It was already dawn.
We're here.
Gwendolyn alighted down on a bank at the mouth of a river.
From here we must walk. Just follow to the end of the river.
The area was thickly wooded. Although it was light outside, it seemed as if it were night. It was a dark and gloomy place. A few people had come out to see what was walking across their territory but they lurked in the shadows. Gwendolyn never saw any of their faces. By nightfall she had reached the end of the river. There was a ladder leading up into a shabby house.
Up there.
They climbed the stairs and went inside. It seemed there was no one home. Suddenly, there was movement. A woman with dark skin and dreads looked up from the runes she was studying. She wore a ragged dress and when she smiled she showed black teeth.
Tia Dalma...
Tia Dalma stood up walked looking at a spot next to Gwendolyn though no one was there.
Mad Mary Rackham, not even death can stop you, eh?
Tia Dalma was not speaking to Gwendolyn nor was there anyone else in the room. Gwendolyn squinted looking hard at where Tia Dalma looked. All of a sudden she could see the faint outline of her sister. Gwendolyn saw Mary open her mouth to speak
It's not me it's her. This is my sister, Gwendolyn. She has powers, magic powers, special magic powers. But she doesn't know how to use them very well. You will train her, right?
But of course I will train her.
Mary nodded and then disappeared... forever. And from there I cannot tell you the story of Gwendolyn's Training. Human eyes are unworthy to read this tale. But I will tell you that from that day on Gwendolyn became stronger and stronger and it had been a few years since she made an appearance in public again. Of course she worried about Kibo, but for now she had more important things to do.

Kibo stares out to sea, still holding the wheel. He decided to sail back to Tortuga, having long since giving up his plans for revenge. After seeing the pain on the faces of the women on the island, he couldn't bear to make anybody else feel that pain so soon. Kibo chose to try and get some new crew members, to make up for those who he had lost. He heaves a great sigh as he brings the boat to rest, and rows to shore.

The faint figure of girl no older than Kibo, in fact a bit younger, appeared next to Kibo who stood at the wheel. He didn't seem to notice her so she spoke.

Kibo doesn't notice. His mind was elsewhere, as it had been for a while. He had barely spoken a word since the ship left the island, and today as no different.

Mary rolled her eyes up at the sky and swung her arm at his head. Since she was only a ghost it only went through. But, as you know, when a ghost goes through you you feel cold; as if a bucket of ice cold water were dumped on you. Kibo jumped (i dont blame him).
Now are you paying attention?

Kibo continues staring towards Tortuga. However, he begins to speak.
Kibo: I knew ye were there. Who are ye, and why are ye here? Do ye want to be properly tied to something? That little almost-invisible thing ye have going on won't help ye at all.

I'm not exactly invisible. But I thought you would've recognized me if ye bothered to look. I'm Gwendolyn's twin sister, Mad Mary Rackham.

I came here to tell you not to worry about, Lyn. She's perfectly fine where she is now. And you shouldn't underestimate her. Becuase of her powers her life is short. And even I had to pay the price for all the my sins. I decided to help my sister to stop me from going to hell. But after this I can never return to earth again. But I couldn't let her see you. The worse would have happened if she did. Sorry but don't take it personal. You're a good man.
Mary then stepped back and threw her head back so she could look at the sky. Then there was a blinding flash of light and she was gone her job on earth done. She would now live the paradise that awaited her in heaven.

Kibo didn't even look. He continued paddling, indifferent to almost everything since they left the island. He pulled the boat ashore on Tortuga, and jumped out of the boat, putting on fake enthusiasm. After all, nobody would want to join the crew of an uncaring captain.

Tia Dalma and Gwendolyn stood on the bank of the river not too far from Tia Dalma's...house.
Now, just the way I showed you.
Gwendolyn crossed her hands on her chest and stepped onto the water. She walked all the way to other side of the river stepping on the surface of the water. Then she walked back to Tia Dalma.
Soon, you'll be able to do it without the hands.
That's wonderful, Tia Dalma. But when will I be able to go back to my Captain?
This Kibo? He is not a worthy captain to have you on his crew. He underestimates you too much.
Yes, but...in a way....I love him. Besides, I feel awfully sorry for deserting him like that.
You do not have enough time in your life for love. Come. There are still a many things I have to teach you.

kibo_botch Kibo looks out to the ocean, staring at the sillhouette of his ship, and closes his eyes, deep inthought. His energetic ruse dropped, and he sat on the beach, deep in thought. After several minutes, he slowly gets up, and heads into the town.
*Was heading down to one of the many Taverns lining the docks and noticed him. Droped into step with him, a worried look on my face.*
"Captain? What's wrong? You haven't said more then 2 words since we left that island..."
