((Dun dun dun! TIME WARP! There have been too few posts in the last week, and yes I know I'm quilty as well, but we need to keep moving!))

As the night wore on many of the crew and passengers eventually settled into their rooms. Only the night watches and those plagued by insomnia and haunted by the events of the evening roamed the ship's dim corridors and deck. The Seraphim sailed swiftly in the night, catching the beams of the moon that made it's white hull glow in the darkness. It was in the early hours before the sun rose that The Seraphim approached her next stop. The great harbor of Port Rekitose welcomed the white ship as dawn lit up the sky.

The crew woke to the sound of sea gulls and the morning bustle of the market. A huge square spread out by the sea side, with the smells of fresh baking mixed with the strong scents of spices and herbs. They would stop for just a couple of hours to pick up a few more crew members, especially to make up for the many deckhands they inevitable lost due to the haunting experience the night before. All aboard the ship were told they could wander the market and buy whatever they wished, while the ship was loaded with more supplies. Vegetables, fruits, fresh water and many essentials would be delivered for them.

All are encouraged to enjoy the solid ground beneath their feet - the last they would know for quite some time. A bell will sound in approximately two hours, and all crew members must return to the ship once more. Then we will continue on our voyage to Peregre. Have fun! wink

Lila yawned. They had come ashore, to one of the greatest ports, Rekitose. She smiled. "It's been a while. I should stock up on some of those scrolls I've been saving up for, maybe buy a few dresses," were some of the thoughts that ran through her head.

She clamy walked ashore. There were some sailors wwho were piling off with all of their belonings. "The fake haunting must've scared them off, " she murmured to herself. Taking a stachel of coins, she went off to the market.

Before she entered the market, she found a cozy store where they were many a scrolls and books. Lila started to search through the books for anything interesting.

A seagull's gusty cry met her ears as she walked down the wide wooden gangplank. Funny that only a day ago they had just set off from Port Vane. It seemed so much longer than that. Rhiannon had put on her light armor again, with a long brown coat over top. It was a cool day, and she felt invigorated standing there on the edge of the sea. A couple hours in town would do the crew good, let them shake off the fear of the last day. Still, she could see the guarded anxiety in the eyes of many deckhands. Some of them would not come back on board. A loss they would have to sustain with dignity and confidence.

The real reason Rhi was happy to be in port was a girl named Nerissa. They had been longtime friends, but the two of them had been parted a couple months ago. Rhiannon's father had wanted a guard to accompany her on the voyage - unable to let her go without protection - and gave in to her request to have Nerissa come along. She was supposed to meet the ship this morning, and Rhi waited in barely contained anxiety near The Seraphim. She should be here soon...

Tanyeera walked on to land in her human form, still unfortunately bouncing away. She started feeling just a touch uneasy with all the humans staring at her because of her peculiar gait. In her homeland, the humans there knew that dragons couldn't help walking that way in human form and barely even spared them a second glance. Of course it was different here but it still made her feel uneasy. She returned to ship after only a short walk around the place. Well, so long as she was here, she figured she might as well catch up on sleep.

Amir awoke to the sunrise, swallowed his disappointment of the lost message, and rolled out of his hammock, taking a look around him. The port of Rekitose beckoned, and Amir eagerly accepted its call. He'd do some last minute errands, and with this in mind, he strode confidently off the Seraphim and into the market. He sniffed eagerly, taking in all that he could. Fishing into his bag, Amir pulled out some coins and trinkets for bartering, and then made his way into the almost seedy part of town. He had several sources in Rekitose, and a few of them required constant upkeep.
Amir walked until he came to a red-painted door, then knocked three times intently. A groan came from behind it, and a muffled "We're closed 'till dark!" Amir grinned and knocked again. This time, the groan was louder, and there was the sound of rustling from within. The door flew open and a mass of red hair emerged.
"I told you, we're closed until-- Amir!" She looked up smiled widely, obviously exhausted. "Come in, let me make you some tea."
Amir returned her smile, then entered the trashy room. "I don't have much time, but I need to know what you've learned."
The woman, Rose, gave Amir a seductive look. "And," Amir continued, rolling his eyes, "I definitely don't have time for that."
Rose sighed and plopped down onto a large cushion, keeping her robe close to her. "What do you want to know?"

Wakening to the sounds of the port, he realized that he was at the port. He shot upright, smacking his head on the roof of a little nook he found amongst the boxes. Rubbing his head as he crawled out. "I dinna ken why I slept in such a small space." He mumbled to himself. He sighed heavily as he made his way unto land. He was planning on visiting a distant relative of his in the market. He entered a small shop that sold various items. "Seamus! Ye dinna ken how good it feels to have ye here ye clot-heid." Yelled the owner, startling a couple of customers. "Clot-heid! Ye dinna need to call me names ye ken. I was just aboot to finish the swords when I was called away. I though' da' was gonna finish them for me ye ken." He said defensively. "Family business ye ken." He finished. "Ye ken, I heard one of them sailors saying that the Seraphim is haunted. Ye dinna ken what it was, would ye?" His cousin asked. "Only the writing ye ken. The voices was jst good luck on my part." He answered. "Aye, is there anythin' ye want me to do to help?" His cousin asked. "Aye, spread a rumour among the Seraphim sailors that the voyage to Peregre is said to be cursed. I ken that ye can do tha'." His cousin nodded after he was finished talking. "Aye, I'll do tha' for ye. Is there any wares that I can get for ye?" His cousin asked. "Aye, some weapons for close-quartered combat. I dinna want to be caught with my pants down ye ken, and I was only able to get my daggers before I had to leave." His cousin nodded while he was talking, already heading towards where the weapons were kept. "Aye, I have those. But ye better bring them back! And right quick too. Ye ken that Jenny is due in a couple of months and I want ye to be there along with the rest of the family." His cousin said. "Aye, I'll do my best to get back, right quick, then." He said.

"Land ho!" Rosette exclaimed happily as they departed from the ship. Chrono walked a few steps behind her, a partially empty bag slung over his back. "You know the drill, fist we get the essentials, then we get some booze!"

"Rosette, do you really think we need to get any of that?" Chrono asked reproachfully. She was always forceful when she was drunk.

"Pwease?" Rosette begged, her eyes wide like a puupy's. Chrono sighed, as if that could really change his opinion. He may have been the one who kept track of the money, but she earned the bulk of it. It wasn't his place to say where it went to; most of the time.

"Fine, fine... But why don't we buy some things for us to wear? I have enough for a while, bu you have barely a thing other than that and maybe one other set of clothes."

"What, you want me to get something pretty for you to see me in? Oh, sneaky, sneaky aren't you Chrono...?" Rosette teased, poking him in the forehead with her index finger. Chrono blushed avidly.

"I-I didn't mean it like that.... You just start to smell after a while..." He said frankly. He had barely a secpnd to catch her reaction before Rosette snatched his bag away and whacked him over the head with it.

"Why I never!" She yelled angrily as she threw his bag back at him a stomped off. How dare he say such things! It was so insulting to her after all she'd done for everyone?!

It wasn't until Rosette was well out of the ship that she realized some things: first off, she hadn't been to this port in a LONG time, thus she had noidea where she was now, and Chrono had all the money, something else she had no way of finding at the moment.

"Crap...."

Nerissa brushed her pendant out of habit, used to the feeling of tingling energy that doing so caused. She put a slender hand to shade her eyes from the sun, and watched the graceful white ship enter the harbor with a mixture of apprehension and joy.
Nerissa hadn't been surprised to find herself missing Rhiannon, though she had been warned many times about forming attachments. She smiled at the thought of meeting her friend again, especially after a day and night aboard a ship full of doubtlessly rowdy men.
Her feet itching to move, Nerissa walked gracefully to the edge of the market, her belongings securely packed away. She resisted the urge to run up to the side of the Seraphim, for that was the name of the mighty ship, and start yelling greetings to her longtime friend.
Anxious, she looked around, unconcerned for her own welfare and eager to see Rhiannon.

[Wee, I love this RP. XD]

Luft glided slowly behind the ship's sails, giving an announcing screech when the Seraphim dropped anchor into the harbor. Some sailors walked off of the ship to remain off, others simply wanted to explore around the town and some humans were more than likely to go gamble. The griffin did not know what she should do. Gryphons are quite at home in the air, so the land did not excite her so much. Then again nor does the sea. Observing many crewmembers going off board though, something flared within her mind.
They're going off for a short break. That's just fine, so it is. Who's going to be watching over the ship though? What if some daring bandit tries to hop aboard, or steal, or...or something else.
Gray feathers prickled upwards at the thought. Nothing drastic would happen with a Himmel on the watch of any ship, or at least nothing was allowed to happen. Luft trills as she keeps her vast wings open and glides down to an open deck on the ship. Now five feet above the astonishingly white wood, the female griffin arches her wings towards her body to float down softly, her talons open widely until the padded middle of each foot lands on the deck. Having a successful landing, wings relax to the sides of her stormy body and Luft remains on the ship. Head up, eyes wide open, body frozen and ear tufts erected. It was clear that no suspicious looking characters would be able to come aboard. Out of the corner of her eye, the griffin can see a human, possibly female, running along the ship's length. She decides to wait and see if this is any trouble, or merely a very excited human.

"Are you sure you don't want to tag along, Gesten?" Hans looks at the lizard man whom is fiddling with the luggage and stitching some cloth.
"It would be fun, my family here has never been around a real hertasi before." Peter smiles, he has two cousins and an aunt living near Port Rekitose.
The hertasi chuckles, it resonates with a lingering hiss as is a hertasi trait. He sets down his torn sleeve and threaded needle before answering the two men.
"No, I wish to fix this up without any waves to buck me around. I'm nearly done. Besides, I had a few plans for this Port."
Roger gets up from his bed, having been wakened up from a nap. He yawns and stretches, scratching at his bum. "Well then, we're off. Don't forget to be back within two hours, Gesten."
The three human men walked out of the shared room and up to the decks where they uneasily stepped around the Gryphon Sentry. Gesten slurps his long tongue over his face, looking back down to finish his work. A few days ago he had yanked out a sleeping Luft's tail-feather. She had not taken kindly to that and so had nipped at his shirt. Not that the griffin would ever attack him, she just knew that a torn sleeve would drive him insane on cold days.

Mylene Haliey Quspa stood on the dock staring at the grand ship. She took a deep breath unable to believe her luck at being here. She wouldn't dare go any closer at the moment. Her mind just couldn't comprehend the fact that she could. She was still in shock that she was even here.

Her father stood behind her glowering at the ship.
"You want to go on that!" He said with disdain in his voice. She almost forgot he was here she really had. She wished she could make him leave now but then he had to be there a lot of his money was going with her. Money he could possible have spared before. "How will you ever cook when it moves like it does? And ships they are dirty full of deaeses! They will all blame it on your cookin." She took in a breath. How could she possible be related to this man who hate ships so much, hated the sea so much.

"Father," May said her voice clear and loud, "I'm going on this ship, we've been through this. Wiether I have money to surivie or not I'm going on this ship."

"Waste of time, Waste of money!" He shouted at me still glowering at ship. "Always like your mother, little May. Got my skills in cooking but your mother's passion for the sea...pitty pitty pitty." May sighed but caught the small coin bag her father tossed to her.

When ever May had wanted to do something her father had convinced her of not doing it by pulling the mother card. May's mother had loved her father and his cooking but she had loved the sea more and had ran off with some sailor with a fast tounge. Her father always complained about being heart broken because she left. May had just wondered why she hadn't taken her baby girl with her. She always cloncluded that there had been more to the story than she had been told.

"Thank you father." She said giving him a small kiss on the check and clutching the bag close.

"Just be careful little May."
May smilled and nodded. She was going! She had money! She was finally happy!

Her father was a famous cook in the port and he's resturant was very expensive but well worth the money. May had worked there since she'd turned 12. At first she'd just been a waitress than she'd moved on to helping her father in the kitchen. She loved to cook and she was great at it. Her father always talked of her taking over the resturant when she grew up and he was old. Always talked about how she would bring new business when he retired. He had never paid attention to her yearning to learn magic and explore the sea. Nope, he was a respectable land lobber just like almost all his customers. Expect her mom, her mom had been a rif-raf sailors daughter stoping in on port for a meal. At least that's how she had always pictured her mother. Slight poor looking for someone to love her and what she stood for. Her father had done his best to do that but he couldn't give up his love for cooking just as she couldn't give up her love for the sea.

She laughed. She was certainly their daughter. She didn't want to board the ship yet. She knew she still had time, loads of time. Yet she itched to touch the railing off the boat and step aborad. It was to be the only thing she would see for weeks.

Boy was a bueaty! The Seraphim was the pretty gem in the box to May. She could believe it, that she could board this boat.

May stared at the piece of paper one more time. Her pravite invitation. She took a deep breath and walked up the gangplank onto the boat. The air lifted her head a little and she felt some bond that attached herself deep into the soil break. She was on a boat!

(( Now it's done sorry it took so long...and sorry it got a little ramboly))
PostPosted: Wed Nov 22, 2006 5:12 pm

((GAH! Sorry I haven't been around much! I'm trying...))

What could be taking her so long? She was anxious to see Nerissa, even more so now that she was standing here waiting. The marker, of course! She set her feet towards the noise and the bustle, thankful for once for her height. Craning her neck, she was able to see over most of the people. Surely she was here somewhere? She sighed, and stopped, glancing about. Then, with a sudden gasp, she rushed forward and sifted through the crowd. There she was!

Rhiannon burst from the crowd and had Nerissa enveloped in a hug before she even said hello. Then, trying to act proper and contain her excitement, she stepped back - the huge grin on her face was impossible to remove.

"Nerissa! I feel like it's been years, so much has happened since we last saw each other!" she gushed, the yells and shouts of the harbor only heightening her excitement. "My father has been sending everywhere - on so many ships with so many different people. Apparently the political world doesn't really like the idea of female officials on board. Father had to pull more than a few strings to get me on the Seraphim."

Her smile waned, but the light in her eyes was still bright. "I'm glad you'll be with me for the rest of it, Iss. There are other women on board, but they all look at me like I'm diseased."

Nerissa laughed and returned the embrace.
"Diseased?" Nerissa frowned slightly, and felt Rhiannons forehead. "No, I think you are in order, but I could be mistaken." She smiled and hugged her friend again.
"How goes the turmoil in the world of paper and signatures? I assume they are made uneasy because they envy your youth." She leaned in to whisper conspiratively, "You're younger than any of their wives, Rhi," and then cackled at the look on her freinds face.
"Come! We have to indulge ourselfves before I am forced to straighten out this crew." Nerissa grabbed Rhi's hand and, like they were little girls again, dragged her to one of the nearer food stalls.

Amir left Rose's workplace with another small map tucked in his elbow and a slight grin on his face. Satisfied with the way things were going to continue on the mainland, Amir whistled as he made his way back to the Seraphim. As soon as you get back on that ship, Amir, you have to let all this go. You set foot back on that ship, and you put this political mess behind you... Until that new world is imprisoned...
Amir stopped whistling and looked gravely at the gleaming white ship. Such a beautiful thing, worth more than he could ever hope to accumulate, and as much as Amir wanted to explore and investigate, he dreaded the thought of the subjugation of a whole new continent of people. We don't know that's what's going to happen... But the lingering feeling of foreboding wouldn't be shaken off.
Amir sighed and forced his mind back to the maps in his bag, his life's other work. The humanitarian would have to take backseat to the treasure hunter, for now at least, and what a treasure awaited in Peregre...

((Hey there, just thought I should let everyone know that unfortunately, I won't be able to roleplay till 28th December when I'm coming back from this overseas trip I'm getting dragged on today. I don't think it'll inconvenience anyone much, just say that Tanyeera is still asleep ok? Well, bye for now and I hope by the time I'm back the party will have left the port.))
