Guardian of a Lost Cause

My personal experiance in fighting these green skinned beasts:

TAKE OUT THE BIKERZ ASAP. You wont believe how much damage just 3 of these can go. think 9 strength 5 ap5 reroll on a 5+ to hit can do to a guardian squad. Plus the Psycho Blasta rule wich when they charge they fire their weapons first then they fight in initiative order.

Actually you appear to have been misled. On the turn Bikes use their Psycho Blasta's rule they don't get to fight i close combat at all. Also when in close combat they loose their 5+ invulnerable save. I find the darned things to be a total waste of points as anything but a mobile smokescreen for vehicles...

orks rule. they may have pants armour and intiative but they are so cheap for what u get srength 3, 4 attacks, they ahve an intitiative of 2 but if u have a squad of 12 then they automatically have intitiative 4 the same as a marine. They also get the best guns, nig shoots with there special upgrades, 2 strength 5 ap 5 shots its great. speed freaks are amzing as well especially with a load of open toped vehicles to assualt out of, i cant see why any one wou;d hate orks... plus they are funny...

he means this biker nob

User Image

and he just mis wrote it the gear I gave him he always has the 5+ invulnerable save (cybork body) and the rule is and I quote

In an assault Bikers use there bigshootas to blast the enemy at point blank range breaking through their lines in a storm of shrapnel. This means that warbikes that charge into close combat strike first and make a shooting attack on the enamy in the first round instead of fighting normaly. once warbikes have resolved there shots their opponents may fight back.

ok thats the rule to clear that up

Basically, to all you naysayers that say that the Ork Bikers cannot fire their weapons when entering combat, you are wrong. They can, and they can use the upgrades they have given their guns as well. xd

Nice Nob! That's the best Biker Nob I've ever seen, most of them are normal Boyz from the Bike model who have been given normal Slugga Boy arms and head so that they are comparatively bigger. Do we post pictures of our models here on these army threads as well? If so I'll try to get a pic of my Warboss on his Cyboar. I know it's normally not allowed, but the locals are cool with it and they like the fact he can't be put in a vehicle anymore. My Warboss is also my only model that I have painted. I discovered I don't really have a talent for it, not for things so small.

They can when they charge or enter combat, but then its a regular assault in the following rounds.

Basically. That is the way it goes, but if you want to do something really nasty, leave combat the next turn, and reenter with another squad.

I'm just glad the guys around here let me use Dethkoptas in my standard ork army. For a mere 5 points over a Bike you get an extra point of str. for close combat, jetbike movement abilities, and a 4+ armor save instead of a 6+. Also upgrading one of them to a Mek for free and equipping him with Toolz and a Burna makes for one small, hard hitting, rediculoulsy mobile repairforce. Not to mention keeping all the fun benefits of a Bike while doing it like Psycho Blasts and Fearless. I may not consider Warbike worth the point cost, but I definately approve of Dethkoptas.

always take that bike upgrade with the sticks. You know, the one that gives you an additional S3 attack on the assault?
Last time someone did that, it went in and KILLED a model. Closest one was the Apothecary. It's like.. precision aiming. xd

What upgrade is this? An automatic str. 3 hit? The only things I can think of are Spikes n' Blades for Vehicles that inflict a str. 3 wound automatically on any failed roll to hit the Vehicle in melee or the str. 4 hit from the Bonik Arm upgrade for Ork Characters. Are you talking about the Arm? I'd have to look it up but I think it's just an attack and you still need to roll to wound and they get armor saves as normal.

I'm not sure if it was an armageddon special rule or not. The person did field an army using bits from the armageddon codex. But yeah, basically, it's a free attack at the start of a combat. o_o I got really bad with my save and because the apothecary was the closest model, it had to be removed..

I think I know what you are talking about, and I think it is for the Cult of Speed only. I may be wrong though.

I'll check out my Codex when I get home and tell you all for sure, but I think it's just a Bonik Arm.

Anyways, I was wondering about if anyone thinks the Orks will get the ability to use units from other armies as a standard thing in their new codex (should it ever be written). The Orks have long existed as a slaving society, and while citizens of the Imperium have never lived very long under Orky care, I think they shouldn't be totally discounted. My Warboss uses a Ripper model from a 'Nid Ripper Swarm for his squig, and I'm told that could actually work because Rippers are mindless eating machines not actually connected to the Hive Mind. So they are basically deadly Squigs anyways. Also I'm building a Bann' Wavva' for my Warboss out of Fire Warrior bits, because I fight Tau that often and this one Fire Warrior named Cahone always seemes to survive while his squad is repeatidly masacred. Tau are roughly four feet tall and smell horrible, why couldn't an Ork think of them as a blue grots? They certainly fight like grots (hideously ineffectively). But an enslaved Dark Eldar warrior might actually earn a place of honor in Ork society with their fearsome close combat skills rivalling those of and of the Boyz. And wouldn't an insane Homonculus fit in well as an orderly with the already iffy medical practices of the Mad Dok's? I'm sure if I sat here and thought about it I could think up dozens of reasons other races would make good slaves, and plenty of places where taking a slave as wargear instead of a grot or squig could make sense. What do you all think?
