"Well excuse me for having a heart!" Iro blurted. His words had stung, and she wasn't about to be mocked while she was trying to apologize. "I know it's my fault we're in this mess! I never forget that! But I don't need you picking at me every chance you get." Burnt out because of her outburst, she lay back on the sand and turned away from him.

"Because this is the fastest way to what I want," said Ryushi vaguely with a secretive expression. She wouldn't see it though, since he turned away. "The last thing I want is to impress my father, and I don't give a damn about chivalry. You're the one who treats genders so differently with your 'proper' island manners. Any further into what I -do- want is not for you to know."

Iro sat up and looked at him, grey eyes meeting grey. "It's yours," she said under her breath as she stood up, "I don't want it..." She started to walk past him, deliberatly ignoring his comment about her using him.

Ryushi shrugged, and walked after her, dragging his sandled feet through the sand. Oh, but this was going to be just as fun as everything else so far.

Iro kept walking, only slightly aware that Ryu was behind her. I'm going to settle this for good, she thought to herself, if they won't accept me back, then I'll give them exactly what it is they want.......

Ryushi walked slightly behind Iroka with his fingers interlocked behind the back of his head, blissfully unaware of her inner thoughts. He'd be free soon enough.

Iro slowed her steps so she fell in next to Ryu, not completely sure why walking next to him made her feel a little better. "So," she said quietly, "What's the battle plan?"

"Eh?" said Ryushi. He was caught off guard. The truth is, he hadn't thought about it much himself. To cover up, he pretended to look thoughtful. "We go in. If they try to kill us, they're stupid, and I subdue them. Either way, I find out if you're telling the truth or not. If you are, you're free to go back to the village that hates you, go to some other island, whatever. If you aren't, then I either kill you myself, or hand you over to the village."

"Well, not hated," said Ryushi brightly. "If the village understands their mistake, they won't hate you. They might be resentful about being wrong, but not hate you. And if you travel..."
He shrugged. "Well, they can't hate you either, right? After all, no one would know you."
