Mariposa would it be wrong to post my competition pictures here since I am not a member? whee I want to ask to be sure. Sure, I've got no problems with that and i'm sure no one would object. What catergory did you enter in the competition? Was it sparring or forms etc?

Thanks Delmar! I went to the Kuk Sool UK nationals and competed in all three divisions for white belts, sparring, forms and techniques. I was defeated in two of those divisions by my good friend from the same class as me... so here i am hiding my face in SHAAAME! XD.. (no not really... whee the camera was way to close and i dont like close ups of my scaryness! ) But i am glad to say i put forward everything i had and came home (very late, might I add! XD) with three silvers!  ^_^ so overall ... it was a very rewarding experiance!

Delmar_Denban Thunder Foot Nice footage Delmar. A little expedition never hurt anyone biggrin Question, is the stick you were twirlin Rattan? Just a broom stick which I cut in half. All of the sticks I use are broom sticks which have been cut down to size. As a guide line I take the broom stick and place one end under my arm pit and hold the stick along my arm. I mark the stick at the point where my index finger reaches and cut it there. I prefer to use the heaviest wood I can find. I feel that rattans tend to be too light to practice with. Heh. I'm not sure if it's availability would be easy in europe, but you should look for Kamagong, or "Ironwood" kali sticks. They're kali sticks made from Kamagong, a tree found in the phillipines whose wood is black in colour and is one of the only known woods that can sink in water. It's quite heavy and would be very useful for stick training. They go for about 30 bucks each here in Canada.
