He relaxed a little and nodded, sitting down once more and curling his tail around him. "Yes, you're right." He smiled faintly, "she's a smart girl." He shook the mane out of his eyes and glanced over at Bakhti as she spoke. It became clear to him that she had feelings for that Suku lion even if she wasn't quite sure of it.
"Well I think next time we meet him I might have to play matchmaker." He beamed at her.

Maawio sat upon her rump, watching Amari fondly with her shimmering eyes, the kindness always portrayed in those occuli. She pawed at the ground, making small clouds of dust rise into the atmosphere and tickle her nose. She couldnt help but look at Bahtki with a sorta apologetic look on her face... She hoped Bahtki would never meet Jasiri... Sighing happily she retreated even more so her back was pressed against the humid floor and her ears were slightly buried in the mossy ground.

Amari looked up and glanced around at the sound of paws on the dirt. Was there someone else nearby? He brought both of his ears up and looked around them. "Who's there?" He asked quietly, turning briefly to Bakhti to see if she had also heard the sound.

Her small body wound itself around a nearby tree as she padded her way towards Amari, a content look on her face, entwined with a soft smile. "Hey, Its only me." She said, smile widening as she sat down near Amari, her eyes looking a little sleepy but still as large and shocking as always.

Amari's eyes softened once more as he moved to sit beside her, his side brushing aganist hers. "Maawio." He spoke her name softly and reached up to press his nose beneath her chin, drawing in her sweet scent through his sensitive nose. "I thought you'd returned already, won't your mother be worried?" He asked gently.

She gave his nose a small lick, her eyes a little downcast as she spoke again, but her eyes filled with a sense of freedom. "Erm...My mother is dead..." She said bluntly. She didnt have much feeling for her mother, although she was curious as to what happened. She shrugged and looked warmly back to Amari. "After the plague the pridelands were almost bare." Her maw almost touched the ground as she looked to the floor again. "Theres only eight members in the pride, some have gone missing, and I think Mahiri might join, but im the only youngster, apart from Nala, who I dont see very often, at all..."

A small smile graced his features at their closeness but that soon dissapeared at her next words. It sounded like the pride could be in trouble, especially if there were no youngsters to help the pride along in the next generation.
"I'm sorry to hear that Maawio, I know you weren't too keen on your mother but it must still have been a shock." His muscles quivered slightly at the words and he moved closer to her, seeking to comfort her even though she seemed to be holding up well.
"I'm sure the king and queen will help to ease the problem of lack of members however." He nodded slowly, tail twitching thoughtfully.

She could see his fur close up, the sleekness and the rusty hue was highlighted beneath the sun. She smiled sadly, her features lighting up with a proper smile. "I hope so..." She said, looking back to the sky with her eyes shining at the prospect. "I get lonely sometimes, but all I have to do is think of you" She murmured, her voice trailing off as she looked back to Amari sheepishly. "It was a shock, im still hoping to talk to Mufasa about it..." She nodded.

He nodded slowly, being around her was making him drowsy and relaxed, and he felt like he could have fallen to sleep right there if he had allowed himself to.
"Everyone gets lonely sometimes princess." He purred softly, "but it does help to think of those you care about, I know it works for me." He regarded her with a look that would make her realise she was the one he thought about to keep him happy.
"I think Bakhti is lonely too, even though she is with me there is something that stops her from enjoying my company...as if she is looking for something more. I don't think she wants to be a rogue but..." He trailed off, his voice kept as low as possible so that the older lioness wouldn't hear the words.

She gave him a warm loveing smile as she saw his look. She sighed happily, she was so content here, especially next to Amari. She looked up to him, her orbs widened as she mentioned Bahtki.
"She likes Sukutu... But he has gone away, and he..." She lowered her voice, pressing her maw gently into the juveniles ear and twisting away from the adolscent slightly. "He likes Jasiri..." She whispered, her eyes looking a little sad, she didnt want Bahkti to get hurt...

This was news to Amari and he couldn't help but feel a terrible ache in his chest at this realisation. He had never seen Sukutu with another female but it seemed he had a mate already. He cast a nervous glance to Bakhti and sighed, ears drooping.
"Bakhti is like a sister to me..." He murmered sadly, turning hazel eyes once more to Maawio, "I don't want her to get hurt and I will stay with her for as long as she will let me. I won't leave her alone but I think it best to tell her this before...before she lets any feelings grow." He knew what heartbreak was like, he had been witness to it when Maawio had left him after the fight.
He shuddered and moved to nuzzle at the golden femme once more, "but just because I'll travel with Bakhti won't mean I'll stop visiting. I didn't forget my promise, I'll come to see you whenever I'm in the area."

She returned the nuzze softly and looked into his eyes once more. "I believe you." She said, her voice soft as she looked to Bahkti with thought. "I think we should save her from being hurt..." She paused. "We shall tell her soon..." She said, in a comforting tone, her occuli glancing over the honey-coloured female, a smile on her features with a pained look.

"Ahh she's a strong one, she'll be fine. I think she's just been alone too long...perhaps it would be best if she joined a pride..." He trailed off, not liking to talk about her when she was so close by.
"Maybe one day I will too." He grinned at Maawio and nudged at her shoulder with a paw, standing up and stretching casually.

Bakhti had heard the conversation. She didn't care well she did but not for the others to see. Suku was a good guy but she had said to Amari that he probably had a mate and she was right. She loved Amari not as lovers but as a brother and a best friend. She could hear every word they were saying but yet pretended to stay asleep.
She tried to stay asleep like but she couldn't. Looking at them briefly to make sure they weren't looking she stood up and walked away from them a little to sit down and think. She was a rouge and how ever much she longed to be in a pride she wouldn't. She would stay as her parents had done.

Amari's eyes widened as Bakhti moved and his throat felt suddenly dry, had she heard them talking? He cast his eyes briefly to Maawio and wondered whether he should try to talk to her in a way to comfort her. It wasn't his speciality but he cared for the lioness and hated to see her in pain.
