that's one crappy team to have but it's smart to let Cloud get all the exp and the characters you hate are dead.
I used that always when i wanted only one character to lvl up

All the charecters, save cloud, are equal the only difrences are classes like wepon and sepcial they use and matteria to be loaded down with so in other words it just matter you have them all equiped to there best and some are better loaded with materia and others without. but my personal favorite is Cloud (soilder) with very little matteria, best red materia and mastered bolt and ice is good on him.
Cid(dragoon)medium matteria doesnt matter what kind
vincient, (beast/gunner) loaded with materia or not loaded it really doesnt matter

I change it every time I start over, but I would have to say my favorite team so far would be Cloud, RedXIII, and Vincent. Have Cloud inflicted with fury. Put Cloud and Vincent on lvl 4 LBs and have Red cast haste on allies and slow on enimies and basically have Red for support while the others attack. It works surprising well due to Red's high natural speed, espescially if you equip him with a Chocobo feather.

I usually use Cloud, Nanaki, and Yuffie...I don't know why...they just became my favorites as the story continued....I like the other ones...except for cat saith..or whoever you spell it...im not sure...i just got use to using them the most. biggrin

My fav team is the one I'm currently using.
Cloud Vincent and Red. That way i have at least one long range fighter.
