, nearing a yell.
