Clutching her sides in laughter Riana managed to spurt out, "I....was trying to....Hahaha....tell you he was in the...tub!" The stupid girl had run off to see him before half her words were out of her mouth. Getting controll of the laughter for a moment she was just about stable when Blaise asked after her barging in habit and brought to mind her last visit to Tyr's house which brought the laughter all over again. She and Tyr had liked each other for a while after being freinds and sparring partners for a long time. "Actually Blaise, lots of fun things have happened thanks to my delightful charm!"

Leaving the woman guessing she turned to Rossette with a halfsmile. "You've got no right for blaming Blaise, its not her fault you couldn't wait to see your love...r....erm....Chrono. However based on that splash I heard," she raised her voice and shouted, "HE HAS NOT BEEN IN HIS BATH!" Still shouting she called out, "If you don't want me to barge in there you had best stay in that tub and RELAX!" Lowering her voice again she asked pleasently, "Now, hows about some tea?"

"He's not my lover!" Rosette yelled angrily, his face brimming with more red, if that was possible at this point.

"...A-Ah... no thanks, no thanks! I'm fine! Really! I was about to get in, and she sort of... s-surprised me. I... er... fell in."Chrono said in a panicy voice. The last thing he wanted was another person to come in while he was... not very decent.

"Okay, he's here, he's alive, and obviously doing fine on his own. Can we go?" Rosette asked Blaise.

He gently smirked as Riana retreated back down the stairs, now left with plenty of goodies of jin-water, ointments, and a promised porridge to look forward to. Yes, quite an experience. And whilst his mind was still in slight stupor, he was able to pick up a few words of the conversation downstairs before turning to the washroom. "Infatuation" and "beating him an inch of his life" definately stuck out and he quietly grumbled. Was the woman he beheld last evening a devil-amazon, or what? He was not naive enough to think that they were speaking of someone else...he was used to village gossip. Shrugging it off for now, Tax went to Khnui's kitchen to find the handsome plate of porridge awaiting and scooped it up in a careful move. His host had mentioned to bring it near the tub to heat it, but could the water really still be warm? Indeed! The steam rising from it was obvious and he contently set his temporary possessions around the washroom before closing the door. Off with the pants then, they were useless. Now prepared to absorb a warm water's embrace, he eased his way into the tub and sank his head blissfully beneath in total submergeance. Not to disrespect the previous evening's cleansing rain, but such tender hold this water shared was far greater. He seemed not to breathe like he had drowned for a few minutes, but was in actuality just relaxing. He had deeper ways than most normal people. Which he would probably be able to show sooner or later...if they thought of having him join them, they would need an example of his skills- wouldn't they? But no. No thoughts for the moment. Afterall, in such the uncertain world they'd come to live in, Tax had learned to appreciate a good thing fully when it came. And a warm bath such as this was a finer luxury to him than the cavair of the King.

“Yes, yes,” Blaise smiled, “We may leave. When Chrono is done just send him over to the bunk if he would like to come. He’ll probably get there after we just start so he can sit and listen to what Rosette will be learning. While he’s with us I’ll explain to him the, ah, existence of our being, if you will.”

He quickly finished off sharpening the swords. He went upstairs to his room to quickly pack. He soon had everything ready and his sword belted on. Deciding to check out the training bunker before he left. He might as well get some personal training down before leaving while he was at the training bunker. Thinking on how long he could train before he had to leave. He left for one or two days every year at this time and anyone who knew him knows that he leaves at this time of year although they didn't know why.

"He'll probably want to look around here first. Get the feel of things. He's always been pretty cautious. He doesn't like being out of familiar places." Rosette said, twisting a piece of hair around her finger absentmindedly. "So... what are we gonna do first?"

Blaise gave Rosette an impish smile.

“You’ll see.” She said, “But, Chrono ought to get used to the forest in no time, there’s not much to it. This is the kind of place where everybody knows everybody, though our population is nothing short of large. Everyone’s good friends. I guess you can say we’re all a family, more or less, with a little competition. Let’s get going. I’ll see you around Riana.”

Blaise waved a goodbye and stepped out of the house waiting for Rosette to follow.

Rosette stepp out after Blaise, running a hand through her hair before stuffing them in her pockets.

"You know, this is probably the first time in a long time, I've gone outside without having to look over my shoulder constantly... I think it." She said with a small sile, as if the recent incident with Chrono being.... That incident seemed to have left her mind as if swept away by the wind.

"You guys live a great life. Even with the threats that come with it, you live like royalty in my eyes..."

Blaise frowned a bit as she walked, listening to what Rosette was saying. Yes, compared to how others live, the Fugitive Foresters did live like royalty. But, yet, they were far short. They were not like the cruel, mindless brutes the Monarchy had for guards and it was difficult for them to see so much death. Most of the Forester Superiors or those on the Task Force had been hardened so much that to them it didn’t even matter who they saw die anymore, it was just common routine. Blaise was not one of those people.

“Yes,” Blaise said absentmindedly with a glazed look in her eye as they approached the training bunk, “Royalty.”

A sudden painful memory hit Blaise like a blow to the gut. She stopped abruptly and closed her eyes trying to rid her sight of her parent’s dead corpses. She felt as if she were actually back at that day. It felt so real. She could see her little sister crying and in her memory she turned the little girl away and hid her from the guards.

“No lass! Stop crying! They’ll take you too, I can’t lose you too! Please stop crying!” Blaise shouted. She suddenly snapped back to the present realizing that she had actually just said that out loud. She felt something hovering by her hand and looked down to see that she had unintentionally lifted a small piece of the earth and was controlling it with her powers. She let it drop and turned away from Rosette, fearful of her reaction to her small, uncommon episode.

“I’m sorry.” Blaise said, paling from the horrid memory, “I. . .I am-uh. . .I. . .we. . ."

Blaise fell at a loss for words and just stood with her back facing Rosette. She cringed and stiffened as she tried to hold back tears. She was able to do so but she did not feel well because of the gruesome sights in her memory.

Abruptly, Tax's eyes flashed open under the blanket of water and in a upward move he lifted his head and chest and broke the surface. Liquid dripped steadily from his hair as he pressed two fingers to his heart and felt a heightened beat to accompany his sudden shallow breath. What was that feeling just now? He felt as if he had somehow tapped into pain...something strong enough to sting his heart for at least a moment. Odd, but soon subsided as his muscles began to relax around him again. Perhaps...it was unwise to recline underwater as he did for such length? No. ...But, maybe? Looking over the side of the edge for a distraction, he noted the jin-water and had a swig- just enough clear his thoughts! Then seeing the colorful salves...when had Riana mentioned to use them? Unsure, Tax just reached for the most alluring one, opened it, and began to apply as he still lay in water. For his wrists, and parts of his back that he could reach, it was a soothing rush that also smelled pleasant. How fortunate, as he decided to rub a bit over the area of his heart just in case. It was then that he heard shuffling outside the door, and activity in a room that sounded like packing. Khnui might have been preparing to go somewhere. Thinking about it, he might have heard his host mention to the other Forester that he would need her to 'find somewhere for Tax to stay for a couple of days'. If that were the case, he made it a point to quickly finish up his business because to linger in a house when the owner was away was considered rude. As he had been taught, anyway.

"...?"For once, Rosette didn't immediately blurt out something to Blaise's actions. In fact, she hadn't even noticed the piece of earth she moved since her eyes were practically glue to back of Blaise's head.

"I'm sorry... I can be a real a** when I don't think about hat I'm saying." Rosette said, stepping beside her and resting a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"If lost a lot of stuff in my life too... and I keep this goofy and care-free disposition to ot worry everyone. Besides, be dark and depressed about what's already happened will not change it."

Rosette paused before smacking herself in the forehead.

"Dammit! There I go again! Did I make that worse? I didn't mean it!"

Blaise shook her head, her mouth a grim slash.

“I never speak of this.” She said quietly, “The only other person that knows is Kaden…and now you. It is something we call sightless eyes, many here have it. Memories come back often in the most brutal way and they become so realistic to our senses. I don’t get it nearly as often as others but there is that occasion when suddenly a word I have heard hundreds of times decides to trigger a memory. It is more common among those who have been rescued at a younger age, like Kaden and I. Kaden gets it less often than I do, being rescued at age three and not remembering muc, but on occasion… It’s just a difficult thing to deal with. Yes, we remember our past almost on a daily bases but when that one memory that we can’t stand comes…it’s just so hard. You can’t control yourself and it is like you are reliving the memory, as I was when I was shouting.”

Blaise paused and took in a shuddering breath, shaking the visions out of her head. She turned away from Rosette coldly and walked into the bunker, not meaning to be so emotionally brutal to her.

“Come… we should get started.”

"So... it's triggered randomly?" Rosette asked curiously as she jogged to catch up with Blaise. "Er... is it normal to dream about it? ...Like... all the time? That is normal, right? "
PostPosted: Sat Sep 02, 2006 12:55 pm

“Yes.” Blaise said coldly, not wanting to talk about it anymore. Everyone says that it’s healthy to talk about it, that it relieves emotions, but despite what many think it doesn’t make you feel better. It seems as if it only creates more emotions, that’s what people don’t understand.

“I have nightmares about my past life commonly.” Blaise said, “It is not abnormal… just difficult.”

"Oh, good..." Rosette sighed. "I dream about what happened my last night at him old home everynight. I'm glad there's nothing else wrong with me."

She curled her fingers together and stretched them above her head.

"The only comfort I can take in having those nightmares is that Chrono shows up in the end. He's kept me sane."
