Wondering if this is good for a 2k army? I'm wondering so I don't waste my cash if it ain't...
HQ- 1 Necron lord with res orb and Veil of darkness (200 pts.) Elite- 1 squad (10) of Necron Immortals (280 pts.) Troops- 3 full (20) squads of Necron Warriors (1,080 pt.) Fast Attack- none Heavy Support- 1 Monolith (235 pts.) 1 squad (3) of Heavy Destroyers (195 pts.) Total- 1990 pts/2000 pts.

Does anyone else find the Necrons to be a remotely overpowered race?

if you notice something about them, they have very few options when it comes to equipment. Only Lords get wargear, and other models might or might not get Disrup Fields. They also, in campians, gain no experance, meaning they don't grow in points, but don't get new ablities.

I don't care about campaigns. And if they don't get that much wargear so what? They are nasty as hell as it is.

I have never lost a single game to a necron player. You feel so sorry for them since they have almost 0 chance against a hive tyrant.

Necrons can warp with a certain HQ guy, they probably warped too close to it.

DarkElf27 Necrons can warp with a certain HQ guy, they probably warped too close to it. the veil of darkness lets a Lord and one near-by squad of Necrons warp via Deap Strike rules. counts as moving, not Deep Striking, though

The one thing i hate about necrons is they are HELLSIHLY overpowered for being the same cost s a marine with nades.

It is 3000 points, but he doesnt use them all at once.
And yes your list is a good army list....
