FYGK I only have the 1st volume and its sooo awesome! I can't wait until the second one comes out which comes out in November *sigh* I hate waiting

yes, wait sucks. too bad it takes forever for fy manga to come out.
i know how all the genbu senshi look like except Urimiya, so im also waiting for the Japanese manga to come out. -sigh- sad

i picked up the first volume about two weeks ago. it's so cute. i definitely like her better than Miaka. well, i never liked Miaka in the first place. she's just too... engh... childish i should say. Anyway, i can't wait 'till the second volume. swoot!

The wait does suck, but certainly the wait will be worth it. Take the original series for example when Viz only released them twice a year.
Until then, it does offer time to get started on other series by Ms. Watase or by another creator while you wait. ^.^

Did they really? I thought the FY:SS came out every three months or so which makes...*hates math* four volumes a year? Something like that...It wasn't so harsh as two a year though, that's for sure (or I would've gone bonkers gonk )
You have a point though. I have more series to buy right now than I can handle sweatdrop Yep...a job would be nice right about now.

most people like genbu better because its more mature like watase-sensei said so. But i dont see whats so great about it. i mean its good and all but its nothing like the FY:SS...People say it has better drawings...of course it does!! FYGK is 10 yrs AFTER FY:SS, so of course its better!! The thing i dont like about genbus release is that everyone is hating on FY:SS now. stare

Have you read the whole series? I haven't but everyone has their own opinions I suppose...I just like it and put it on FY:SS's level because so far, Takiko found her warriors in more interesting ways. Plus she's nothing like Miaka...and...and of course everyone's got different personalities from SS but I think the characters will be even more profound. Everyone has their own background story and I'm interesting in hearing Rimudo's. Tamahome was all about family and money but this guy seems to have something more...
I don't think Sensei will make him the usual ideal hero.

No one has read the whole series, that's for sure, since its not even complete yet. But I can tell you, having read all that has been released of Genbu Kaiden it is better than the original. I don't hate the Suzaku/Seiryuu arc, but its so much more childish and outlandish than Genbu Kaiden. If you ever bother reading the parts where Watase-sensei has her little conversations and info pages in the manga even she admits that Suzaku/Seiryuu arc FY was cheesy but then again she started dreaming it up around middle school/high school. And let's face it, that's a cheesy age to be in. You dream up stuff that's over the top.
With Genbu Kaiden, Watase-sensei has just had more time to grow and mature as a manga artist which is what makes Genbu Kaiden so much better. Takiko may be in love with Rimudo and it may be obvious they're going to be the romantic coupling in this series, but they're relationship isn't rushed like Tamahome and Miaka's was and its way more believeable. Not to mention character development is much better in Genbu Kaiden, since in Suzaku/Seiryuu characters like Mitsukake and Chiriko were really never delved into too much (until the release of the novels 2-3 years ago) which its really ridiculous to focus so much on the Suzaku story and then kinda put two of the Seishi to the side. And Watase-sensei has also made way more interesting Seishi, its not your standard run of the mill hot guy group, which, honestly, I'm fine with.
With Genbu Kaiden, Watase-sensei has just made a new chapter to the FY story that her older fans would appreciate just as much as the new and younger ones.

It is much better than FY,maybe its coz Genbu Kaiden's was made later than FY..well,its just a hunch.
Anywaes,i agree with most of you tht Genbu Kaiden is better.Tho' I have up to vol4 only, it makes me wanna read all over again..lolz..just to catch up whats happening..

Yes, i have to agree with part of your opinon...but its just that if FY:SS was being made right now it would be as good as genbu kaiden wouldnt it?
But if it was being made now it would be way different wouldnt it?

But the fact is that it's not being made right now, FYGK is.
I do see what your saying though...If FY:SS was made after the Genbu series I wonder which people would like more...
But I think people who pick and like one justify their reasons with quotes, scenes, and all that jazz. Like how what The Manda said about Takiko and Rimudo's relationship for instance. I also like that fact they don't fall in love with each other at the very first volume.
It's all about everyone having different opinions.

Have you guys ever noticed that Watase-sensei likes to put love..err umm lets say hexagons..you know that many of the Genbu seven is gonna fall in love with her but shes just gona end up with the first Genbu warrior she found..which for me it would be kinda weird considering that he turns into a she sweatdrop
Who do you guys think Takiko is gonna end up with?
