Thorn followed the bobbing white light into a clearing. Looking up he saw the gigantic manor house. On closer inspection the the door was open and two people where conversing in it. He slowly walked to the steps making himself known by coughing. "Excuse me if I am interupting anything but I was drawn to this place for reasons unknown to me. Mabey you could explain things to me?" He contiuned up the stairs stoping next to the women there.

Adencia nodded. Her curse was a burden, but she wasn’t one to complain. Complaints made her angry so why do the same to others?

“The only problem is, I don’t really know who my blood ties are. A few months after I was born my parents went missing and I was left with another family. They raised me to be a fighter and sorceress. While I was going through training as a warrior the Bowen would have competitions with other classes of elves, dwarfs, and men. When I was fourteen I was to participate in one of these competitions. I beat the man I was against. He was so angry, that night he followed our troop through the woods and was somehow able to curse me. At first I wasn’t entirely sure what he did to me but I knew something felt different.

“My training as a warrior was soon complete and my people began to train me as a sorceress. I soon found what my curse was but was lucky enough to be able to run and hide it so no one knew. Then when I was sixteen I attacked someone. It was during the day and I was at my home. There were children playing in the streets and I transformed into a wolf. I killed a little boy. The same little boy I was trusted to look after and take to the schooling masters each morning . . .”

Adencia paused for a long time and sat in silence. This was the first time she had told anyone this in detail and, though it felt good for someone else to know, she didn’t like reliving it.

“That was ten years ago and now I’m seventeen (Our kind measure a year of aging for every ten years that have passed). I have been living on my own ever since that day. It was either stay in my village and be sentenced to death, or leave and never come back. I would have rather died. But the family that had raised me after my parents abandoned me refused to let me stay and forced me out. So I left, lived in the forests for the past ten years, and here I am now. Not the best story I have ever told but you can’t expect the life story of a cursed one to be very entertaining.

“Do you have family? If you would rather not talk about it, I understand, I was just curious.”

“Nice to meet you.” Garren said with a slight bow, “And, yes, it was my sister that woke up Bellaream.”

Garren soon saw another figure come into sight, a rather short, young figure. The kid couldn’t have been older than twelve. He cocked an eyebrow and looked to the boy.

“And who is this, sister? You have called upon a child? This is ridiculous . . .”

“Oh, don’t start with me, Garren! Answer him!”

Garren cleared his throat and said, “Erm, yes, come in. you were summoned here by a spell, were you not?”

He stopped and clenched a fist knowing how ridiculous he must have sounded.

“I never knew my real parents either, both societies that they were from didn’t like the idea of the union between an elf and a human, and disliked the idea of a half-elf even more, in addition it seemed that they were doing something that would not allow them to keep their baby safe. They left me with their friend and my master, Merinas de Ku, the master of the Angona style of combat, she raised me and trained me. A few years later she also adopted an elf girl by the name of Zera, she is one of the Ilkales as she calls herself. While some of Merinas’ other students became friends of mine, she and Zera were my only real family. Merinas said she’d tell me about my biological parents when I was older, but she never got the chance.

“I was there when she was murdered, and I doubt she would have fallen there if I had not been. I was filled with rage, the only time it was entirely my own. I killed the murderer’s comrades and gravely wounded the murderer, he cursed me to always show the wrath I showed there, the energy it took from him drained the last of his life energy, robbing me of my satisfaction.” Kayoe grabbed his katana and pulled it from it’s sheath. “This was her sword. And just for that it is worth far more to me then what ever the Mithril it is made out of must be.” Kayoe put the sword away and took a deep breath, the memory of the event was going to make him angry if he kept talking about it. Taking another breath he decided to finish his story quickly before he could get angry. “Zera is the only real family I have left. I must rid myself of this curse as part of my attempts to become a better man for both her and Merinas’ sakes.

“It seems our stories do have some similar events that went on in our lives. If I was a superstitious man I’d say it was fate for us to meet here.”

"So that is why I was compelled by the light." Thorn replied "It seems I was not the only one called apon by your spell." he replied glancing at the lady that was also on the porch conversing with Garren. "I don't wish to interupt any thing so don't mind me" He said pushing through into the house.

He stood in the entrance hall observing every thing, then he went and sat in one of the plush couches. He pulled the giant battle axe off his back and started sharpening it. Every time the stone ran across the blade it made an almost musical, ringing sound. The axe was the only momento he had of his live before the affect of the curse. He took great care of it never letting it get dull and always cleaning, sharpening, and polishing it.

Garren cocked an eyebrow at the young boy who had no problem with being summoned somewhere and not caring why. Just a bit strange.

"Erm . . . If you would all come with me and sit with the others in the common room-"

"Be polite, Garren! Say please!"Isarelle hissed.

"Please." Garren cringed. He then turned and started wlaking towards the common room not caring if the others followed or not.

"Oh, Garren, you can be so difficult sometimes!" Isarelle pouted.

"GET OFF MY BACK, ISA!" Garren shouted with clenched fists. He glared back at the guests, daring them to say anything, then turned back and stormed down the long hallway.

Adencia nodded and sat back comfortably.

"Fate . . . funny thing, fate." She said thoughtfully.

"GET OFF MY BACK ISA!" Could be heard echoing down the halls.

"Seems like Garren's back." Adencia said with a grin, "He's Isarelle's brother. You haven't met him, have you? You should probably know about their curse as well, seeing as they are our hosts for the time being. And I say curse singular because the curse affects them both."

Tanyeera shrugged and continued down the hall after Garren. She heard him yelling quite clearly and started to grin. This was going to be a very interesting trip...

Kayoe nodded.
“You’re right I’ll make sure to ask one of them about it at the first opportunity. However now might not be the best of times to ask, his sister seems to be irritating him at the moment. To some degree, I can understand that. When two people are around each other all the time they can get on each other’s nerves. On that note are they the only people who live here or is there another... family member who lives with them?” Kayoe was slightly hesitant to use the word family because he knew all too well that the word could mean different things for different people, but he said it in such a way that he figured Adencia would know what he meant.

Adencia yawned tiredly and shrugged.

“I dunno.” She said, “I think Isarelle would have mentioned if anyone else was here with the two of them. Or should I say one? Ah well, I’ll probably never get it right. With the way she spoke of the people from the nearby village avoiding this place like the plague I wouldn’t think that there are any other people, nor family. She really hasn’t spoken much of any family, come to think of it.”

Garren walked into the common room to see their guests, or more like Isarelle’s guests, settled in. He was just about to pass them up and leave when Isarelle tensed up inside him and forced him to stop.

“Garren, we can’t just leave them here. They probably have more questions.” Isarelle said softly, “Come now, Garren, just a few more minutes. Please? For me, Garren, just a moment.”

“Isa . . .” Garren groaned in a whisper, his back turned to the group, “You cannot shame me when I say I don’t trust these people. You are quick to judge and trust and that is not a good thing all together. We barely know them, and their curses . . . they’re dangerous Isa. This whole ‘quest’ idea is. You are not fit for such travels, and you are not fit to defend yourself against the wills of your guests whether they are being affected by their curses or not. I am trying to look after you, sister; I don’t want you getting hurt. Don’t be offended when I say you are too delicate and have gotten yourself in matters that will not ease up for your sake. You are a hostess, Isa, not a traveler, not a fighter, and definitely not a hunter. You may be a sorceress but your magic is still not strong enough for our journey. People like Khnui or—or Adencia who are strong and know most of the world cannot and will not be held back by a manor princess in a dangerous situation . . . Isa, I just don’t want you to get hurt. You are all I have, you are my little sister.”

“Little sister or not, I can take care of myself!”

“No, Isa. There is so much you don’t know.” Garren finished and took a few steps, heading for the door. Isarelle froze up again and stopped him.

“Don’t fight me, Isa.”

Adencia sat in silence, her keen ears catching bits of Garren’s near inaudible conversation with his sister. She frowned and glanced back as he tried to leave.

“Would you please join us, Garren?” She said coldly, “Just a question or two before . . . you’re on your way.”

Garren sighed and shook his head, hearing the bite in Adencia’s tone. Isarelle heard it too.

“Very nice, Garren. She heard you.”

Garren ignored her comment and turned back around.

“Very well. For your troubles.” He said in a tone equal to Adencia’s. He sat in a chair facing her and locked gazes.

Adencia gave him a fierce glare and folded her arms across her chest. She could already tell that any conversation with Garren was going to be a battle.

From Adencia’s discription of the nature of the siblings’ curse Kayoe could guess about what it was. It also seemed that his other host was in a slightly irritable mood, but that didn’t excuse Kayoe from any rudeness from one who’s home he was a guest in. Kayoe stood up and took a few steps toward Garren.
“I don’t believe we’ve met, my name is Kayoe. You are Isarelle’s brother, correct? I must thank you for letting us use your home to prepare for this journey. As I told your sister, it shall be an honor to lend my blade to this mission.”
Kayoe offered his hand for Garren to shake it. Even if his theory about Garren’s curse was correct it was still only polite to introduce himself directly to him.

Tanyeera seated herself on the couch, leaned back and started to meticulously sharpen her knives with a whetstone. She'd listen to whatever they said, but in the end, she already knew all she needed to know. Her job was simply to tag along and help keep these folks alive. What needed to be explained about that?
