If they had the cast of smallville do it; it wouldn't be the same move..the director wanted new actores - well at least to play superman himself!

uh. no not exactly. I didn't hate it, and in fact a lot of people actually did like it. The reason why probably not everyne liked it was the fact that Lois was in 5 minutes of it.

umm is this okay to post in this thread still? I haven't seen the movie until today because I got it on dvd.
Well my opinion on the movie. I thought the special effects were fantastic like really fantastic. I didn't like how they had young clark run like that though... should have been the smallville kind of super speed run.
It would have been nice if the Smallville cast were in the movie instead of the actors were in it but I can't really complain. Everyone did a wonderful job especially Brandon Routh. What a great Superman. (of course not better then the legend Christopher Reeve)
Tom Welling would have done an excellent job if he was casted as Superman but I think he more belongs on the show 3nodding
I think this is just a rumor I heard but is it true that if Tom Welling was casted to play Superman that they would have to cancel Smallville?!? I think it was a rumor.. Anyways doesn't really matter now does it... I hear they will be making two more Superman movies. I'm excited. Though this movie was kind of long it was a great comeback. It's like they mixed Superman 1 and 2 together sort of.
Anyways I'd give this movie a 8 out of 10. mrgreen

He is most definatly Clark Kent material but Brian Singer didn't even think of him only because A) He was doing Smallville and he did not want people to get the impression that it was a SMallville movie and B) Singer, Gough, and Millar made a pact saying that SInger could do the movie and Gough and Millar could continue on with Smallville as long as Smallville did not get to much into the story of SM.
